To be honest, the midfield in the 1st half was not great. Gardener, Bacuna, Herd.... none of them did anything special but more than that they did not have much of the ball and allowed Dallas to control the midfield. It wasn't horrible, just not as good as you would have liked. In the 2nd half we were so much better with Delph, Westwood and Zoggie

Now Grealish for me did show himself in a good light He was lively and took people on. I would have liked to have seen Grealish play in our 2nd half team because we had much more of the ball.

Last night Lambert did say he hoped to bring in 1 or 2 more signings before the window closes.

When asked how much he had to spend he just smiled and said he wasn't going to answer that.

I don't want to add to any confusion here but I was the one who asked PL about Tonev and Luna. I actually said have they played their last games for Villa.

The response was Luna was sorting out a loan and Tonev couldn't come because he had something to take care of. I may have missed the injury comment but I didn't specifically hear that.

I am not blowing my own horn here but my 10 minuets of fame at the meet and greet also saw me ask Delph if he was going to sign a new contract and he did say he had been at Villa a long time, was happy and would like to extend his stay.

I was going to ask 1 more question..... "would you accept a 10 million bid for Vlaar but they ran out of time".....

I'll be at the meet and greet. At Portland the whole squad turned up but that was after practice. This is before so I don't expect everyone but hopefully enough. No reason not to have Benteke there.

Bent, Benteke, Kozak, Weimann, Gabby, Robinson.... that is enough IMO.

If he goes to Arsenal we can pick him up on loan at Christmas because by then he will realize his playing time for them is zero.

Assuming we can get relegated and then come  back up again is a very dangerous plan. Sure some come back but there are a lot that don't. Much better to struggle in the Prem and rebuild within it..... plus for those of us that live in other parts of the world. Watching Villa on TV would be gone.... actually it has been torture watching recently so that might be an augment for going down!!

It has to be nonsense I agree, We let Alrighton go I assume because we already have N'zog, Tonev and now Grealish, Plus Gabby gets thrown out wide, We might need but can't afford to waste whatever money we do have to spend in trasnfer fees on a 4th.

It is a gamble but we gotta hope that 1 out of those 3 has a great year. Hopefully 1 plus Grealish making wonderful off the bench appearances.

Saw the home today and not overly impressed.

Just realised it looks very similar to West Ham's home shirt from a couple of years ago. Take the pin stripes off and it's a carbon copy pretty much.

That logic doesn't make sense. We both play in claret and blue so there will be similarities but it does have pin strips so it is different. To me you could say if the away shirt had wider black stripes it would be like Newcastle but it doesn't, so it isn't.

I like all the pictures of young kids happy and proud to be wearing their new Villa shirt on the officical site. That's the attitude to have..

Don't buy one of you feel like you are throwing away money. These comments are the same every year. I love all my old shirts, I wear them and they all have lasted for several years making them pretty good value for money. If these new babies have pin strips I will get the home and away. Time for a change, especially in the home shirt.

Seemingly some do. No idea why.

Because if I was Lerner I would say no spending until July when we can see where we are with take over offers, etc. If nothing is happening I will release x amount of money. The wages also cannot rise above y when you do make signings (loan or real). Basically there is no rush to spend right now but if the ownership is still unclear by the time pre-season starts then it will be business as usual to protect the investment.

Money can't buy success, just like money can't buy happiness but if you had a choice of working all your life just to survive or winning the lottery and giving a luxury life a real shot... what would you do? Well I see Villa getting someone that wants to throw loads of money at transfers and trying to be successful like winning the lottery. You just got to give a real shot.

I would not care 2 frigs if we win the league by building a team from the best players that money can buy. Do Chelsea care? Do Man City care? How about Man Utd? Nope... they just look on teams like Villa as insignificant.
