Having a poo.
One of the most relaxing and satisfying parts of the day .
Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
It's why I don't believe in a God.
Your missing out legov. You can get a good 45 minutes to yourself with a good bottom emptying session. Just you, a good book, magazine, internet on smartphone etc..... no distractions. Good thinking time as well.
You know you've had a good shite when you've been in there long enough to get pins and needles in your legs.
I can't believe anyone would spend that long on the toilet.
Nor me.
2 mins to drop the log, 3 mins to wipe properly. 5 minutes and done
Even that is a long time, feel it dropping, get it out, wipe and move on feeling fresh and empty for the day ahead.

Just book a normal holiday to Ibiza and get absolutely hockeyed.
This, and even if you do insist on going dont pay for the fortune for the bar crawls you can just tag on to the end and even if you miss out on the free shot of sticky syrup you can still check out the girls.
Some of the trips might be ok but choose carefully and don't bother with too many as over priced

Have to agree with the rev on this one. I have been on 2, the first one when I was 21 (in malia....ok but seen better places) and had a ball, filth everywhere (literally Malia wasn't the cleanest place).
The second one (Kavos.............do not go there) we were 26 and it was boring as hell, we hadn't changed but it was just full of little kids that annoyed the **** out of us and the girls didn't even look at us as they were also little kids

I pretty much always have a bottle of wine on a friday night while catching up with sky+, its my me time.

Oooo got another one I was in the same year and friends with Glen Livingstone who was a reserve and youth team goalkeeper for the mighty aston villa.
He also played for England U18's and youth.
I remember standing in a radio rentals in torquay watching him on the telly playing for england (not the whole game I hasten to add, that would be really wierd)

My dad was friends with John Le Mesurier and Hattie Jacques in the 60's when he ran a bowling alley in London (My dad ran the bowling alley not John and Hattie)

Snow Hill to New Street is a 10min walk. Or you can go to Moor Street instead which is 5min walk to New Street. Not sure this is necessary.
I was going to say this.
Why not invest in some nice new big signs for people to follow

What a worrying list. McCarthy, Bruce, Allardyce, Warnock, Pearce ...deary me.
Redknapp probably deserves to get it or a foreign manager.
That was my thought, it is a pretty uninspiring list.

Yeah Mad Men is brilliant!
Love the fact that they when they get to work, the first thing they do is to have a drink of scotch.... oh what a life that would have been.
Mad Men is just so good, cannot wait for the new series in March. Also just watching Pan Am, which even though based on the airline is very much like mad men, worth a go to be honest

Used to see him and his horrible arrogant mates around Solihull all the time, wonder if brings him down to earth with a f**kin big crash.

From a selfish point of view I would prefer it if they started at the places that would get greater benefit of reduction of times to London (I live in Newcastle) .
I am assuming there is a logistical reason for starting with Birmingham to London, be that cost, it being used as a hub site etc but on the basis that completion of this link alone not being completed for 14 odd years I dread to think of the timescales for other parts of the country.
If I was on twitter I might finish off with #whenimdead..........or whatever it is
I think Newcastle has seen substantial improvements in the speed of service over the last sixty years; I think the steam service (Silver Jubilee) used to be over four hours, and since then its tumbled to two hours and thirty seven with trains running at over 125mph. The ECML has always been a ‘faster line’ and BR certainly experimented with trains going over 140 mph. The line could go in parts up to 160mph
If I recall correctly the train times Birmingham Euston have actually gone up since BR and the line has simply run out of capacity and capacity to get quicker.
I guess also they see Birmingham as a place to start and from here build outwards, so you get the speed also of being able to get from Birmingham to say Glasgow if you need to scout Steven Davies in the year 2050
I am more keen on increasing the speed from Newcastle to Birmingham than to London to be honest

surely the new times would be more appealing if they showed how quickly you could get out of the city and into London
as a marketing ploy "you are only 1 hr 40 mins from Newcastle" is one of the worse since Pants man
but just think how appealing marketing slogans of
Yas anny yen hoor 40 minutes form Lundun
or
Theur are onny 1 'ahr 20 minutes fra london village , gerr eur sitta for thy whippet ,pick up thy cloth cap 'n nip on see t' civilised world
would be to people in Newcastle or Sheffield
But then people like me who still after 6 years of living up here struggle with the local view of english would really be buggered

Is it a waste of money? Depends what its compared to. Would it better to spend the money on improving the NHS? Improving the education system? On tax cuts? The money spent on this would have long term benefit, far beyond our lives.
Ultimately the line IMO should be the beginning of a widespread high speed network across the country.
Birmingham 1h 10m 0h 55m
Manchester 2h 08m 1h 06m
Leeds 2h 05m 1h 25m
Liverpool 2h 8m 1h 15m
Newcastle 2h 50m 1h 40m
Edinburgh 4h 05m 2h 06m
Glasgow 4h 20m 2h 32m
The benefits to Birmingham aren’t quite as impressive as the times to the rest of the country.
I also think that the who network needs improving; widespread electrification and investment.

Mad Men for me

Haha, yeah, that's annoying. What gets me as much as that is that you can not say something like "it's a squad game, you will get games if you're patient and continue to work hard in training", it seems to be my way, or the highway and that's the end of it.
It pisses me off when I tell them I will let them go out on loan, they are happy with that, I put them on the loan list and no one wants them and then they see it as I have broken my promise.
Bloody footballers

Just finished Jo Nesbo's HeadhuntersRoger Brown is a corporate headhunter, and he’s a master of his profession. But one career simply can’t support his luxurious lifestyle and his wife’s fledgling art gallery. At an art opening one night he meets Clas Greve, who is not only the perfect candidate for a major CEO job, but also, perhaps, the answer to his financial woes: Greve just so happens to mention that he owns a priceless Peter Paul Rubens painting that’s been lost since World War II—and Roger Brown just so happens to dabble in art theft. But when he breaks into Greve’s apartment, he finds more than just the painting. And Clas Greve may turn out to be the worst thing that’s ever happened to Roger Brown.
Brilliant and very easy to read, regardless of it being set in Norway!!!
Worth checking out.
I have just finished the first (in english) of his Harry Hole books the redbreast, very good book looking forward to reading the rest of them
