Anyone dismissing the notion of tiredness being an issue needs to consider two things.

    1) The mental preparation for each game based on the level of analysis Emery and his team drive into the players.

    2) The physical fatigue. Spurs have played 38 games so far this season, with 3 to go. Moussa Diaby alone has made 51 appearances. That's a HUGE disparity.

    Just for the visual effect

Diaby 51 appearances, Leon, McGinn, Dougie and Ollie 50 appearances, Ezri 47 appearances, Dibu 45 appearances (same for Matty and Youri). Digne's made 43 appearances. The numbers are staggering when you consider the injuries just how many the core squad has competed in.

Why are the dickheads on here always dickheads?

The very loud minority who love to post overtly negative stuff in the match threads seem to revel a little too much in a loss and poor performance. It's not even constructive most of the time.

I’m not actually sure what he offers us. For me he is one player we must improve on. Hes abysmal at right back. Either play him cb or not at all.

He's a great, effective ball carrying centre back and very reliable in one-v-one scenarios. The systems, however, meant he's either playing a hybrid role and too exposed at right back. I think with with better options at full back, we see him at his preferred position.

He's not at fault for absolutely **** no-one turning up at the far post, Digne can see what's happening and stays 20 yards away, one of the three players in the 6 yard box should react and get in the way and mark their player.

He doesn't close the initial ball over the top, gets himself in a pickle and shouldn't allow the cross. Digne's at LWB, the goal of marking falls on the CBs there. He's too advanced to get back anyways. There's a lot of errors individually across the park, including Cash giving the ball away in the build up creating the space for the ball over the top to begin with. On a different day, Pau blocks the cross.

Love Konsa but he’s struggled a bit this past few weeks. Tiredness I guess.

    Cracking player

As good as he is, he still makes mistakes, cost us some goals tonight. Where's the criticism?

I’m sure you could find a stat to argue against everything and anything.

    Diaby is rubbish

So his goals and assists mean nothing? You can't have it both ways

I thought we were the better side in both games, but we need to learn how to manage games and how to make it count - that's certainly a lesson we can take from the opposition - they're brutally efficient.

Olympiacos were smart, they were organised, they were calm, they defended absolutely brilliantly and they took their chances, they deserve to go through to the final and I hope they win it.

We're out for the count, the players are knackered, but I don't think you can fault the effort, I thought we played well in the first half and though our heads dropped in the second half, this will still do them a lot of good next season and in the long run - they'll have learned an awful lot from this run and it'll stand them in good stead for the future.

Tonight we were out-thought and lacked the creativity to break them down, individually, we were mostly okay, I thought Doug did well in the middle of the park, McGinn too, but we really needed another midfielder - when we were on top, too often the ball bounced off Diaby - Bailey looks like he's playing in a lot of pain and Cash lacks a little composure in forward areas - but the effort was there, I don't think anyone can complain of lack of effort or heart - we just came up against a brick wall of very smart footballers and we ran out of ideas.

We'll strengthen and we'll come again, I have no doubt about that. It's a shame to lose this tie, but it's been good to be back in Europe and we've done plenty we'll remember.

Too naive when it mattered. Just needed to up the tempo but didn't. They exploited our weaknesses effectively and way more clinically. I don't think you will see a more freakish game than the 4-2 loss. We started well, but the sucker punch of a goal left us just directionless. We need some good attacking runs, but lacked the self belief to really go for it.

He’s barely contributed to where we are.

Six goals and 7 assists in the league. Stop embarrassing yourself with such clear nonsense claims like this.

  9. Cash started as a winger but doesn’t have the agility either. What’s been good about his play before is his dynamism. Making a cross. He just refused to do it. He dived instead of throwing himself at a good chance. He’s got the ability but his decision making makes his play so easily readable and defend against. I appreciate that he really did try. He’s a grafter. But he doesn’t have the brain to be at the level we move towards. Handy in the squad for sure. But we saw the best and worst of him tonight.
