  1. General, Anything you can do to help "influence" when the next round of the cup will take place - should we see off Donny Rovers in the replay ? I am sure many of us are going to have a problem if it is the Saturday afternoon (3pm) / evening match (5pm) as it is Valentines day. It is a difficult decision to be made - divorce or the villa........ know any good solicitors. hahaha
  2. Look at my post above yours. As I said, he is an imaginary and embellished threat. Cross comes in, people think 'Carew would have had that'......but the Carew I know wasn't burying 6 goals a game from crosses. I read your post after I had posted mine. I know what you are saying. I still think that he is somebody who just scares defenders with his power, bit like Bednar yesterday for Albion. I don't think Gabby and Carew play well together because Gabby doesn't seem to know what to do. When he is on his own, he has no choice but to find space and get the ball - its almost like he doesn't have to try as hard. That is why we score more I think - Gabby is better on his own than with him. We are more balanced without him in the team and don't leak as many goals.
  3. There have been loads of balls pumped into the box in recent weeks where there has been nobody there. Just the sort of place I can see Carew being to bury the ball in the net. or at other times, it has been sidwell or Barry on the end of it, and whilst reasonable, they are no John Carew. The problem I have is that if he was to come back, who makes way and if it is somebody like Sidwell, we lose that solid Midfield 3 that allows Petrov to and Barry to flourish.
  4. I second that. A number of people must know who he/she is. I detest Redknapp as much as the next man but this is bang out of order and undoes all the hard work that MON, Randy, The General and the team have all done.
  5. General, I would echo the point on the PA system. I went to a few away games last year and by far, we have the worst PA of the grounds I went to (Portsmouth, Reading, Derby). I know it is not an exhaustive list but it is very difficult to hear anything through our PA system.
  6. I feel ashamed for not knowing this but "what is the name of the song that the players walk out to ?" Being a season ticket holder, I should bow my head in shame but hey ho. sorry guys.
  7. General, I know somebody has mentioned this before but I have not seen any response to it (I have probably missed it though). Could we setup a number of collection boxes/tins/buckets in all of the stands - including the away sections and have a published league table for clubs who have come to Villa and how much the relevant fans have donated. Would be a bit of fun but also help Acorns financially I for one would not have a problem volunteering a couple hours of my time before the match kicks off by having a collection box / tin / bucket. And would ask for nothing in return as I am already a season ticket holder. Russ
  8. Gernal: I have always wanted to run the London Marathon and have been rejected in the ballot process for the last 3 years. Now that it has been confirmed Acorns will sponsor us next year, I for one am overjoyed. I would like to take this possibility to raise the profile further by: a) Running the London Marathon in a Villa Shirt Raise money for the Acorns Hospice Can you or anybody else from the wider management team be able to help me get a guaranteed place (I am in the ballot again this year) but moreover, give some ideas with regards to fund raising ? I am far from a stick insect so it might be more real life story than the film "Run Fat Boy Run" - and that was such a success. Thanks
