  1. Hello ..

But I want to know when exacty is the Portland game ?

    Tuesday July 24th.

The team will probably arrive on Sunday and leave he day after the game.

Tickets in Villa section available from....

  2. Just to follow up on the original post......

The California Villa supporters club have arranged a 'get togther' with the Timbers Army before the Portland game for all Villa fans interested....

4pm-7pm AVFC Fans + Timbers Army

The Bitter End Pub (http://www.portlandbitterend.com/) 1981 West Burnside Street, Portland, OR 97209 (971) 222-2000

  3. Ok fair enough some like it, but they would probably like anything Villa release which is fair enough

And some people would have found a problem with it no matter what it looked like CI. :winkold: :winkold:

I give it the thumbs up. That is manager and kit taken care of. Next up a few new players and I will bel like a pig in mud....

  4. Don't Macron have a clause in which the shirts are only on sale in Villa shops though?

Not in the US of A

  5. I used to buy every kit we had in blind faith. Then one day (you could argue it is me getting tighter or more cynical with age) I stopped.

I would have bought last season's, had McLeish not been in charge.

But there is no way I am buying this. It looks cheap and no better than the kits Macron supply to teams like Boston and Yeovil.

Certainly not worth £45. Poor job Villa and Macron.

Also if anyone has seen the training wear in the club shop you will notice that also looks really cheap and certainly not as good quality as what Nike supplied and no cheaper.

Good I wouldn't want such a miserable git walking around in a Villa shirt.

I will buy it because it doesn't look bad at all. Hard for me to see any difference between Nike quality and this in a picture. I will buy because I am an Aston Villa supporter and beleive the club are trying to right the wrongs of the last 2 years......... UTV

We have a difference of opinion on the new kit so I'm branded a miserable git, and on my birthday. Thanks!

By the way I don't see how the new kit has anything to do with righting the wrongs of the last two years. Nonsense!

Phil first of all happy birthday. :birthday:

However I do think you should read your own words carefully. 1st of all you say you say would have brought a shirt last year if it wasn't for McLeish. Then when I say I am buying one this year because of PL and the effort Villa seem to be putting into sorting things out you say that is nonsense. What did Aston Villa's manager have to do with last years shirt? Nothing - but you didn't buy it because you were pissed off with him. What does PL have to do with this shirt? Nothing - but I am buying it because I am happy with club. If my purchase is nonsense then your non purchase is totally nonsense. Based upon your criteria for shirt buying should you not be buying one this year or are you also upset about PL as manager? Just saying.....

  7. Does anybody know how much the shirts will cost w/ and w/out a personalised name on the back.

And also, will they only be available in villa stores or in any sports store? Thanks in advance.

They are available on Villa online store now... with prices, etc.

You can buy Leeds and West Ham shirts at other locations so don't see why not Villa. Just may take time to find its way to the stores while Villa cash in. (nothing wrong with that BTW IMO)

  8. It certainly looks like a West Ham kit especially as all of their kits have a ****-off massive Aston Villa Lion embossed on the back. Nevermind Macron, back to the drawing board.

Also, the only reason they play in Claret and Blue is because we gave them our kits just before the 1900's. For this reason, our kits are always going to be similar.

Didn't one of our coaches lose a bet with the West Ham coach that he couldn't pay so he stole a kit to make good? West Ham skipped off back to London with a new kit and that has been their colours ever since.

  9. Interestingly the OS's list of sponsors now says "Genting" and I am quite sure it used to say "Genting Casinos" - maybe it'll be a subtle change on this year's shirts?

    I would like that!!!

  10. I smell another Villa screw up in the making.......... if OGS is the man and it appears majority of fans are happy with that choice, then we should have pulled the trigger. Now anything could happen. When it comes to knowing what to do in these type of situations ... in RL and PF I do not trust. Do they want to do the right thing yes, do they try to do the right thing yes. Do they have a history of doing the right thing NO!

  11. I don't think he is wrong. Liverpool are still considered a top club that as slipped recently. They do need a really high profile manager to get them back to the Champions League. We are in the next tier and have fallen from there. we need a manager who wants to take us back to top 6. 2 different mindsets for a manager to deal with. We need a Lambert. Liverpool need a manager with CL experience.

  12. Just purchased a couple of tickets for the Portland Game.... around 70 Villa fans booked so far. See below for information.

The California Villa Branch are arranging a get together with the Timbers Army before the game.

Contact Rick Leong, Chairman - avfc.california@gmail.com if you are interested....

  13. I wonder if with Macron we will change the badge colour to suit the away and goalkeeper kits? I just think they look better asopposed to having the normal crest sticking out like a sore thumb. It's not particularly important but other clubs do it. I just think it makes the kits look a bit nicer is all.

    Totally agree.........
