So.... 5pm... they are leaving it a little late with this press conference aren't they :)

    Don't hold your breath....

AVFCITK: Nuremburg negotiations still ongoing with Villa. Buy out clause reached but Nurenburg want bigger bids. Kiyo wants to join AV 110%

Why would a club pay more than the buy out clause?????

To say that makes no sense would be being kind, it is beyond laughable to be honest.

I would have thought that if a buy clause is met in a legal document then they have no option but accept otherwise why bother to have one in there. Plus Kiyo and his agent if they want to come would be making noises........ I wish it were true but it can't be.

  2. Love the home kit, nothing wrong with goalie kits (pink will be good for that cancer awareness week) as for the away.... at first I was unsure, now after watching video I am coming around. By the end of the week I am pretty sure I will be buying both home and away this year.

  3. This is weird. You would think one the local news hounds would have something to say... positive or negative. It's like they have been sworn to secrecy or they haven't a clue but how hard is to find out if someone is having a medical or is even in the country.

There's also not a strong infrastructure for girl's baseball (they end up playing softball) or basketball over here. The best female athletes in school tend to play soccer and volleyball.

I do not know where you live Kwan, but there is a massive infrastructure for women's basketball. AAU, High School Programs, and really big college programs. TBH, basketball is much bigger than volleyball and soccer IMO.

Yeah, I can understand the regional differences. You wouldn't find the same programs you'd find in New York as compared to Texas or Florida. I'm from Florida, so most of the infrastructure there is geared towards fielding good soccer players and volleyball players, then softball, then at the very bottom, basketball.

Really? Texas is all basketball, and I would assume all urban areas are basketball heavy too.

    Interesting.

Basketball??? Where did you get that from. In North texas soccer is big, a little elitiest due to money being involved when you move up from rec to competitive but even so I believe it still is the number 1 played sport for under 18's. It is also very well organized with plenty of named coaches. My son played for Gordon Hill of ManU fame and there are plenty of other ex players around. However when it comes to high school and college, American football is king and that is the sport I would say is all Texas. Friday night high school football, saturday college football and then the NFL on Sunday. Big money, big crowds.

  5. Every day I check this thread hoping to see we signed him on higher wages and he will stay.

You'll have plenty of checking to do then. Not only is he away with Belgium he will off on his hols after that.

Let's face it, he and his agent are simply going to wait and see what happens. They will not be rushing in a new contract until they know who is or isn't interested.

If he signs a new contract it will be July at the earliest and if someone bigger is sniffing around longer. I still expect this to get messy with some crappy offer from someone like Arsenal coming in that we reject but Benteke wants to push through. Hope I am wrong.......

  6. Given the quality and looks of the last kit...it would surprise me if there was even a kit assembled any sooner than 24hrs before launch.  They look and feel like they were thrown together last minute....certainly not enough time for even the faintest bit of a quality control.

Don't know what you've got until it's gone, bring back Nike...I'll take a late kit that fits well and lasts for more than 1 wash.

I also don't understand a word of what you have said. The new kit is just fine and mine has been washed several times. Looks as good as new each time. If you asked me to inspect a nike kit and this new one......... I wouldn't be able to tell the difference in quality.

  7. Yep unless Wigan melt down in their next 2 games it looks like we will go into the last game with a chance of going down.

We might beat Chelsea and that will take care of it but.......

I just hope that we have some teams below us like Sunderland, Norwich and Newcastle. That way they all have to get a result and that will be hard when you see Norwich at Man City, Sunderland at Spurs and Newcastle home to Arsenal.

Yesterday's joy has been replaced by nerves again as I type this..... It would be great if Stoke and Swansea at least get a draw this week.

  8. Rumored that Costa Rica want a reply. Can't say I blame them. It was bad but ok for about 60 mins - after that a complete farce.

Brad was solid throughout. Flapped at 1 corner but other than that was perfect.

  9. Ever player goes through patches where they miss chances. He might be due a rest but he works so hard and helps the team in other ways now is not the time.

Both his chances yesterday were as a result of his running and effort to get into that position in the 1st place.

If we stay up and get rid of Dunne, Ireland and Given. Heck that must be $100k a week to play with. $20k extra for Benteke and $10k for Wiemann.

  10. Herd is like Delph, always one bad tackle away from a red, not talented enough to be in the team IMO, would rather Clark in DM than him.

I think that is a little harsh. There are a lot of players that fall into that category but they are useful and necessary part of the team. I haven't seen enough of him really to know but he hasn't done too badly when I he has played.
