  1. money, travel, time

i have no money, it would cost £60 fuel round trip from devon to brum £10 for the ticket = minimum of £70

i have to be at work at 7am and the mrs didnt get back from work until 5pm leaving me to look after our son.

i have not been at all this season and unless we draw a team like torquay or exeter in a cup then i wont be seeing them at all this year apart from on dodgy chinese websites.

  2. we cant play with albrighton if he wont cross the ball in, we cant play with downing if he is continually crap

i didnt even know steven ireland was playing until the 40th minute when there was a close up of him.

if we do have albrighton who i like and is an exciting young talent, than he must be told to get the ball into the box early rather than burst forwards and leave himself a 1 on 1 and then leisurly play the ball back losing any impetus we may have had.

get it in the box for god sake.

downing got a great goal the other day but boy, i would rather we were solid in the middle and as a team worked, we will get far better performances and results rather than the odd good goal.

we cant play with albrighton downing and young all at the same time unless we are chasing a game in the last 10 minutes because no can tackle and it leave the whole team exposed.

luke young is my man of the match for his last gasp delaney esq blocks, tackles charges up field and generally keeping ball unlike collins who seems to think he can produce a hollywood pass every time the ball is at his feet rather than push the ball to a player who can do something with it.

1st half the team gets a 7 seconds half the team gets a 3.

  3. downing you are a pussy everyone else tackles and no problem, yet again you cry like a clearing in the woods.

this his yet another piss poor performance

another 2 points droppped against a bottom half club.

  4. dear jim could you fix it for me to not play 3 wingers and 2 attacking midfield players in the same team at the same time and have none of them cross the **** ball in.

    thanks, Brum

oh and PS take downing off he is crap today

  5. just trying to remember how long MoN hadnt managed in the premier league or had anything to do with football before we had him as our manager? cant understand the media crap about GH not managing in premier league for 6 years?

    short memories?

im happy enough at the moment, i have high expectations for aston villa, unrealistic? possibly but i have expectations.

if he does well then great, if he does bad then not so great, will worry about it when one or the other happen.

isnt my first choice but i can not see randy offering me the job, so they will have to take whats left.

  6. i want winners at the club, **** being all precious, neither are my choice but if this is who we get then at least make sure it is on a rolling agreement, if they do well until the end of the season then we have the option to keep them on and if they do not so well then shake hands and move on.

im willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because albeit a long time ago, they were winners or at least successful.

  7. You seem oblivious to the fact that Darren Bent and Defoe and Crouch wouldnt have cost 3m.

    What about Bosko Balaban?

Crouch/Defoe did not go to Portsmouth that transfer window.

Listen, we obviously disagree on a lot of things, but with all due respect - you dont half talk tripe

Heskey who was on a free 4 months later?

Not the worst signing, a rubbish one on it's own merits though.

Worst is saludfude utter waste of everything. At least we got games out of the rest.

  8. still all guess work but i would be very disapointed to see Kmac pressured into taking this job. it is very short sighted to move someone from what they excel at into something else, on the off cance they can coninue to be successful without any experience.

he needs to be left at what he is great at, it is no disrespect to the man but being forced up the ladder would mean we would need to be looking for people to replace his old job. and then in 3 months time when he has either decided it was too much for him or we sit 4 points above the relegation zone then he leaves the club. going from manager back to reserve team manager wont work, the players respect for him will have gone in the unsuccesful period where he was team manager. then the last 8 years of great work is all forgotten about and he is out of a job with the reserves and youth all messed aorund.

all hypothetical of course, he may not get the job, if he does he may be succesful and he may not find it too much pressure.

not worth the risk really though is it?

either take sven on a deal lasting till the end of the season and then review so no big payouts. no risk and the stability of the infastructure of the club remains.

or someone on a par with sven.

maybe if england are not doing well cappello will be free by next summer?

what ever we do, we should not be trying to 'force' a square peg into a round hole

  9. What I should say is that if, at the end of the process, Kevin MacDonald gets the job I will have my reservations about him as a Premier League manager.

I will not, however, have reservations about the way in which the appointment was handled. I am very confident that accusations of "stringing out" the appointment simply to avoid spending money before today are very wide of the mark. The services headhunter wouldn't even have been engaged if that was the case. By the way, I'm pretty sure that's why Keith Harris was at the match on Sunday. I don't think he's the headhunter, he made the introduction.

WTF ? oooh that cheeky monkey

  10. im not suprised but i am disapointed at the lack of any new signings.

the one thing fans want nearly as much as good results is the signing of new exciting players.

with the uncertainty surrounding a manager coming in, it would have bought the board a lot more time if they had gone out and signed a top forward.

what difference would it have made? well a player who can pop in a gaol when the game is going no where changes the complexion of a game.

it would have provided more income for the club, more positive media interest, more interest in general from the fans and also a level of excitement which to be honest has not reached any higher than when MoN came to the club, the signings we have made havent excited me, i have been pleased but havent thought they were going to make too much of a difference.

too late now though, we need to get the best man for the managers job we can. any joe average and the board will not get the trust and belief they have earned from the fans with the last 4 years worth of good work.

it can go out of the window in a very short space of time.

Kmac needs to stay at what he is good at, that keeps some continuity at the club, make him manager and i bet by christmas he is sacked and the 14 years of stirling work he has done at the club will count for nothing and the reserves and youth team will be without the star coach.

  11. i just had a horrible thought it may be someone like neil warnock..

if it were to be a manager with premier league experience it may be time to trawl through every manager who has managed in the top flight and then start wiping them off.

the horrid thing is there would be people like

    paul ince,

    steve bruce,

    allardyce,

    souness,

    kenny dalglish,

    sammy lee,

    garry megson,

    Guus Hiddink

    Felipe Scolari

    Claudio Ranieri

    Ray Wilkins

    Graham Rix

    Gianluca Vialli

    Ruud Gullit

    Glenn Hoddle

    walter smith

    cris coleman

    lawrie sanchez

    jean tigana

    houllier

    roy evans

    sven

    kevin keagan

    pearce

    joe kannir

    tony pullis

    mick mccarthy

    roy keane

    niall quin

    howard wilkinson

    george graham

    david pleat

    martin jol

    juande ramos

    christian gross

    glen roeder

    alan pardew

    curbishley

    zola

    paul jewell

    bruce rioch

there are soe grim ones in there to be honest

  12. please not venables, taylor mk 3, mouthgate, robson, mowbray, jones, brown

hughes just signed for fulham, their chairman wont let him go

jol wanted money at ajax, however i doubt he has been given any bearing in mind they got mido on a free transfer the other week

if we got jol and promised he could bring in suarez ( scored another 3 goals today, making it 5 goals in 3 games so far this season) i think we would improve,

moyes is loyal and i couldnt see him going anywhere for a while or at least not until te end of the season, he seemed slightly frustrated that like most clubs, he wont be able to do much this transfer window.
