  1. has anyone actually ever managed to get through on the phone. Online saying I dont have the privileges when I do need to contact and get it sorted some how

  2. Just food for thought for those who think having a war chest is a good thing.

We replaced Yorke with Joachim, Barry with Bannan, Young with N'Zogbia and Milner with Ireland.

Selling your star strikers never improves the team. Liverpool replaced Saurez with Balotelli, Spurs wasted the Bale money on average players.

We could get £100mil for Benteke but it won't benefit us as fans.

yet saints replaced llana, shaw and lambert with tadic, pele , and bertrand so it can work as well. suarez and bale are irreplaceable really as well for teams like liverpool and tottenham. For what its worth I do not think we could replace Benteke with a like for like, most players wont be as good and the ones that are wont come to us or we can not afford, the money would have to be spent on all areas of the squad. I would also though rather keep him for another year and risk loosing 10 to 12 million off his value though.

  3. Danny ings latest comments about wanting to go somewhere to play first team football and having a manager who can coach and develop him make me think that we could be a possbility if we were after him. Depending on if Benteke leaves.

  4. Wondering if anyone can answer this. If someone else has bought your ticket can you call up the ticket office to get them to assign it to yourself. I would assume you can as if you buy tickets as well on the day of matches there has to be a way of assigning the ticket for these situations.

  5. Wouldn't be surprised with the Real Madrid assistant either. Sure I read that arsenal seen him as the one to takeover from wenger so sure Tom fox would know about him. Whether that's true is a completely different story and if it is I think he'd wait for the arsenal job.

  6. Pat Murphy on 5 live

"The new Aston Villa manager will be recommended by the chief executive Tom Fox, with the owner Randy Lerner prepared to rubberstamp his decision. Lerner will not be part of the interview process.

"Lerner operates out of New York and is hardly ever in Birmingham, as he comes to rely more and more on the advice of his fellow-American whom he appointed as CEO last September. It was Fox who recommended Lambert should be sacked after Tuesday night's defeat at Hull.

"Fox will take soundings from Villa's director of recruitment Paddy Reilly and an inner circle of trusted colleagues before moving in on a target. Coaching expertise will be essential - Villa were short in that area during Lambert's tenure - and they won't be put off if their preferred candidate is with another club.

"Although time is on Villa's side in that their next Premier League game is not until a week on Saturday when they are at home to Stoke City, Fox will want a swift appointment."

Think that rules out sherwood, Eddie Howe etc. screams someone like mclaren to me going off this

  7. Maybe a loan deal for Mirallas could happen. CNZ the other way too and we could have a front 3 of Benteke, Mirallas and Sinclair with Gil in midfield. Could also cheer up Benteke having another Belgian in the team.

    Just a thought.

Like the idea, maybe we would go for pogba and Rooney while we're at it

  8. He is 22. What do people expect at this age after a number of seasons of injury as well, I would say playing a number of games at championship level and scoring a few at the same time is very good in the circumstances. If he can do the same for Forest he can kick on after pre season.

  9. Think that if we get Ki in the formation will be more 3 in the middle with 1 up top and 2 wide strikers for away games when we are hitting teams on the break. Then for home games Cole can be intergrated into the midfield 3 in a more advanced role when we need to break teams down. Can see that working

  10. I would be pretty sure that Cavani and Falcao did not have the reputations back then as they do now. so little be known back then it most likely would not have been a sign of intent. I know personally I first heard of Cavani at Napoli and Falcao at Porto

  11. bit of a weird question but does anyone know how to remove the sponsor, would prefer a plain shirt. Know it might come off in a high temperature wash but do not want it to shrink or wreck the shirt.

  12. guzan
    bacuna, vlaar, okore/lescott bertrand
    westwood, barry, delph
    holtby
    benteke, chicarito

bench: steer, agbonlahor, kozak, albrighton, grealish, clark, lowton
decent look to a side. wont happen ofcourse

  13. I have been a believer in Lambert but 1 point from 18 is hard to defend and if we go the next 3 games without any points 1 point in 27 you just cant defend at all. Not looking for the villa to guarantee our safety any more, however other teams.

  14. Yes id say both can show progress, position is what matters though. I would rather finish with 38 points and sit in 13th position than get relegated with 40 points. They both coincide together anyway so its hard to argue the case for which one is right or wrong.

  15. or putting it another way, we are likely to finish with around 38 to 39 points this season and stay up placed around 12 - 15... if we finish next season on 42 points but get relegated would that mean we have progressed
