The missus works with a Newcastle fan, and he said to me a couple of weeks ago that he doesn't understand why I'd even bother supporting a championship club that never wins any trophies.

Reckon the West Ham away is great, but the home is revolting. Be nice to see some proper claret and blue back in the top flight instead of these poor imitations.

Anyone still doubting Archer? So good to have a genuinely fast and fearsome quick in an England team.

It worried me what McGinn said post match
I wouldn't worry about that, seeing them on social media it seems that McGinn, Jack and Mings seem to be on permanent missions to wind each other up and take the piss!

21 years old, 26 goals in a season. Sure, he might not be good enough for Chelsea at the moment, but I'd be pretty damn happy if we manage to sign him up.
-
If we go up to 15 million, then we'd better be getting all the spare heads AND the groinal attachment.

I know its the clubs fault but sickening a player like McCormack gets a pay rise for doing **** all
In fairness he's got better and better at doing **** all, so perhaps the rise is justified

I've liked what I've seen of Steer, happy to have him start as our no1 keeper next season.

They seem to really dislike Frank Lampard for some reason.
I don't understand it.
They're Leeds. Lampard was Chelsea. That's all there is to it. A lot of hatred between those two two clubs!

Seeing this table from March 1st, remarkable to think that Leeds lost out on promotion to the side sitting 13th

England will never have a better chance of winning the world cup but somehow I expect them to screw up. Its amazing we have never won it. New Zealand are a good outside bet.
Spoken like a true England fan!
Win this world cup and we'll rightfully be considered one of the great ODI sides of all time. We've absolutely hammered India and Australia in one-dayers of late, and I think they're our main competition. Hopefully we'll get our inevitable awful batting collapse out of the way in the group stages...

Enjoyed the championship. Nice to be winning, nice to be competitive. In retrospect I reckon that losing the play-off last year has been an absolute blessing. With this team and decent owners I think we can now go up aiming for something a little better than 17th. If we do good business over the summer we can be a top half team.

Signing him up should be our first priority this summer.
-
Jack's going nowhere now. Captaining his boyhood team back in the PL. I think there's no chance of him leaving whatsoever.
-
We so need to sign this guy permanently.

The Ashcroft v Jagger/Richards battle finally ends. Would be interested to get an idea on how much Andrew Oldham has made over the years from the song.
I think Loog Oldham got no songwriting credits, but he got mechanical royalties for the string sample. Jagger & Richards got the writing credits, yet Ashcroft sampled the Loog Oldham cover of the Stones song. But the sample is basically entirely Loog Oldham's work, Jagger & Richards had nothing to do with the classic string piece that was sampled. Loog Oldham had to sue The Verve for his money I think.
Lots of people saying that Ashcroft now deservedly getting the credit back for Bittersweet Symphony, but without Loog Oldham's cover, Bittersweet Symphony would never have existed.

What's that background about?
Why is the sponsor so awful?
What the **** is that black bit?
What's going on with the sleeve?
Why is he posing like that?
Why is the collar so shit?
Why is the photo so close that you can't even see the whole kit?
Why did they settle on THAT photo to be the promo photo?- 2

yes very sudden. Feel a need to go back and rewatch and read about his battle with Hunt again. I loved the film Rush, but remember being even more pleased to learn they were actually always good friends.
Liked this pic of Niki wearing a James Hunt t-shirt

Can totally see where you're coming from, and I'm maybe basing it a little bit on the hype, but there's a massive clamour from some respected pundits (and Michael Vaughn) to include him. I'm also going on that spell in the abandoned game against Pakistan. To quote Pantera, ******* hostile!
I watched him so much in the last two years, I'm with Flintoff and Vaughan on this one too... far too good to leave out.
Thanks to the BBL and IPL, Archer also has a lot of experience against many of the batsman he'll be facing, much more so than most our other bowlers.
That said, I imagine we'll be rotating those bowlers throughout the tournament, and none of them present a weak link. Great situation to be in.

So you'd change the balance of the squad with an extra bowler instead of a batter?
The two are not interchangeable as they perform different roles in the team.
We bat so deep it doesn't matter. Vince is a reserve only, and if he plays - unlike Hales - he weakens the batting line up. I'd rather have the additional bowling option available to call upon.

I think Allardyce gets unfairly lumped in with these guys. Sure, same generation and somewhat dull football, but unlike the others he always gets results - has improved league positions of every club he's managed.
