I wonder if the ECB read VillaTalk; I have been querying the appointment of Ramprakash for ages; just hope his replacement can stiffen up England's (seemingly) fragile batting. Looks as if it could be Thorpe but I did wonder if they would find a role for Trott - particularly with Ashley Giles at the helm. Now - I really hope Ashton Agar rips up trees for Warks but how the hell did DURHAM !! get D'Arcy Short and Cameron Bancroft !!! Warks aiming low again ?

Isn't Thorpe already one of the batting coaches?

We could have 4 English clubs in the last 8 of the champions league. That must be a first?

    Nope.

In 2007/8 Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool all there, and 3 of them made the semis.

In 2006/7 there was 3 in the last 4 as well.

2008/9 Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool all there again, and once more 3 made the last 4.

PSG were robbed that was never a pen. Var causing massive problems by shit referring. If your going to give a pen for that you will be giving maybe two a game. The guy wasn’t even facing the ball, it was close and his arm was not completely out.

    It stinks for me

I think VAR is shite personally, but if you're going to throw yourself in front of the ball with your arms out, then if it hits your arm it's a dead set penalty. It wasn't as if the ball just hit him as he stood there, he tried to block it with his body. Very unlucky though.

    cos its shit

(which would possibly be funny if it was actually shit, but it actually looks quite good)

New Zealand is an awesome place, love it.

I'll also throw Oceania into the mix for that area as a term that was thrown about a lot in the 70s/80s but seems to have fallen by the wayside.

I don't really get this blaming managers for the club living way beyond its means. They have no control over the purse strings. They will be given a budget and 99 out of 100 managers will spend it. Some will also go cap in hand, either directly or apply pressure via the media, for more.

    This, entirely 100% this.

  6. That's a penalty for me all the way. Kimbempe throws himself in the way to block the shot, and it hits his arm. Not sure how having his back to the ball makes any difference, he was trying to block the shot and he did. Very unlucky, but the moment the ref called for VAR, Kimbempe knew he was screwed.

If Lerner had ran out of money how come he spent big on Bent?

Panicking at the prospect of relegation I suspect - we were sitting in 18th at the start of January that season!

But I guess he knew what was coming. He knew Lerner had run out of money.

MON was the first to see what was coming I think, and wisely buggered off before the shit hit the fan. I don't blame him in the slightest - the remainder of Lerner's tenure was an absolute disaster, and without MON it would have probably been an absolute disaster from the start.

No mention Klopp altercation with the ballboy, shows again the happy act is a farce. I think he would have done something stupid until he realised where he was

They haven't gone for the "specialist at keeping teams up" alladyce?

When . They come down if they were smart they would go for. Monk.

Too late for someone like that I think - I guess that's what they were hoping for when they got Ranieri. Now they're preparing for next season.
