It's too bad they don't have another match against City before the season is done. Would be some statement to just walk off after kick-off in protest that they've received a penalty but City haven't

Yep. I think the British refs are a big boys club and all sorts of politics come into what decisions they make.
Truly independent officials would just call stuff as they see it, how refreshing would that be!
Would they? How many people do you meet from other countries who are only fans of the Sky 6, Barca/Madrid, etc?

Apparently, Fenerbahce fielded their U19 team, and the protest was because they asked for this Final to be postponed due to their upcoming midweek European tie. As you can imagine, the request was denied.

Looks like he'll be a really good player, he beats opponents with ease with the ball, can also compete physically but then best of all for a 21 year old has a decent end product too, When we signed him not many people got it, even Boro fans were surprised, but seems like we've unearthed a gem with this lad
We haven't plucked him from the obscurities of Biggleswade Town. He was literally on the books of Man City 12 months ago.

The thing that’s most annoying about the potential Carlos penalty and many other decisions is the lack of appeal from us. We are so passive. Scream at the ref. Make him think he’s screwed up. Force VAR to look at it. Don’t just get up and carry on! We really lack football intelligence as a team. We are way too nice.
I would say that not screaming at the ref and respecting his decision, whether right or wrong, shows a high level of respect and is how things should be. Being respectful may not get us any extra points, but I'd rather that than a team of Bruno Fernandeses.
I bet any analysis on BBC, Sky, MOTD, etc hasn't even mentioned the incident, which is a bigger issue.

He was my MOTM in the first half. Second, not so much. But, it was shambles from the whole team for those 10-15 mins

Also, this is as stonewall as it gets. I can see how the ref was fooled, but what's the point of VAR then?

An observation, not an excuse, but the ref today was absolutely shocking. Terrible control of the match and no awareness whatsoever.

How has the ref blown for HT there

KDB got me a whopping 13 points across 5 GWs (including 1 DGW). Smashes that total today, of course after I've transferred him out.

Managers have to manage a large group of players......there has to be a carrot in front of the Donkey....players have to be rewarded for good performances, else what's the point.
Motivation is a key ingredient in managing a football team.
I am not saying Emi won't play if he is fit.....but if he doesn't I could see the managers view.
GKs are different. Olsen knows he's a clear #2, end of.

This is literally true, yes. And in general, Villa fans made *far* more noise all night. I'm not making some biased point about how great Villa fans are here; I imagine that happens every week. And sometimes the away fans are louder at VP too - you get this experience sitting as I usually do in the Upper Doug - but the differential is completely different. While VP may not always be a cauldron of noise, there are at least a number of standards that get sung multiple times per game; they just don't even really seem to have chants at City.
Down 4-1, and all I can hear on the telly were Villa chants

Is it just me that thought their first goal last night was offside?. Also the VAR took 5 seconds to decide with what looked like only one line drawn.
Could have been the content provider (Optus)?.
Then our goal took a good minute to check and they checked 2 passages of play.
I initially thought he was off, but the one line was enough when I saw it live

Ben I think it's fair to say things haven't gone to plan so far this week. Yet.
Tuesday went to plan with double BOU DEF. Yesterday, everything that could go wrong went wrong.

honestly so close that it's one of those decisions I think should stand. hate when VAR chalks those off for us.
I thought it was off at first, but once the (one) line was drawn, I think he was on. Anyways, like you said.
