  1. Well thats case closed then Steve...

I agree to some extent with what hes saying but if we continue to censor what peeople can and can't say on the tv/radio then sooner rather than later its going to be diluted crap in every format?

Should we censor stand up comedians aswell so we end up with 100 lenny henry's? Or do we let them off but penalise tv presenters? I don't believe this is something that can have a firm line drawn on it in terms of whats acceptable and what isn't, the margins are just too small, its something that comes down to common sense, don't like it then don't watch it, simple as.

  2. I watch plenty of films on the internet, not a usual film I'd watch but thought I'd give it a go, can just click cancel after 15/20 mins if it ain't very good as well but turned out to be quite good...

I watched it and didn't think much of it to be honest, those easy going films are quite enjoyable usually but this just plodded along. I do like Emma Stone aswell :winkold:

  3. Watched Green Hornet today, enjoyed it thoroughly, underrated film imo. IMO the important thing is to remember that you're not watching a Spiderman or Dark Knight, in fact it's hardly a superhero movie at all if im perfectly honest. The main "villain" was brilliantly portrayed.

Seth Rogen needs to **** off though, totally miscast.

Chrisopher waltz was the person miscast IMO. How he went from Oscar worthy performance to a ham fisted and cliched villain I don't know.

  4. He's Scottish = English people seem to hate him... why?

I think English people aren't keen on him because in the past he has appeared to be anti-English.

Oh you must be talking about that ONE time where the reporter was giving him shite about scotland already being knocked out and then he was asked who he fancied to win it and said in a jokey way "anyone but england".

Im fully english and still support the bloke, great tennis player and hes british, thats good enough for me.

  5. Green Hornet is actually pretty good.

You have to leave your brain at the door but its an entertaining film, helps if you like seth rogen, but its his asian sidekick that steals the show (apparently quite a big pop star over there).

  6. People that go on holiday to the same place every year and wont even consider going anywhere else. My GF's parents go to the same place in Corfu every year, I could understand if it was cheap, but £1kpp for 2 weeks self catering? Blah! I know its none of my business and shouldn't bother me but it annoys the shit out of me how people are so unwilling to try anything new.

Yeah totally agree with this one, when you see rough looking families on holiday and it turns out they've been going there for 20 years, staying in the same apartment/hotel etc.. obviously none of your business but it makes me cringe sometimes.

Same applies to people unwilling to try new food, come across quite a few people in my time that only like "english" food. Oh the irony!

  7. People who listen to Heart or Magic.

Stop living in the **** past.

There is nowt wrong with listening to old music if it is good music. I'd take Led Zeppelin over My Chemical Romance any day of the week.

The problem with Heart or Magic isnt that they play old music, its that they play shite music.

Point taken but this is the things that piss you off that shouldnt thread :)

  8. Bet Free Six Fiiive..... Bet In Playyyy

    NAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

I personally love the bet365 adverts, when ray offers you his half time bet they actually come in quite a lot.

I dont bet on every one but i always take note of what it is and if you get a few losers in a row then i start backing them, had some tasty winners thanks to ray.

  9. I was reminded of a docu/film i saw about 18 months ago about those 2 explorers climbing a mountain and one of them ends up leaving the other for dead and he somehow makes it back down despite having broken legs, i thought that was very similar to this but i enjoyed that story a lot more than danny boyles film.

The film you remember is Touching the Void....

an unbelievable survival story and brilliant documentary, get it watched everyone!

    Excellent Mate.

Thanks for that, and now everyone has 2 reasons to watch this brilliant film.

  10. Seen a few films recently.

Black Swan - 7/10 film, good acting, decent pacing and a typical film for this director, got his style stamped all over it. Didn't quite connect with the film though.

127 Hours - 8/10, good film, nice performance by Franco who i think is a very underrated actor. Still lacked a little something for me though.

And soon the darkness 6/10 - got to keep my quota of $hit films up, im a sucker for the horror genre, this was your typical by the numbers film, bit like hostel but without the gore, 2 girls end up staying in a dodgy area and one of them gets abducted but the whole community seems to be in on it. Well directed but poor script, gets a bonus point for the lead female being Amber Heard who is absolutely gorgeous.

Also watched Hot Fuzz last night - 9/10 film. Absolutely brilliant film, original ideas, funny and tense in places, and a brit film to top it off.

  11. Absolute joke...

Expect us to fork out 15 quid every time there is a boxing event on and they can't even keep half the lineup intact.

Got robbed for haye v harrison, not going to be robbed again.

I'm not sure what you want them to do. Force Wlad and Gavin to fight when they aren't fit?

This is nothing like Haye vs Harrison. More fool you for paying £15 for that farce but don't let that taint the image of Boxing.

No i don't expect them to force unfit fighters to fight but maybe a discount on the listed price or something?

I bought the harrison - haye fight knowing it would be a joke but i expected some kind of undercard, they were so cagey about it on the run up i couldnt even find out and it ended up being one fight. Thats a piss take imo. A bit like expecting people to still pay full price even though 2 of the head line names aren't even fighting anymore.

  12. Friedel - 5 (starting to become a bit frustrated with mr friedel, not really at fault for the goals today in the same way he wasn't really at fault for the man united goals but we can't be letting in 2 every match without starting to look at the keeper imo.

L Young - 6 (battled and did ok but got caught out of position numerous times today.

Warnock - 6 (looked ok didnt really do much in the game)

Dunne - 5 (really starting to look like the player man city wanted to get rid of)

Clark - 6 (again ok but we lost 2 - 0 today so how much credit can you give him?)

Downing - 7 (motm for me, looked interested and carried the ball well again as he always does but theres no point in having an inform winger if the rest of the midfield don't push up and the fact that we havent had a fit striker for most the season)

A Young - 6 (ok game, some nice touches etc.. and the header off the bar but nobody got forward to make anything of his crosses or passing)

Ireland - 3 (absolute shit once again, doesn't track back, doesn't offer anything attacking wise, complete waste of a spot for someone who does care, even if its another youth player)

Bannan - 6 (another good game from bannan, couldnt really fault him but it just didnt quite click today)

Hogg - 4 (might have the workrate but couldn't have been more anonymous today, worked well when he was told to man mark fletcher against man u but without a clear plan for him today the game just passed him by, im not quite sure what his attributes are really, he isnt a physical presence, he doesnt have pace, doesnt seem to have a shot on him or an eye for a pass, seems like a poor mans gardner at the moment)

Agbonlahor - 6 (ran the lines well as always but there was never anyone in the box for him to pass to)

We were really poor today, you can't just expect to beat blackburn on their own patch, they are good at home and with so many kids playing today things were always looking bleak but they are a shit team, not sure if they are worse than stoke or not but whatever they play its not football in the true form.

We definitely play better football these days but without a clear gameplan like o'neil always had we are going to continue to lose away every time.

We really are the epitome of average these days, somewhat depressing to be honest.
