We really are clinging onto this season. All the xG stats from recent games since Forest has us behind opponents. Even Luton

We'll get found out soon enough unless we improve our performances

Which just goes to show what a load of bollox statistics are. What a sad state when xG stats (whatever they are) are deemed more important than actual results.
We won, but stats say we shouldn’t have, we must be shit.

For clarity, here is an entire starting XI you could make with the players who didn't start today, ranging from injury to suspension to clearly needing rests:

    Watkins
    Bailey Buendia
    Ramsey Kamara McGinn
    Moreno Mings Torres Cash
    Martinez

Onto Brentford: with the rested players, Watkins, McGinn, Martinez and hopefully Ramsey all back. UTV.

That team could also have lost 4-1. The team tonight did their best no question, hopefully Olsen gets some credit because Martinez would not have offered more tonight.

Not seen us dominated this badly since our kids played Liverpool in the cup

Seriously? They have had more of the ball but you can’t ignore the performance defensively for most of the game ? Even the first choice 11 would have done no better, who knows they might have been worse.

  4. Wouldn’t have equalised without him keeping the ball alive. Haven’t heard a pundit mention this yet but I’m sure one will have noted Toney clapping on the bench.

Subs have really made a difference… we need to get starting lineups right so they can affect the game from the start instead…

We’re depleted but Rogers and Duran should not be starting really…

Ah hindsight it’s a beautiful thing.

I understand that some of you hate when posters blame the referee.  What I hate worse is when posters slag off our own players and manager.  You can say Rogers should have marked the wing more closely than he did on the goal (fact), without stating that he's dross, useless, needs replaced immediately.  I understand passion, but I really struggle to understand venom at our own players and manager.  (Another Unai experiment isn't working!  As if he wasn't forced to think outside the box.)

I wouldn't change a thing (yet) except tell the back line and the pivot to move the ball more quickly, look for the long ball over the top more quickly, and get the ball to Leon and Ollie, Jhon, Rogers all get in the box for the cross or deflection.  We're not out of this, just need to execute a bit better.

The voice of reason. Well said sir but not sure it will be welcomed by the expert coaches on this thread.

Been coming a mile away. They just look better, simple as that. Dross like Moreno, Tielemans, Rogers, Duran etc just aren’t good enough against anything but relegation dross. Also, their right back has a mean cross on him

“Dross like Moreno” he was our superstar when he was injured people couldn’t wait for him to get back.

  8. Getting pissed about missing Champions league is ridiculous. We are not ready and everyone will get even more pissed when we do a Newcastle . We are far better getting experience in this year’s competition, moving on to the Europa league next season and building the squad over another year or two. 5 years ago today we beat Blues1-0 our current position is fairly impressive despite todays result. If you believe the comments on here most of our players are utter shit ( they really aren’t) so how realistically are they going to compete in the champions league? We can’t buy a new team for next season this is largely our squad going forward. It’s been good enough to get us this far which is way  beyond what most people realistically expected back in August. Aim high yes but also have some patience.

  9. Not surprising that the negative posters from the men’s thread have rocked up on here and continue to be negative possibly better if they stayed away, it’s not all about winning , the women’s game has many other avenues to develop and build .

  10. Why when we are up against it and under pressure do people look to blame individuals or the team as a whole and ignore the fact the opposition might deserve some credit for doing something well. Yes our defence didn’t look great second half but nor did Man Cities, Newcastle and Arsenals when they were conceding against the same kind of onslaught from wide areas. Lenglet doesn’t deserve the comments from some on here, he knows he is back up, but never gives less than 100% when called upon and is almost certainly the best 4/5 th choice centre back in the league. We don’t have this kind of depth in any other position.

“It was obvious that Oliver was only going one way and we kept putting ourselves in a position for him to give fouls “

By giving clear and obvious fouls away. If Konsa hadn’t pulled his player back when Cash had him covered they would not have scored their second goal. Nothing to do with ref he was giving fouls because we committed them

We faced down an opponent literally playing for league survival. They fought like tigers, and we put them to the sword. Bring on the next challenger ...

At last someone willing to give the opposition some credit, yes we were shit second half but Luton played a big part in causing that.
