Nagelsmann extended his contract last week

That's even more shocking then, we will see this summer but I don't think nagelsmann has done a good job, germany look a bit lost at the moment

Kompany is a bad appointment which could be made to look even worse when klopp goes somewhere else, alternatively if klopp takes time off kompany won't cost a lot to get rid of when klopp is ready to take over, that would probably be my guess, he's a cheap gap filler

  2. Rice has been good for arsenal

the problem is with the way England set up he'll be looking to get 80+ touches of the ball and he's not great at it, I still don't think he shows for the ball enough, Maguire and Stones will have the ball at their feet and rice wont be picking up the positions he'll be needed in to actually get us forward

wont help that harry kane will be playing alongside him trying to do the same

  3. there's a bar next to the hard rock cafe called Berăria H Herastrau

its genuinely ridiculous in there, not sure how many people it fits but its got to be pushing a few hundred, its a huge place

the 6 hours all day bender i spent in there was probably a bit too much...

i also got the train to Brasov to go see draculas castle, 3.5 hours i think it was, problem being that by the time we got there everyone was a bit peckish, the bar we went for food also happened to sell beer...4 hours later i got the 3.5 hour train back, 7 hour round trip to see 3 bars in brasov

Interesting thing to me is Bellingham has been named as a forward for this? I assume that just means he'll play the most advanced of the three CMs rather than dropping deeper.

I think in that case Maddison probably misses out as you could also play Foden off the striker. Or Eze.

It's interesting the midfield. It's good to see in form options like Mainoo and Wharton but there's very few caps generally given the other options are Curtis Jones and Gallagher.

This is what @villa4europe was alluding to after the last World cup. Likes of Brazil/Germany immediately try out new players in the friendlies right after the tournament. Southgate has messed around continually picking Henderson and Phillips and now surprise surprise neither are in any shape to play a tournament and the replacements are very young with hardly any caps. He's not going to experiment starting TAA in central midfield suddenly in a major tournament either.

Barely calling up an LB given he's said Shaw getting fit is "a long shot" is also bizarre. Gomez is just a filler, would've made more sense to call up Colwill as he at least played there for Chelsea for half a season.

England will certainly be more defensively vulnerable compared to all the other tournaments under Southgate so basically only hope is Foden and Bellingham are both unplayable throughout it. Neither have hit the heights for England that they have for their club...yet.

Exactly that, international football is all about the cycles, the last one was kicked out because of euro 21 but knowing that we had a central midfield problem straight after the u21s won it last summer he should have looked at Jones, Elliot, Ramsey even skipp but he didn't, he's had mainoo land on his lap but he's not even tried to fix the midfield that killed us Vs France at the world cup

As much as Gerrard and Coutinho were expensive mistakes, and his limelight show was a bit annoying, those things definitely helped make Villa more 'noticeable' and spoken about more.

That was potentially something that helped to convince Emery and some of players to join.

Either way, we're in our best position for 40 year's, when only 5 year's ago we were in the Championship.

Purslow clearly helped with that and will have done more good than bad. For that, I'm grateful to him.

    I liked his limelight show

For all villa fans give out about us being a massive club and for where we were at the time I have absolutely no doubt purslow waltzed in to the PL meetings and acted like what we all think villa are

I personally dont think these trophies he has won at city comes close to him feep doen to when he got promoted with us at villa.

You could see how much that meant to him and he was a massive part of that. All the stuff at city he has contributed to winning those trophies has been very minimal.

He has been a flop for me and i still maintain that. Citeh should try cash in this summer as he might still have a couple seasons left to atrract other clubs. Cant see people paying the wages if they leave it to next summer and then he will just leave on a free

He wouldn't get the helmans deal playing for villa though 😜

But seriously he wouldn't get the Gucci deal and he definitely wouldn't get the record breaking puma deal

I think city cash in when their growth because of him peaks, not a clue if that's happened yet, maybe they wait and see what the euros brings, as it is I don't think he'll play that much, their judgement on him and the £100m will be based on metrics we will never see

And I said this before the biggest problem city have with jack is the year later they signed a proper global shirt seller in haaland, I'm not sure they need him anymore because of that

  7. They're starting a conspiracy theory that every time Grealish wins the league city have to pay us more money

We threw the game last season on the last day

We beat arsenal on purpose this year

All so we could get more out of the transfer fee

    😂😂😂😂😂😂

Can’t see it being anything but this team if anyone is fit on Matchday one:

    …………..…..…..Pickford………………………..

    Walker…..Stones……Maguire …..Trippier

    ………….Gallagher……..Rice……….

      Saka..…..Bellingham……..Foden

    ………………....…Kane….………………..

If all fairness, we’re very strong offensively but light in midfield if we have an injury/suspension and certainly at the back. I don’t like the fella but I would have taken Henderson just as a back up and to close out games.  Can’t honestly see us winning it and you’d have to fancy France here but we should make the Semi Finals.

Said this before as a bit of an out there thought....the guy we should be bringing on to close games out is Ollie Watkins

We should press aggressively up top, keep the ball as far away from our goal we possible

We have the players to do it too

Looks good but the hashbrowns and beans look over cooked whilst the bacon might as well be called ham.

nah, to me you have to burn the bean juice off so that its providing a bit of wet without getting juice everywhere (kw) and the hash browns are there for texture, got to have a crunch to them

bacon does look a bit anemic

biggest problem with it was the bread was good german brown bread but it didnt absorb the butter very well and didnt make decent fried bread

while understandable the player himself has flopped as well

The highlights of his City career is probably him celebrating drunk.cant think of 3 good football moments in a City jersey

Depressing thing is instill don't think they bought him for football moments

They bought him for school kids in Kent to go get his hair cut

Basically a carbon copy of his first season as he was unused sub v us when they won it on final day in 2022.

They got a decent season out of him in the treble year but coming up to 30 so hard to see him getting back in and making a major impact.

Also got Savio coming in from Girona over the summer, not sure if he plays left or right but Grealish days are numbered there now unless he remodels himself as a central midfielder.

Man city are stock piling them too...

They already bought Phillips and didn't play him, they then bought the wolves guy and don't play him, now they're linked with paqueta or Bruno

They've also got another argie teenager on the way

They just buy whoever the **** they feel like

He cost 100 million, he is the 7th highest transfer fee of all time and cant get a game

Of course its being discussed, he is the club record transfer for the richest club in the world and yet starts less than half the league games per season

Which says far more about man city and their transfer policy

£100mnon a player they didn't need or seemingly their manager didn't want and no one bats an eyelid

  13. Yeah the obvious problem with the sequels is that it's a trilogy that bizarrely was written as 3 films rather than 1 and then broken up, they're an incoherent mess with an absolute joke of a 3rd film

There's more good in the prequels imo

There's also far more good surrounding the prequels, which is part of what makes them so disappointing, the clone wars cartoons and books were excellent, even characters like GG are good characters completely butchered in the film

That said rogue one is maybe the 2nd or 3rd best SW film so to say Disney are doing SW wrong isn't quite true, Andor is right up there as best SW content too, unfortunately though they've spent too long with no show runner (something they've fixed) so even something like the mandalorian which was ok (but only ok, it's not as good as people make out) was the same as the films it felt like incoherent writing that they made up as they went along

There will definitely be some punishment, but it’ll be a relative slap on the wrists which is pre-agreed with the owners to avoid any embarrassment.

Transfer ban for a window or 2, points deduction greater than 10 but far less severe than it should be.

It’ll be a record, but also won’t do that much harm either.

Maybe in return for not appealing, rules on FFP will be relaxed going forwards.

They finished 25 points ahead of spurs in 5th who had 66 points

So in theory if they'd have finished 2nd in the PL this season on say 88 points they could have had a huge record breaking that'll teach em severe punishment of a 20 point deduction...would achieve absolutely **** all, that's the golden opportunity the PL will take to get out of jail, they just need city to not win the league

All true, but he never did an awful lot in those games really. Not for someone who cost £100m and was one of the highest paid in the country.

That’s why people are suggesting he might be a flop. Getting 20+ games a season is “ok”, but in those games he rarely looked top quality.

Based on him having the most chances created in open play in the last years CL I thought that in general the stats that he was good at for us he's still good at and the stats that he was shit at he's still shit at

And even then most of it seems to be how pep uses him, he's definitely on a leash and boring as **** compared to how he played for us
