Pretty much established himself as a starter for the USA team. And while the USA is not Brazil they are a decent team so for a backup club player to play every game for them means somebody somewhere will make him a starter for their club team. He should be given a chance at Villa this season to prove himself or I think he will move on.

You will never please everyone but if what I read is correct then I have no problem in looking at young managers (Martinez) on the up swing rather than managers who had the chance and failed (McClaren). General I have to say that while we all agree this season has been a disaster, the last 2 games have been the worst 180 minutes of back to back football I have seen. We are without doubt leaderless, clueless and playing without any pride. We could lose 6-0 next week if someone doesn't step up amd provide leadership.

5) Experimenting with player positions is acceptable but must be done carefully and must not be continued if it does not work

6) Aston Villa play to win all competitions we enter, we are and never will be there to make up the numbers

Can you please do an analysis of the water used a Bodymoor Heath? There must be something in it that effects our Managers sense of judgement when selecting teams. 1st MON and now GH. You do not put out a weakened team (no Ash, no Downing, no Albrighton) when you play a top team in the last 16 of the cup. if we were away to ManU next round you might have second thoughts but we were so close to Wembley and maybe the final with the teams left. General for every 1 negative comment on here there are 999 slient postitive supporters. You have created a forum that allows peopel to express their views. Problem is when times are bad (and they are wobbly right now) the extreme negative views will be ones pushed forwrd. Keep the faith sir....

He is 19 and started 1 premier league game in his life. Give him a chance and by that I mean a couple more years not games.

i will be honest i think we got too many youngesters around the squad at the moment and i dont think if we aim for higher expectations like cl in the next few years we need better quality.

Huh??? They have been our best players really. I think a couple of our established players are heading in the wrong direction right now and others (Sidwell) were never there in the first place. I hope Albrighton and company continue to get playing time.

What exactly are the quality issues with the shirt? Why is it only Aston Villa shirts? Why would quality issues only be found out when the shirts are due to made available? Surely they have a quality verification process that is built into the whole production process? Something stinks about this Nike agreement General. In July I attended the MLS All-star game in Houston where Man Utd were playing. They were selling their shirts all over the place. That is 4 months before our shirt is available. Now I am not shirt making genius but a shirt is a shirt and all they need do is change the colour design and get the produuction line working. It seems like we are last every year but this is just so poor it is embarrassing. Surely there are dates and penalties in the agreement. If not you need to fire the person that negotiated the contract. Like I said something stinks.

If Houllier and KM can build a good relationship then I can see this being a positive appointment. If they disagree and KM ends up leaving then I fear what Houllier might do to us. We have so much potential with our younger players, I don't want a bunch of 2nd rate froggies moving in but bring along our boys and add some euro talent and we may just might remain up as a top 6 team

I know you didn't join these forums just to take kind words but did you ever anticipate such a barrage of abuse. Do not give up the majority are still behind you. I am still totally supportive of Randy. Having said that I am so frustrated over Europe. As soon as I saw our defence the other night I said how is this going to work? And sure enough it didn't. Why we constatntly play players out of position is something I just don't get. 9 out 10 of our supportors don't seem to understand it also. Do you understand it? 3 years in a row we have worked so hard to qualify for Europe and then we throw it away. We may not get the chance for another 5 years now UNLESS your choice of manager picks up this team up and gives it some direction. Get that right General. It has to be someone with experience and a reputation for winning. You take a gamble on say a Bob Bradley and you really are rolling the dice. If it doesn't work out there tide of anger will rise .... and that will include the middle of road supporters like me who usually try to support the team not matter what. So General keep up the great work, you have a lot of good will in the bank as far as the slient majority of Villa fans are concerned.

General I am 100% behind all that you and Randy are doing. At lot of people over react and the press sure like headlines. being detached from the local activity I can see how such a situation could develop and I understand the knee jerk reactions form some of the supporters. However we cannot spend money we do not have but we must continue to try and push on. I can only assume if we had sold some of our fringe players the MON situation would not have developed as the payroll would have been reduced but we didn't so it was hard to sanction new additions. For me it is not European Champion league or bust, I'll take being successful year on year and winnig a trophy now and then. I for sure want the next manager to take the Europa league (or whatever it is called) seriously and make better use of squad and highly rated youth players. So keep on doing what you are doing. Appoint a manager that gives us a chance of moving forward but do not make decisions that could see us fall down to the league without any money available to get back.
