It will be interesting to see how adidas/club approach the third kit. I still want a Black Sabbath link-up, black and purple style kit.

You want it, I want it, but our 3rd kit will be a Nottingham Forest home kit but in a weird colour.

Lets not forget where Leicester ended up after Champions League football either. Or Málaga (semi finalists) and Schalke in Germany.

So yeah not the holy grail but if we get it's let's bloody enjoy it and hope it does help us kick on but it's never certain.

One thing is for sure - CL qualification does no harm. It only benefits.

Leicester, Malago, Shalke, they all had problems different to a few fixtures on a Tuesday.

I totally agree with you, winning a trophy and taking my lad would be the pinnacle for me however I also think being in that champions league and him watching us mix it with all the teams that the glory hunters at school support would also be up there as a big moment and i think in modern football unfortunately is a bigger event for the club and our profile etc

Positive from the conference is i think we will have learnt so much as a team having had decent tests throughout and so it will stand us in good stead if we can get in the CL

I don't think I remember wanting to win a game more than I did the game last night.

I can only imagine wanting to beat Bayern Munich again would be an even bigger buzz!

So I get the reasoning. But, a European Trophy is something for the history books. Finishing 4th isn't; but it might give us a great platform to go forward.

Sorry, You can't pin any of the goals on Olsen. Blame the midfield and the defense instead...

I always try to defend Olsen. He is a good keeper in my opinion.

You are correct, none of the goals are his "fault".

However, when talking about a PL level goalkeeper, in the semi final of a European competition, I expect more. I expect a little extra.

I played in goal a little myself, and I know Olsen will be gutted. He should have done better on a few occasions.

Agents fees should be the responsibility of the players.

I think the fees for using matchday staff to serve us beer at VP should be the responsibility of the fans. It's an idiotic statement.

But it's the same principle. You use an agency to secure a certain good for your business.

Have you ever used a mortgage broker? Or maybe TUI? They are a 3rd party that provides a commodity that is more difficult to obtain themselves.

Agents charge clubs because clubs see value in paying say £1m extra for a transfer fee of £15m in order to secure a player they want.

It is what it is. If I am Morgan Rogers do I send my CV to all PL clubs and call football directors to negotiate a deal? Or ask an agent to do that for me?

    you said this too.

I dont understand are we like pretending that people in here dont demonize israel? :DDD

They are demonizing Israel. And Hamas. And Iran.

    Often rightly so.

Yes but Kamara will be out until new year realistically. We've Luiz, McGinn and Tielemans of the level required in CM. We need a bigger squad and it's difficult to afford it. The 70% squad cost rule artificially constrains us Vs teams not in Europe who don't have as many games to play like Palace or West Ham or Brighton.

It's difficult to compete in the level we are at the moment when the rules come into force. Next year 2025 we have to comply with the 70% rule in Europe. This year it's the 80% rule.

There will be challenges - but to people who say "we are not ready" (and I'm not saying that necessarily you) when would we be ready?

    What is ready?

I repeat myself, but is it 3 seasons of not playing CL and building a CL level squad? Because that doesn't happen. Is Porto CL ready? Is Fenerbahce CL ready? Maybe Prague? Were spurs ready when they reached the final?

Are we not a better team than spurs in that season?

    Is Girona ready?

We are not a Bayern or Madrid. We likely won't be for some time.

We need to get in, get some good transfers and results, and see what happens the next year. And the year after.

It's not the fact the games exist, it's the quality of the opposition. The group stages saw us field a lot of players we wouldn't start in the PL and we only had 6 group games and skipped the knock out phase. In the same period we would be playing 10 CL level opponents, means more required from our best players and 4 more games.

But we might play Sturm Graz, Monaco Fenerbhace and Stuttgard. Bring in another 3 players ready for first team, and we could have a week of playing say Spurs Saturday, Monaco Tuesday and Palace or Sunday.

With a midfield of Kamara, Luiz, Rogers, McGinn, Tielemans, Ramsey, Buendia and one more senior player, we could very realistically rotate to always have a competitive side.

I think there is no such thing as being 'ready' for CL football. What does that even mean? Having a CL worthy team for 3 years before you qualify for it?

I think there is a strong argument to say Watkins playing in Madrid on Tuesday will be even more fired up to score goals against Wolves at the weekend.

    I say bring it on.

Make no mistake, if we qualify for CL the new format will take a big toll on our League Performances. The schedule is insane especially as we will most likely end up between 9th and 24th in the Group stage and thus play CL 10 games by the 19th Feb. with game weeks 22nd Jan, 29th Jan, 11th Feb, 18th Feb. Smack bang in where the FA Cup is.

I think we are ceding the domestic cups in all seriousness while we compete in the top 2 European competitions for now.

Did European football take a toll on our performances this year? Maybe.

But that's not to say we will struggle at all, it will likely work out as less games than this season!

'Consistently' then - and Man City started Stones and Akanji in midfield.

And I don't think we played particularly well VS Arsenal at home - only 38% possession.

Stones and Akanji are no jokers. They are a part of one of the best teams in the world football.

McGinn just had a poor game. Like most of the team did.
