Good result for us dare to dream, we can get something from tomorrow

No.
They don't look at a list of numbers and say ah look, this bloke has higher figures so he's better.
That's very much not what they do.
That’s exactly what they do

I wonder if there’s a deal we could do with Archer for Arblaster given the buy back clause?
They own the player, from what I have read we are obliged to buy him back

Data doesnt take into account a lot of things. Players attitude, wages, adaptability and level of opposition
Its why Monchi had hundreds of scouts at Sevilla
No it doesn’t take into account everything, but it does take into account most things. So if the data is roughly right, you look into it. If it’s bad, you don’t bother

Are you just looking at FBREF numbers and decreeing if a player is good or bad?
Obviously, the data recorded doesn’t lie.
That is why all modern football scouting at the top level is done like this now

He’ll be halfway through his 6 year deal this summer so £50mill left to amortise - can see them accepting a small hit on him to get his £300k + wages off the books. If he were to do a Coutihno and accept a vastly reduced salary to facilitate a move and then if Emery wants him back I’d be all for it. They say never go back but Cowans played for us on 3 separate occasions and Grealish is up there with our best ever talents we’ve ever produced and could become a club legend if he were to return and shine.
I don’t see it to be honest but they can have 40 off me and 150 for him on. 4 year and no more

Very good player , would fit our style our play and much more realistic than Neves for sure !

He’s a slam dunk imo, worst that happens is we have a good back up that’s worth what he costs if you want to sell

Never heard of him and no data to look at because he has played so little

He's at Benfica so they'll be demanding 70m + no problem.
Actually weren't we linked to Kokcu when he was at Feyenoord? He's more realistic and IIRC the reports at the time were he had a similar profile to SJM so that could be a smart signing.
100m plus
Dunno on Kokcu, there are Feyenoord players though on my summer list in Wieffer and Geertruida -

We reportedly want to boost our home grown ranks
that is very difficult

Didn't someone on here a while back say we were interested in Ruben Neves and he was open to coming back to the West Midlands?
I do not follow the Saudi league at all so couldn't care less about how he's doing there but ultimately he was top quality at Wolves for many years and is still only mid 20s and he'd be a very nice option to have in the squad to give McGinn and Luiz breathers at various points when you're playing three high intensity games a week.
Guess wages would be an issue but we found enough room in the budget to get in Tielemans in similar circumstances last summer.
Wrong Neves

He's on double the wages of our highest paid players so not happening
Not unless he took a massive cut, I agree. The fee couldn't be above 40 either

Yet you think Todibo is realistic and want us to sign Hojberg
Todibo is quoted between 30-40m
I mentioned that Hojbjerg would be an interesting pickup given the financials and his skill set.
My recommendation for a DM was Mats Wieffer

Miranda doesn't look special at all

Neither does Hermoso (as a left sided centre back), we also have two of those
https://fbref.com/en/players/555f3a0b/scout/365_m1/Mario-Hermoso-Scouting-Report#all_scout_summary
Rodriguez looks like a good ball winner who can't do much when he wins the ball, he's 30 next week as well.
https://fbref.com/en/players/34e393f2/scout/365_m1/Guido-Rodriguez-Scouting-Report
Baena is an interesting player for wide midfield, but his defensive stats are awful, as a forward he is middling and of course we don't need any players there.https://fbref.com/en/players/518f2234/scout/365_m1/Alex-Baena-Scouting-Report#all_scout_summary
Almada has excellent stats for an attacking player, but they have been achieved in the MLS and again we don't need forwards.
Your list......
fills the squad with players in positions that aren't needed Rodriguez aside.
Your sales make an FFP loss
IMO it is a stinker -

Blow budget and let’s go for João Neves
100m.......No

He hasnt been the same player since his injury and seems to be reports he might be dropped for the Euros
That and we have 3 forwards for one position already......

Just now, VillaJ100 said:Lol we have to play the top three and could easily get zero points from them. Man U could easy shit their way through dodgy reffing and VAR to 2 wins while we're playing those matches and suddenly were level on points and above them on goal difference.
It's not probable but if any poisonous cyst of a club would do it it would be those turds
Show me on the doll where Man Utd hurt you........

Those 6 points against Manure would have made everything a little easier.
we need to take each game as it comes and take the opportunities that present themselves within them.
If we play well against City then we have to take chances as and when they come.
Those 6 points against them would have made us outsiders for the title.

No it would have been 9 points with a game in hand v Sheff U, so effectively 6 points with 9 games to go. Although it still would have been a tough ask, you couldn't have ruled them out of the race in that scenario.
Have a lay down.

Yeah Man United are out of it now, but he is saying that they wouldn't have been had they won at Brentford. Which I agree with.
Thankfully, they didn't so it's irrelevant.
it's 12 points with 9 games to go, it would have been 10. Either way it is over.
-
1 minute ago, VillaJ100 said:
Well have to count the game in hand v Sheffield, that puts it at 4 points. That's why I said Brentford's point was important as otherwise that would be 2 points.
What are you lot jabbering about, Man Utd are done, 5th place is the minimum now.

look when it comes down to it, Spurs have less games to play than us and arguably easier games.
That makes them favourites.
With so few games to go anything can happen and it will all be clearer in a couple of weeks.- 1

He is also on about 120k a week
100k i saw, its worth saying the average wage is now 60k or so.

So, who is out of contract in the summer?, some i have noticed:
Mario Hermoso (28) - Atletico - CB/LB (some links to him already?)
Guido Rodriguez (29) - Betis - DM (some links to him already?)
Daichi Kamada (27) - Lazio - AM (he must have signed a short contract, he wasnt our of contract that long ago for his previous club?)
Felipe Anderson (30) - Lazio - RW (werent we linked with him in the summer last year?)
Gabriel Barbosa (27) - Flamengo - ST (is this the same Barbosa that was an FM wonderkid many years ago?)
Vladimir Coufal (31) - West Ham - RB
Ben Johnson (24) - West Ham - RB
Joel Matip (32) - Liverpool - CB
Also, for interest, some players with only a year left on their contract this summer (could get some good value from short contract players?):
Warren Zaire-Emery (18) - PSG - CM
Jonathan David (24) - Lille - ST (been linked with him before)
Mikel Merino (27) - Real Sociedad - DM/CM (been linked with him before)
Frederico Chiesa (26) - Juventus - LW/ST
Khepheren Thuram (23) - Nice - CM
Frank Anguissa (28) - Napoli - DM/CM
Denzel Dumfries (27) - Inter - RB
Rayan Cherki (20) - Lyon - AM/ST
Unai Simon (26) - Athletic - GK
Lo Celso (27) - Spurs - AM
Illing Junior (20) - Juventus - LW
loads of interesting players on the 1 year.
Lo Celso would be interesting at left midfield
Cherki will probably turn out to be a bargain for whoever gets him
Simon is a good keeper
David is on my list of summer signings
Emery is going nowhere, that lad is insane.
