Oh ok. So i'm assuming you already know why your opinion means F A then.
Unfortunately for you mate, as a fellow fan on an internet forum, my opinion has about equal weight as yours.
I just happen to think how players carry themselves as 30yr old grown men is as equally important as what they produce on the pitch.

Did u even bother looking at the stats vs position played before making this statement? All you have to do is go a couple pages back through the thread, almost 50 percent of games played as a winger, in a team which were pretty much ALL shite in latter years. He got the deal because he showed enough to make it seem like he would become a valuable star and contributor. Was unplayable at times, called up for England, linked to Arsenal, critically acclaimed and actually feared by many a team and manager. We can also do the whole highlights reel, vital goals scored and being the top scorer thing all over but pointless. I'll try to make this my last comment on this as i feel like i'm going cenile. Lol
I couldn't care less about his stats

To be honest, unless you're a Sun journalist, I really don't get what's so difficult to understand. There are generally 30-50 coaches and tens of teams at large clubs all the way from juniors through to the first team, and someone needs to oversee this, the coaching, the sports science, the scouting network etc.

What does a Technical Director do?
Oversees all coaching and player development from kids through to the first team. Ensures there is a unified structure all the way through (eg. There is no point the u9s playing 4231 counter attack if the first team is playing 442 tiki taka). Makes sure relevant coaches are hired to implement this. I imagine all the sports science stuff falls under his remit too. Basically all the stuff the manager shouldn't have to do so he can focus on the first team.

Let's just hope he isn't like Given or Lescott who saw us as a nice place to retire with a solid pension and nice facilities.
From what I'm reading he doesn't seem to be that kind of player?
He 100% categorically will not be that type of player.
He captains his country for a reason

It's actually Mike.
His name is Michael John Jedinak. No idea where 'Mile' comes from.
It's Mee-leh
Comes from his Croatian heritage. Many post-war immigrant families gave their kids anglo names officially to help them fit in, but wouldn't surprise me if Mile was the name his family actually used growing up

wouldnt be my 1st choice but he always reminds me of Carew in a way. bit of a maverick who likes the good life
granted Bentdner a bigger dick than Carew but I think he is a player that needs to be loved and be the main striker
So Rijkaard was a hoax at Barcelona, and Bendtner is a good player that just needs to be loved? I despair...

His age? They are bringing someone better in? Contract status? You'd think a few PL clubs would be interested?
Same with Chester but I guess if he really is a villa fan then it makes sense as to why he'd come here. But Jedinak? Im glad of it for sure as I think he's a good player but I don't see why he's coming?
As an Aussie I watch him regularly... leadership wise he's outstanding, a great presence in the middle of the park. Technically, I would say he's a good midfielder for a bottom half PL side, and I get the impression that Palace have aspirations for more than that since their American investment (ie. someone to partner Cabaye).
I would take him at Villa in a heartbeat, if only because he would smack Gabby about for being a prick.

Why is everyone so fixated on 4-5-1/4-3-3. Ayew is wasted playing out wide and Grealish has trouble affecting the game no matter where he plays. I think we need McCormack and Ayew up top and then lock things up at the back. Those 2 will generate goals, but what we really need is to stop conceding nonsense goals, therefore 2 banks of 4 until this lot get themselves sorted out.
Agree.
I think a 4-3-1-2 Ancelotti style would be even better. 1 midfield enforcer, 2 central guys turning things over and Grealish in the hole behind the front two.
Gollini
De Laet Elphick Chester Amavi
Jedinak
Tish. Westwood
Grealish
Ayew. RMac
Looks pretty solid to me

£17m for a guy linked with some of Europe's biggest clubs, Is there a danger we could leave ourselves short due to being to ambitious?
To be fair 14th in Serie A is feasible to be competing with in today's money... this isn't the 90's anymore

Wouldn't be a fan of this, why is Tony picking out transfer targets? RDM should be the one picking who he wants not our owner.
I think you're reading too much into the phrasing. I'm think he just means the midfielder Xia referred to yesterday

That single miskick cost us a point. I think 8/10 is very generous.
Did you watch the game?
Alongside Elphick, his shot stopping, high balls & kicking (until that point) had basically EARNED us a point. Would have been 9 or 10 until that point. Not bad for a 22 yr old on debut.
If it was a Guzan mistake I would agree but I was very impressed with his all-round game for a young keeper

I think more interesting than Hernandez is a few twitterati including MyOldManSaid alluding to Gareth Barry...

Wait, I'm not clear... Does Hernandez have a release clause or not?

Err how do you figure that? I said the bid wasn't officially public ie. In the media. I didn't say it wasn't official.

'If Aston VIlla call me', surely if we were about to bid or already have done, then we would have contacted the player by now. Maybe Wells, Bamford or someone else more likely.
I'm not sure our bid is officially public so I guess he's just covering himself

He really is just a wing back. Kick and chase to beat the man, good crossing, average defending, contribute the odd goal etc - these are his attributes. If he stopped dicking about with delusions of grandeur and just focused on one position and putting in hard work in the mould of some of the great wing backs like Cafu, Zanetti and Roberto Carlos then he could actually be a decent player. **** if he even got to the level of Elmohamady I would be happy.
(Note I said decent, not good or amazing)
