  1. i said last season we needed to look at moving friedel on and getting oin a quality younger keeper, that is still the case as it is clear guzan for all his penalty saves last season, is not a reliable keeper.

pretty much everyone on here has already said that the following players are shit

    beye, sidwell, heskey, curtis davies

well sidwell had an excuse tonight, the other 3 didnt, if it helps they get between them i would guess £120,000 for their work this week.

i bet MoN is pissing his turn coat pants at us.

the only player who played who wasnt part of MoN 's team was albrighton ( he played well and was rightly extremly **** off at NRC for not passing him the ball when we were winning and he was completely free with acres of space to attack with support already in the middle of the park).

all three of the goals were mistakes by expensive flops. beye is shakey enough on the right but putting him at left back was **** retarded, playing cuellar at right back? we may as well have played beye at right back and cuellar at left back, at least it would only be one player out of poition.

it would mean curtis 'im shit' davies would not get on the pitch and cuellar could have played in the middle leicha could have played at right back for **** sake.

NRC was half good and half shit tonight. HE should be the one holding not ireland, he was bought to be effective in the final third not haiving to do petrov and NRC's job.

if we play young how we played him tonight then we cant play ireland as we are too weak in the middle.

i think i may not bother even watching for free for the next couple games, it seems like a waste of my time, i described in another thread i was feeling 'meh', that feeling is continuing until something exciting happens with the apointment of a top manager and the signing of a true top quality player.

  2. the only positive thing is hopefully lerner will have his hand forced pay the **** money for a top manager NOW before we lose the next 4 games and concede 3 or 4 each game.

reserve manager and manager are NOT the same job.

reserve manager KMac is great, no arguements

manager? he is not cut out for us yet.

it should also show that certain over paid players signed by the last manager should be removed from the first team squad, i would rather they not be named in the 25 and youth players took their place at least that way they would be forced to look elsewhere because at the moment they wont **** move.

  3. and so we start the free fall

i would have posted on the matchday thread how ever ironically i get this message

    PNphpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

critical error indeed curtis 'im shit' davies habib 'im shit beye brad 'im shit ' guzan petrov 'i can kick for shit' petrov

and emile ' im shot full stop and only scored because the ball smacked into me and i couldnt control it' heskey

we deserve all we get with this shower of shit

  4. on talksport this morning ( i listen to it while i do my cardio, it is better than listening to traffic reports) it was in the rumours bit that klaas huntelaar is wanted by both spurzz and also villa but if we dont get a manager in place he would not sign for us.

just the normal rubbish speculation although i cant imagine defoe, crouch, keane and pavlchenko being happy which would either mean keane or pav are going

if we could sign someone of the stature of huntelaar then i doubt there would be a problem with empty seats which i bet causes some concern to the board.

getting klaas and given and selling brad friedel to fulham so that swartzer can go to arsenal and off loading heskey o the cheap SHOULD keep the payments levels reasonably simular to what they are now with the added bonus that we have a keeper for the next 3 years and a star player who would guarantee sales of shirts, season tickets and fll the ground out each game.

    i can only dream.

  5. Usual to see the back room staff move on once a manager has left. After all, most of the back room staff are there because of the manager, and will follow him around.

BUt ISM was brought in by DOL and from what I heard MON didnt really follow up his suggestions so strange he left with him

this is my understand also, ISM made several suggestions from the UK and from abroad but most of his suggestions were blanked, i'm sure ISM said as much or one of the ITK boys said as much 5 or 6 months ago, that ISM was getting highly pissed off with having a pretend job as he was not being listened to.

  6. If we can cash in on Friedel now we might aswell, he's not getting any older, he's 39, and he's not exactly world class. A couple of million to Fulham should do it. We should put a bid in for Given or a young keeper who is decent because Guzan is nowhere near PL standard.

We also need to clear out Beye, Davies, Sidwell, Salifou, Osbourne, Heskey and Carew

But that's not going to happen as that would mean we'd either have to sign 7/8 replacements in 8 days, or be left with **** all. I'm guessing it's going to be the latter. We need a serious clear out. I'd even get rid of Sidwell, Salifou, Osbourne and Heskey on frees to clear up the wage bill considering no one will pay for them.

I've said this before but I honestly believe we are a "mini" Man City. We have average players on ridiculous wages (Beye - 40k, Heskey - reported 80k?) so when it comes to offloading them they don't want to take a paycut and we are back to square one.

I don't even know why Osbourne is at the club, he's on 18k and is one of the worst players I've ever seen here... get rid.

we need a serious clear out but we have no effin manager. we have a lot of very poor players who would struggle in lower leagues. we need to be very strict on the quality of players we bring in. we need to hire some private i to follow the chelsea man u and arsenal scouts around and just get a feel of the places we should be looking. all the top young players want to play in the cl but they all cant so theres a few we can get

I believe there are scouts out there to sign players, for example we got Salifou, imagine if he ended world class and scored 20 goals a season? Scouting unknown foreign players is a huge gamble and one that rarely pays off. But I agree that we do need a better scouting system in place. And not just in the PL.

it wasnt the scouts, it was the manager not trusting them to do their job. saladfood was purchased by MoN on MoNs recommendation to himself that in previous years he may have possibly watched a match where saladfood played half decent. MoN signed him from a league which is on a par with the 2nd division ( old 4th) despite him having failed at all other clubs of a shit standard in various sub standard leagues.

it was almost like he was trying to keep him here for 5 years so salafoo could try and claim british status instead of having to go back to his non EU country, i honestly can see no other reason for repeatedly extending his 1 year contract.

as i see it his contract expires in august/ spet anyway as it was a 1 year contract which was extended each year.

many other companies have changed contracts to make them performance related, this is perfectly legal. maybe for players not in the first 25 it should apply? this way they have an incentive to look else where for clubs.

maybe the quota of non eu players should be set at 5 per club maximum also? that is still a large percentage of the 25 but would mean that EU players have a chance to keep in a job and the money they spend will stay within the EU which would also help the crap economy rather than money just leaving the continent.

on us signing any players now well i think if we dont get a new manager in place before the end of the transfer window we will be stuck with the shit players we have and will rely on the youth players coming through for the subs bench. no new players would come in.

each season i start at 10 for optimism, even with MoN playing his silly buggers and 'ooh look at me, im brian clough i am', but with him deliberately trying to sabotage the club in the way he did, for once my optimism meter starts at a piss poor 5.

i was going to get the new top as i always do for my son and me but for some reason at the moment the only word i can use to sum up how i feel about the club is ' meh'.

shocking for someone who has supported the club since he was 4 and his first game being aston villa 5 liverpool 1 in 1976

  7. utter shit

    really, this is utter shit

downing needs to either get some brave juice or play womens football, heskey needs to go, friedel needs replacing.

carew i am liking less and less at the moment.

i can take losing but showing no fight?

    not good today

  8. well i started watching at 24 minutes, we were 1-0 down, i saw a good goal from ashley young but for some reason ( like all the nasty fouls being committed, have been in newcastles favour) then my pc went all ghey and turned itself off. 5 minutes later im back and 3-0 down? wtf?

then it is all newcastle, every foul every tackle and to top it off, i thought we were playing young up front on his own as we have not won 1 ball up front and then find out with 1 minute of the half to go that carew is playing? add in keiron clarke playing hoof ball each and every time it comes near him in acres of space and our players coming for the ball?

albrighton off, nrc on. it was a brave choice but if the ref isnt going to give any fouls against us, there is no point having tricky players on the pitch only for them to get kicked up in the air every time they go near the ball.

protect the players, put nrc on and possily get carew off also if he doesnt buck his ideas up after 65 minutes.

of the 10 minutes i saw before the pc went tits up we were playing well, although every time a villa player was hacked down the bell end ref waved play on. so **** knows what happened in the mystery 5 or 6 minutes?

  9. the worry with KMac is that like other fantastic back room staff who get promoted, their agendas change, no longer mister nice guy, man manager and friend to the players, his job is now on the line when it wasnt previously.

we should be looking to keep KMac in the role he has, developing a winners mentality amongst the 2nd 11, being the connection from youth to the first team.

someone like Jol i think would appreciate the job being done by KMac cowans and the boys rather than coming in, sacking everyone and starting all over again.

Jol is the one for us i feel at the moment, he isnt billy big bollocks he is pretty straight forward and i think he would work very well with KMac. this could only improve the villa.

  10. 10 for all of them, for once i was impressed with the slick passing, movement off the ball, playing quick attacking and hunting and tracking back in pairs.

it is only one game so im not getting carried away, if there is more of this come then please just pay the 18 million cash we get for milner on darren bent or 16 and heskey.

we should have got at least 8 today and i only got to watch the 2nd half so god knows how many more we should have got?

carew looked ready for the fight but it just wasnt his day, which is why someone like darren bent who also will have days like this, would still get one.

well done management for picking milner, im sure if randy and co were as much of an interference as MoN seems to suggest, they would not let him have played today.

milner well done for your game attitude, we should also add a sell on clause that if he is not played or wants to leave, we can buy him back for 12 million.

  11. He'd give us options - Emile - as lovely a bloke as he is - doesn't!

Emile gives the team great options. He has the orange flavour, mint, and regular.

All the other players say he makes great hot chocolate.

    Racist.

what makes you think heskey is racist?

he is actually a decent chap, just not when in a villa shirt on the pitch.

  12. General Krulak here:

    1. Again, rather than try to answer everyone's specific questions, let me try to continue to feed info as it becomes available.

    2. Obviously I am not in a position to name "targets" for the new Manager...that would not be a smart thing to do. What I will say is that we recognize this is an important decision and one that needs to be done rather quickly but, equally important, in a manner that gets the right man. We DO know how important this will be...no one is thinking it will be easy. Reality is that we have 4 days before our first game and rushing out to get a Manager is not the smart thing to do...just to have someone on the sidelines. One of the sad things about this whole affair is that Martin left when he did. I agree that the Club needs to come out with a statement...and they will. Likewise, Randy will have something to say. Speaking as a Fan, I have read every article about Martin's departure and must say that they are pretty one-sided. There is absolutely no question that Martin did a good deal for Villa and I have said, over and over, that I felt he did a fine job. At the same time, I can promise everyone that he knew and understood the long range plans for the Club and bought into them. He knew full well about the need to bring wages in line with revenue...the same as every Premiership Club. He was absolutely supported by the owner during his time with the Club...all one needs to do is look at the money spent. The reality is that the wage to revenue issue was not addressed and Martin apparently was unwilling to help address it. He quit. Do I think we have some rough times ahead? Probably...but nothing that we can't handle. I have been in some tough scrapes before...and I never got out of them by "wishing it away". I just put my head down and continued to grind it out. At the end of the day, is the aim to get into the Champions League? Absolutely! Is this realistic? Absolutely! Do we still have a way to go? Absolutely! As an aside, no one person is bigger than our Club...not me, not Randy, not Paul, not Martin. What is interesting is that, apparently, only three of those named understand that fact. We will continue to try to do what is right by the Vlla...with the very best of intentions. Will we always get it right...probably not. But we will work damn hard to do the right things.

    thank you.

    my question...

does randy now qualify for frequent flyer points?

  13. We need a manager with Premiership Experience, and with proven success in the league. We are in no situation to be taking chances.

it depends, someone like deschamps who has been successful at each club he has namaged in different leagues, but with no p[remiership experience is rather like a mourinho in terms of success when he went to chelsea.

martin jol for his eufa, premiership and european league experience seems the logical choice, as would sven. the negative press sven can bring is not ideal, however he plays decent football and can find a player, he has worldwide contacts.

if it were one of tthe two though, martin jol would be the one, if only for the chance he could bring van de weil and suarez.

a top young right back and a top goal poacher who keeps on running.

  14. anyone?

    diego-maradona.jpg

    that made me laugh

    managers?

well sven is not as bad as some seem to think, yes he has been around more than ashley cole but he has been successful at various clubs and can still get good players to come

deschamps, the little french man, he went to juve and got them back into the big time and then went to france and won the title, he has spent time in the UK so its not alien to him, he plays decent football and is well respected.

moyes, his teams go up and down but always seem difficult to beat, knows the english game but can he attract decent players?

jol, got spurz up the league and was dumped, then went back to europe and did the business he could bring suarez and van de weil with him as they play for ajax?

there is just a few we may or may not be able to get?

  15. Reading between the lines I don't think Mon wants Milner to stay brummybloke. I think he wants the "pot of gold" asap for the three or four signings that he's got lined up. I wonder how Randy feels about that if I'm right?

im not too sure, i think he wants him to stay but it seems once a player has been asked by Mon to stay and the player does not agree, then the wrath of Mon comes out.

Im sure Randy wont be happy one of the most high profile villa players , one who seems destined for england captaincy at some stage and still young, is off.

but im also sure Randy is making sure Mon knows the score when it comes to how much there is to spend before anyone goes.

i cant understand why we keep crap like saladfu? lets get rid of players clearly not upto premiership standard and keep the money for the top performers.

  16. i would have thought 'jimmy' would have shown more loyalty as we 'rescued' him from newcastle twice.

but hey, if he wants out then i am guessing unless he is blunt, Mon will think he can persuade him to stay so no doubt words have been said.

he wants out so lets move on, my only concern is instead of going for a big signing, Mon tries to make average to decent players into something they cant sustain for more than a season.
