  1. I'd like to see

                    Guzan

    Hutton Okore Clark Cissokho

         Westwood Sanchez

    Bacuna               Sinclair

                    Gil

                Benteke

    Think "The Sherminator" will go

                     Guzan

    Hutton Vlaar Clark Cissokho

      *Sanchez/Cleverley Delph

    Bacuna               Sinclair

                    Gil

                Benteke

    *Sanchez/Cleverley

Depending if Sanchez impresses in training and TS thinks we need a bit more of a "Bulkier" holding player.

@CraigGards8: I've played villa in a cup before in the quarter finals same result will do #boingboing #facup #wembley

    Do your worst Clark.

Would love to see him break Gardner's legs.

That's a bit OTT, DK, a trademark heavy but legal tackle will suffice for me !  :)

.....one that just happens to break his legs?

  4. For us to win the FACup we need something like this to happen

    (presuming ManU re beat Preston)

Bradford City v Arsenal (No chance on that pitch)

Manchester United v Liverpool (Gerrard red card)
Blackburn Rovers v West Bromwich Albion
    Aston Villa v Reading

    Then

    Bradford City V Manchester United

    Blackburn Rovers v Aston Villa

    Then

Bradford City v Aston Villa (No F*** up this time)

  5. 2 things were very evident for me.

1 Lambert has really got into the players heads judging by the first half.

    2 Sherwood's HT talk got a reaction.

from now on dont be surprised if Given is given a chance :P

Delph will be instructed to get the ball forward quicker, take less risks in possesion & not to hog the ball or be dropped

Cleverley will be a different player now

expect more variations in line-ups and earlier substitutions.

  6. Just had a bizarre thought.

Sherwood keeps us up (making hay along the way).

Big Sam leaves Wet Spam at the end of his contract.

Gulible & Mold look for "Landaner wih attackin flayer an abili-e innit?"

    Sherwood goes a hero

    Sam comes a God

Hi Villatalk, Spurs fan here. Ask me anything about Tim :P

Any positives you feel he can offer Villa?

A lot. Short term he should give the club a lift and it will help if the fans buy into him and create a positive atmosphere. I think he's a good judge of player, when he came into Spurs, he favoured a young lad(Bentaleb) over far more experienced players with big reputations and price tags, it took a lot of balls to do that and he's been proven right as Bentaleb is now a key 1st team player for us over those established names, he also brought Kane in ahead of Soldado, a move which wasn't met positively with Spurs fans but again he's been proven more than correct on that one. I wouldn't like to guess where you'll end up this season if you were to hire him and there probably are safer options but long term I think he'll do a great job if he's given a chance. He 100% believes in developing young/home grown players over buying, he'll build a team that the fans find easy to get behind, any blasé players putting in minimal effort will quickly be shown the door - no matter who they are. He hates players who aren't good on the ball and he sets up to play attacking football - which could go some way to explaining why we had a high win % as well as a relatively high loss % and little in the way of draws while he was here.

Anyway, I've met my posts limit for the day so this'll have to be the last one. I like him and if he is appointed it's good to see a young British manager getting a chance at a big club, he'll do well if you support and stick by him imo.

    Thanx for the insight

If he does come, I hope it goes well. He needs to hit the ground running

  8. I'm NOT ITK

But Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Just imagine Fox had an eye on Mark Warburton and/or Paco Jemez. Brentford's Board got wind of it, then suddenly they send out a "Mark has a few clubs sniffing so we're also checking out someone like Paco Jemez as you never know in football" F***You Villa message.

All happened on the day of the "ok, one last chance Paul" Hull game & Brentford v Watford.

Fox surely had to start sniffing if he'd earmarked the Hull game as a "Sack or Stick" hand.

I personally think that Big Sam would keep us up and keep us ticking over till Lerner sells.

We missed a trick with Pulis, but the "Get out clause" is very interesting.

Jemez or Prandelli would be fantastic

Warburton, although high risk, seems to know what he's doing.

Sherwood, swings me back and forth reading all the posts, but it wouldn't be boring for sure.

    Reminder:

1 We were going down with Lambert had he stayed

2 Anybody with a grain of tactics will do better than Lamberts last 19/20 games

3 We got 13 games for whoever it is to show some balls - 4 wins & 4 draws before we go to Southampton or we'll be shitting bricks

(4 wins from - Stoke Toon WBA S'land Swansea QPR or Everton) & (4 Draws from Stoke Toon S'land Swansea Everton or WH) Bold more likely

  9. I can't involved with this adolescent, sentimental gushing over a statement. I'd wager money that it was written for him by someone within the LMA.

He probably wrote/dictated a few words and then then a spokesman/PA/media relations officer padded it out.

And what a great guy who loves the club that he is by asking to be sacked instead of just walking and not taking his pay out.

As I read the statement, The Scottish accent in my head soon morphed into a slow delberate softer than a fabric-softener voice a la Gordon Taylor.

I bet the LMA said "Paul, would you like us to compose a bye-bye letter to be appealing to potential new employers?"

General C Fukak is the human equivolent of a Mass-murderers last Turd as the jolt from the electric chair loosens his body muscles.

  10. Here's my 2 cents

Tom Fox should take a close look how the players react on Sunday. This should confirm or not that PL lost the players.

Lets hope & pray that the Marshalls get us through either by luck or Leicester just being more shite than we are.

Hope & pray too that Pulis pull off knocking Wet Spam out.

Tom Fox should have a serious word with Sam Allardyce to sound him out.

Sam's thoughts maybe along the lines of:

1 - WH out of FAC

    2 - AV still in

3 - Andy Carrol - Big fee - always injured - fans & board dont like my style

4 - Benteke - long  balls to him make him score - become a hero

5 - Gold & Sullivan never liked my style - where's my new contract?

6 - Possible FAC run - Possible stay up - Lerner/Fox think I'm God - Fans so happy at the relief

    Tom Fox should be thinking:

1 - need someone big with balls, No nonsense and clear definate playing/results concept

2 - Bonus for staying up

    3 - Bonus for FAC

4 - Sam would get us back up (proved it with WH) if it is too late

5 - Fans would rally behind a boss with balls

    No brainer really

    BUT

ANYBODY can do better than Lambert. Marshall & Marshall through to Sherwood, Laudrup, Lennon, Little, Gregory EVEN GABY (that was a joke :P ).

Lambert was REALLY as bad as the results and records show

  11. I was out with my Golf team-mates tonight. Had to listen to nonstop ridicule from ManU & Pool fans throughout the meal.

Message came on my phone whilst driving home, I screamed "YEEEEEEEEEEES" so loud and felt sooooooo F****ing relieved that I nearly crashed my car.

Went from "decent appointment" to "would make a great DoF" to "please leave" pretty quickly.

Lamberts refusal to resign with grace a loooooong time ago is the reason he gets no sympathy from me.

If he was really smart and had his own & the clubs interest at heart, he would have "morphed" himself into a DoF with a "Head Coach" & Assistant working under him. But was obviously too selfish and stubborn to realised where he is best suited in football.

  12. Yes the personal abuse towards someone who seems to have always given 100%, more than a lot of his playing staff have done in the same period and let's not forget Lambert has always backed his players publicly to protect them as much as possible, is a bit too much for me. He's clearly not an idiot, a cretin or whatever else ge's thrown at him, he's taken on a massive challenge made harder for him by the owner and he's come up short after losing his assistants etc along the way too.

The very least that the owner and Tom Fox hould be looking ot do is employ some coaches and a great assistant to help him out, seeing as he's actually put together a fairly strong first 11 (the strong squad stuff is a bit of a stretch but we do have on paper a good first XI now).

Still, I think they should be getting someone else in, someone with good preoven tactical abilities and a training ground manager/coach.

    Yes

So, in his own best career interests and the club he serves, he should be man enough to go with grace.

With his record, sticking around just for the paycheck is disrespecting Aston Villa FC and its fans.

  13.

But no-one should ever wish a player injured, especially while they are wearing the shirt of your team.

Normally you would be 100% correct

but for the good of the team an accidental trip and him twisting an eyebrow would be beneficial

  14.

End of next season will be a mass exodus…

    ------------------Given------------------

    Lowton----Baker----Clark---Bennett

    Nzog-----Bacuna------Sylla----Luna

    -------Helenius---------Weimann-----

Keep 2/3 out of that lot. Baker, Clark, (Bacuna) the rest can do one!

    That is horrific.

Relegation to Div 1 just around the corner

  15. Relegation/Survival

Once the season is over, how will everybody feel?

"I told you so" is irrellevant either way.

    BUT

1 - We go down under Lambert.

2 - Stay up under Lambert

3 - Lambert sacked, still go down

4 - Lambert sacked, stay up.

    its a 50/50 if he goes/stays

of the 50/50 its 50/50 up or down

my moneys on 4 then 3 then 1 then 2
