I just watched the goals again about 10 times here:
I really have no idea what the **** you're all on about
Goal 1: It bounced in front of him. Keepers are coached to parry bouncing balls. Could have been MAYBE a bit more to the side. Amavi asleep for the rebound.
Goal 2: Wtf was Westwood doing for the assist, holding the midfielders hand? Chester up out of the line. Finish was decent for 1v1
Goal 3: He didn't need to take any steps before the leap, so positioning was fine for me, finish was top corner.
Where's the problem? Or are you all just looking for a scapegoat?

As officially the Technical Director doesn't start yet, anyone think we'll be spending a lot again in January?
No. I don't think he'll have much to do with transfers.

Just saw the goals, what the **** are you lot on about?

Just saw the goals on 5. What **** GK mistakes are people on about?

Wait, what happened?
To be fair, they were absolute demons, especially Gaddafi and Saddam. Their crimes are well documented and it really doesn't matter whether some people view them as heroes.
**** knows how Mao got into this discussion in the first place though.
Tony quoted Mao a few days ago

Which is basically the line of questioning of ianrobo for which he is being pilloried
"Line of questioning" is a bit generous. He and Keith haven't exactly been too civilised for the parts I've seen.
It's been pretty "conspiracy theorist angry rant" bordering on libel for the most part.

"Chris never officially on board especially with these rumors we won't make more confusions. Banfill is legal advisor"
"No more rumors! Chris and the Socfin helped the takeover and we paid for service. Never was related to Recon!"
According to Companies House, Samuleson was appointed director at Recon Sports LTD on 20 July. His appointment was then terminted on 8 August. (https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10176070/filing-history).
As I've said before, I trust the Doc and I don't think there's something fishy about his ownership. But on this point regarding Samuelsons involvment, his tweets are simply not correct. It's unfortunate as it nourishes conspiracy theories.
To be fair there are plenty of routine reasons why people are added temporarily as company directors, especially in the early days. It gives them the legal right to sign documents in the companies name, otherwise every little thing (from accounts, legal, HR, paying invoices etc etc) would be waiting for Dr Tony's signature, and I think he probably has better things to do with his time.

IanRobo is a good guy. I don't agree with everything he says - and actually we are usually debating a number of things we disagree on, but he is a great bloke.
Can somebody clear something up for me? Has Xia said Samuelson wasn't on the board? I thought he was announced as being on the board, but then moved to Recon, or am I mistaken?
To be fair, he has been going off on one about bankers and Samuelson and how it's a big conspiracy to bleed money out of the club to a Swiss bank account and they are all criminals and the FBI and asset stripping etc etc etc for months now. Been pretty tiring and a bit libelous if I'm being perfectly honest...

Seems midfielders don't get rated unless they're scoring goals, dribbling past players, or making lots of tackles in front of the defense. Players with Westwood's style only get attention if they happen to play for one of the 'big clubs'. Probably a British football thing.
Piss off, I'm Australian. My coaches growing up were a Dutchman, a German and a Italian (no this is not the beginning of a joke). My football education was continental and Westwood is still shit.

I think he'll change a lot of people's minds this season, not just because we're playing against weaker opposition, but also because he'll be playing with better players, who'll be more tuned into his wavelength.
What wavelength is that?
"Receive ball, look forward.. no no can't play a pass into feet, look sideways... dither... dither.. uh oh midfield has been closed down, need to play it back to centre half for a long ball upfield"

I doubt it, if clubs bid for players it's because they want to sign them.
To be fair, we don't actually know if we've bid.
All we know is that Percy has been told by *someone that we've bid.
(where someone is villa, west ham, the players agent or someone else)

This post
illustrates this point
perfectly.
You view him as such a big reason that we declined as a club, that you aren't willing to give him a fair chance regardless of what he does, or how he plays.
The Sheff Wed game was the epitomy of Westwood's time at Villa.
I didn't even notice he was playing until he had that chance fall to him in the 55th minute. He wasn't running the game, wasn't cycling play, wasn't playing forward balls, wasn't tackling, wasn't anything.
On his good day he does move the ball around a bit, back and forth across the field and moves the opposition around a bit, but honestly the lack of ANY other part of his game (tackling, forward balls, creating chances, getting in the box to score goals etc) makes him virtually useless as a central midfielder. He is not a Paul Scholes, he is not an Andrea Pirlo, or any of the other "deep lying playmaker" tags you want to give him.

Say what you wan't/hate Joey Barton all you want, but pretending like he wasn't/isn't a good player is frankly laughable.
I'm not saying Joey Barton isn't "good" (for some definition of good).
I was making the point that Joey Barton played for City, Newcastle & QPR and has 1 England cap and Schweinsteiger played for Bayern & Man Utd and captained a World Cup winning German team. If Barton at the age of 35 can rip up the Championship, then what a 32 year old BS could do doesn't bear thinking.
Anyway, its tabloid rubbish so a moot point.

Leicester fan here. Decent signing for the championship, it's a level where his issues won't be as obvious as they were in the premier league.
His positioning isn't the best, he has a tendency to rush in to a challenge and get bypassed... but he's rapid and gets himself out of loads of problems with his pace. And he loves bombing forward, might not create a huge amount, as the final ball isn't really there. But his link up play is ok and he'll gain you loads of ground and get you into dangerous position.
He served us just fine in a team that mullered the league. So I don't see any issues with the signing at all, he'd be one you'd look to shit to backup upon promotion though.
If you think De Laet doesn't create a huge amount with no final ball, you really should spend some time watching Alan Hutton

Anyone gives me an accurate pronunciation of 'De Laet' please? I assume it is Dutch?
"ae" in most European languages is like "air", so then De L-air-t but most English commentators seem to say De Laht so I think you could get away with anything vaguely similar

I have to disagree. His handling isn't clean, and positioning, especially for free kicks looks very suspect IMO
I have to disagree with your disagreement. Which handling in particular wasn't clean?
He claimed all high balls in the Wednesday game without dropping any, and punched well in the Derby game. Which incidents are you remembering?

I ask again, what did he do wrong at Bristol that everyone keeps talking about? I've watched the goals plenty of times but I don't see nothing Dimitri.
Sounds like Groupthink to me
