  1. Whilst I like the idea of a Henry terry partnership. Do both not have differing views on style of play ? Terry has made it known he has been most inspired by mourinho, Henry most inspired by Wenger/guardiola. Hope this doesn’t create arguments in future.

Best scenario for me is terry comes in a coaching capacity while he continues to work on his badges. Either way can’t see him playing second fiddle for long

  2. No wins in 5 and the guy then takes a holiday. This tells me enough that he is feeling the pressure / isn’t in the best place right now. For his sake and ours we need a parting of ways. His decisions are becoming worse and worse as the weeks go on.

So what has happened with FFP ?

Tony Xia said that having new owners would not effect it because it has nothing to do with how much $$$ the owners have, its to do with how much AVFC have.So what has happened now, we get new owners that are worth a few billion each and all of a sudden FFP seems to have gone away. Are we now in the same catagoey as Man $ity,ManUre and Liverpool as far as $$$ is concerned ?

Theres 2 scenarios in my opinion:

    1) Xia exaggerated the FFP problems to cover his own back, plus new owners have been given a bit of leniency to get finances in order.

    2) They have seen other fines handed out and decided to chance it and have another go, and take the consequences if and when.

In reality its probably a little bit of all of those things.

Dean Smith might if the money was right and wouldn’t blame him.The problem for you is you would be taking a big risk of taking him out of a very well supported and structured set up at Brentford. He is head coach assisted by many  and if he left one of those would step up and we would carry on without any disruption as we did when Warburton and Rosler left and were then sacked by both all the  clubs they have joined since. It is the same with players who leave us remember that lot down the road from you took our best 3 players according to them a year ago and were going to storm the league ?that went well then.

I think you are right. Always worried when linked to Brentford players, who are clearly being coached well in a system that is essentially making them look better than they are. Take Kemar Roofe for instance, an average striker in previous years, now being coached well is looking like one of the best strikers this season. And Bruce is then the type of mug to go out and spend 12m on him.

  5. For what it’s worth Jorge Mendes manager clients include Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca. Looks a good coach. Andre villas-boas would also be good. Probably stand no chance with both however until you ask you won’t get. Who would of thought Bielsa and Leeds or Nuno and wolves.

Lets be honest here, has any manager ever been sacked while unbeaten in a season. He will only go when the losses come

That’s the upsetting thing. He’ll always just do enough to keep his job, especially with the players at his disposal. Hope the new owners see this.

You agree but then you don't. If you agree we can't rely on Kodjia for 40 games then you agree we need another striker. I think it's black and white. If we are to push for promotion we 100% need another striker—we have enough games to rotate, sub in and sub out. Having two strikers will only help us as they'll be forced to be at the top of their game. As I say, Kodjia has only just come back from a long injury. You cannot rely on having him playing 90 minutes for 40 games. If he gets tired or has a niggle who are we going to play?!

Jedinak was good on Wednesday—there's a glimmer of hope for me that he can work there. I agree it's not ideal, but he certainly has the physical presence and you'd hope he'd keep improving the more he plays there.

For the record, I'd say we absolutely cannot go on without another striker. Next up, I'd choose a centre back—but we surely need to let some players go as we have such a bloated squad.

I agree it’s a gamble I don’t agree it’s the best use of of our one loanee left, so I’d take the gamble. But there you go.

I can't get behind the thinking that it's OK to rely on Kodjia alone. Kodjia has only just come back from a bad injury and our having two games a week and putting him through potentially 40 odd games is lunacy.

As for the others, Hogan has proven only that he's not good enough—just compare what Kodjia did on Wednesday to Hogan. Kodjia made things happen and scored two top-class goals all by his own making and skill while Hogan makes things easy for the other team by bouncing the ball to them and being an absolute ghost upfront. Davis I like, but he's injured for who knows how long. His scoring record isn't very good either so he's not someone we should pin the hopes of an entire season and a promotion push on. After that, we have only RHM who doesn't look ready and certainly not ready to lead the line.

A new CF for me is the number one priority otherwise we're taking an insane and stupid gamble.

Cant argue with that you are right it is a gamble, but so is persisting with Jedinak at CB. I just think thats more important right now, and its a position where we can bring someone in to straight away strengthen the first team. How would we have tempted Tammy to come here when the most likely situation at the moment is that hed be on the bench, he can get that at Chelsea. Unless you say play two up top, but then to accommodate for the new expensive wingers you'll have a back three of possibly Jedinak Chester and Elphick/Tuanzebe ??

Id love us to be greedy and have another 20 goal a season striker on the bench, but were just not in the position to do that at the time being. Not taking away from it though hes a great player and would be a great signing.

  9. with Kodjia seemingly back on form, and 3 other strikers behind (albeit not 20 goal a season strikers), wouldnt make sense to bring in another when we only play 1 up top. Would have been amazing signing either way, but with one space left in the team for a loanee potentially other areas of more importance for improvement. Can always re-evaluate in the jan window. Hopefully Kodjia can stay fit and in form!!!

I read somewhere that Bruce referred to Bolasie as "the icing on the cake", which concerns me a bit as it sounds like that's it for signings. Fingers crossed I'm reading too much in to it.

You forgot the cherry on top
