  1. How much could someone bet on a manager, based on some inside info, without getting in trouble?

I got Rafa at 18-1 earlier in the week, so tell me it's him and make me very happy........

Sorry, was watching the match...didn't mean to be a tease. David Moyes.

I got 19-1 on BetFair which is pretty good I think.

In the last 4 hours there has been £104 placed on Moyles on betfair so i don't think any alarms will be going off there just yet!

  2. Should have signed both ashley and downing on deals that say if a club offer X amount then they can go until then you stay. protects the club and we get back what we deserve

    A buy out clause then?

The fact that a player can leave when out of contract means we get nothing back anyway.

There is also the small fact that a contract is only signed when both parties agree to it, and therefore, until you are personally involved, you won't know what the initial contract offered was. The player could have rejected and re-negotiated.

Just means players like coker can not just leave for free because if we said to him sign a 2 year extension on your current deal and a club comes in offers x amount for you you can go otherwise if you dont want to sign your up for sale. because as soon as it goes past that point the power switches to the player.

Why would a player want to sign in that instance?

Players know the power they have, the timing of signing a contract is totally in their hands.

  3. To be honest we should not really care about who the manager is, as we are supporters of Aston Villa and it does not matter who plays for the club, manages and runs the club as long as they are associated with Villa we should back them through the good times and the bad.

I think we should care a great deal.

Why. I would support Villa weather we was winning the league or in non league. We don't control what goes on at the club we just support it as fans.

Yes it is nice doing well but it surely not worth losing sleep on who our manager is, If you don't like who the new manager will be then fine keep them to yourself but who really would not support Villa if we got a rubbish manager and we start to do badly.

Nomination 275 for number one villa fan. Get over yourself.

  4. Well Gabby is not the brightest button in the box so I wouldn't believe anything coming from him

Maybe a similar logic should be applied to your posts.

Why would Randy want to appoint someone who has got less than a quarter of the votes than that of the fans favourite?

Because it is not a popularity contest.

The appointment of a manager reflects the level of ambition of the club. To appoint Hughes would clearly state that the ambition is very low

Obviously the current England captain lacks ambition for his club as well then

  5. I think the reason Rafa rejected At. Madrid was because, firstly hes Real Madrid born and bred and theres the massive rivalry there and secondly, they're selling all there best players by the looks of things. Forlan looks to be off, Aguero and De Gea aswell.

Its been said he doesn't want to move his family from Liverpool and wants job in England that he can commute to, which is why he was very close to taking the Blackburn job before the chicken people decided to stick with Kean.

  6. The bad news is that Gary McAllister has, according to Timothy Abraham, NOT left the club.

Doesn't that usually happen when a new manager is in place and chooses their own backroom staff. You don't expect him to have the morals to walk himself?

  7. About bleeding time.

But why has the statement got 'immediate effect'. Why would they use those infamous words again?

    Anyways, not Hughes please.

What do you want them to say?

    From 9 am tomorrow morning?

    When the clock strikes 10?

Since yesterday afternoon but we didn't bother telling anyone?

  8. FFS we need a personality that makes the star players stay and belive we do really have a shot at a 4 place and bring in new stars. not one like hughes who couldent inspire a dog with Diarrhea to take a shit

I bet you sat there giggling at yourself for coming up with such a witty insult.

Personalities don't get players with big egos to stay. Obscene wages do.

  9. i give up joe, we are in a mess on and off the pitch and it's embarrassing

Let me get this right, Allardyce would have been the right appointment because he could stabilize us ....but Ancelotti or Moyes would simply threaten us with relegation!?:lol:

Do you not believe those sort of candidates could do a much better job?

if we lose young and downing the best we can hope for is about 15th, that's the last i'm saying on the matter

Out of the list of managers, i think that any apart from Allerdyce would be more than capable of buying decent replacements with the £35m we receive.

  10. £20m let him go.

Got plenty of talent and natural attributes. However, i can't see him ever becoming a key player at a top 4 club.

He hasn't got the drive needed. When games aren't going well he's not the player to turn to, when you need players to stand up and be counted you can guarantee he'll go missing, when a player shows commitment to a challenge you can be sure he will backing out of the tackle.

Ashley Young has had a disappointing season but never stops trying things, never goes missing, never fails to track back, never just shrugs his shoulders. He has annoyed with his whinging to the ref and arguing with opposition but he cares and wants to succeed, never got that feeling from Downing, despite his obvious talents.

To be honest, Arsenal have been linked and think his characteristics would fit in there perfectly.

His stock is high now and if he feels no loyalty or debt to the club say goodbye.

  11. MON would struggle at any team that didnt give him control of everything and a sizable transfer fund. He'd then proceed to try to run them into the ground.

Most chairmen would be wise to steer well clear of that one-trick pony. He's just like rubberface, but without the tactical nous.

Just like the sizeable transfer fund he had at Leicester?

  12. Because we have just spent a fortune on a striker and real life is not just about signing any player that you like.

he would improve the SQUAD, as he would be an upgrade on heskey

And I'm sure that he would be delighted to sign as a SQUAD players and accept wages befitting a SQUAD player.
