  1. Imagine the melt down on their secret membership sites. They'll be pleasuring themsleves so much over the higlights that they;ll all be anemic.

We can only wait with anticipation for the statistical analysis that will prove that the premiership should be halted now because they have already won it, that Defoe is the long lost son of Pele, conceived just before his penial disfunction, and that Harry Redknapp is the reincarnation of the blessed Mother.

  2. Harry Redknapp has hit out at "weak" Tottenham players and their "idiot" agents who go behind his back to chairman Daniel Levy.

The White Hart Lane boss refused to single out which members of his squad he was referring to when he made his comments at a League Managers' Association Hall of Fame dinner.

But the antics of some disgruntled Spurs stars has clearly struck a nerve with the long-serving manager who insists all disagreements should be dealt with face-to-face between the parties involved.

Redknapp confirmed Spurs supremo Levy always informs him of any contact from players' representatives and clearly has no respect for those who attempt to undermine his authority.

"What I found amazing is that agents will ring the chairman [Daniel Levy] and complain about their player not playing, you know, 'What is your manager doing, why is he picking this player?' " Redknapp said.

"That's something that's new to me and I find it strange and very difficult to deal with - if a player hasn't got the courage to come and see you himself and ask why he's not playing and get his agent, who would know nothing about football anyway, to ring.

"He [the agent] is only there because [the player] is a money-making machine. He's got no interest in the player when he finishes his career probably, but will ring up the chairman and ask why you're not picking this particular player.

"I'm lucky that the chairman doesn't take any notice and he tells me about these idiots who ring him.

"But I just find it amazing that they have the nerve to do that, and I'm amazed that the player is weak enough to let his agent ring up the chairman and ask why he's not playing.

"He should be coming to see me, knocking on my door. But that is what's going on and I've come across it more and more in recent times."

    here

By his own standards he's been quiet for at least a few days!

Usually players go on international duty and make comments about their teams, instead Harry waits for his players to go out of the country and then bitches about them!

  3. There we have it ...

No, there we have a justified response, every word of it true, to your condescending BS about Lennon being merely "a decent premiership player for a mid table team."

Every word of it true? 6 times the achievement.....

I express my opinion that Lennon is an ok player, you call it BS and use playground logic to back it up.

  4. He's a decent premiership player for a mid table team ...

Whilst Lennon has been at Spurs we've finished 5th twice, come within 30 minutes of finishing 4th, won a trophy and made two Wembley final appearances - so that's six times a better accomplishment than anything that MON at Villa - or any current player at Villa - has so far managed.

Let me know when Milner or Young or any of other wide-midfield World Cup squad wannabees at Villa can say the same thing.

There we have it, Lennon has done all of this by himself so he is an amazing player much better than any villa player(has to be true because its in bold.

Just think he was only 30 minutes of being even better, then e would have been 23 times more sucessful than any villa player.

Note, when Spurs we bottom of the table, he had nothing to do with it, that was the fault of the other 10 players.

  5. By now as in any spurs player of obvious class who performs consistently for more than 18 months and aren't made of glass would be gone 'by now'

So you don't rate Lennon. However, Capello rates him, Redknapp rates him, Jol rates him and every manager he's ever played for has rated him.

So I'll trust their (and my) judgement over your assessment "abilities", because it seems you wouldn't know obvious class if it bit you on the arse.

He's a decent premiership player for a mid table team, which is obviously why you have such affection for him. You probably feel you can devote your heart to him as he is not going to go run off to a big club like some of your lost loves.

He will always be around the edge of the England squad, ready to step down when others return from injury.

Continue to enjoy his games where he is on form and electric , and forgot the ineffective afternoons when his crosses hit the corner flag and he runs into dead ends.

  6. If Lennon was that good he would have gone to a big club by now.

He is already at a big club.

In any case, what's with the "by now"? He's 3 years younger than Downing, 2 years younger than Ashley Young and 1 year younger than Milner.

By now as in any spurs player of obvious class who performs consistently for more than 18 months and aren't made of glass would be gone 'by now'

  7. Friedel - 6

    L Young - 7

    Warnock - 6

    Cuellar - 6.5

    Dunne - 7

    Milner - 8

    A Young - 7

    Reo Coker - 9 (MOM)

    Sidwell - 7.5

    Carew - 9

    Agbonlahor - 8

    Subs

    Gardner - 6

    Delph - 6

    Delfounso - 7

Cuellar 6.5? That's even more bizzare than giving NRC man of the match.

I suppose we all see things differently.. Yes Cuellar scored, but his distribution was poor and it looked as if it was a mistake by him that led to their goal..so yes a 6.5

What was wrong with his distribution? He kept it simple, played a great ball setting Milner free and didn't give the ball away once, completing 21 successful passes.

  8. Great match, most important thing was that it was a team perofrmance, everyone played their part, they all gelled together and it payed off.

Friedel - 6 - very quiet game for him.

Warnock - 8 - The Chinese winger was tricky and determined but Warnock dominated him. Going forward he is determined and can pick a pass. After so long with full backs who can either defend or attack, we now have two that can do both!

L Young - 8 As above, wasn't expecting him to be so lively and fresh after the time he has missed. Hopefully our RB for the rest of the season.

Dunne - 7 - Enjoyed the battle. Despite the ref seeming totally blind to some of the pushing and blocking of Bolton, he coped easily.

Cueller - 8 - Worried when I saw the teamsheet with the physicallity of Bolton. However, he coped and thrived, really enjoyed himself and his passing was perfect, not one misplaced ball! Deserves credit for the job he did at RB but hopefully we'll only see him at CB in the future.

A Young - 8 - Getting back to his best. A lot more confidence, trying things and effective. Still plenty more to come but the signs are good.

Milner - 8 - Hard working, skillful and effective. Wouldn't expect anything else from him, but please leave the penalties to somebody else!

NRC - 8 Very disciplined. Sat in the holding position and made sure there was no way through. Passing was good today, kept it simple but quick paced instead of dwelling on the ball.

Sidwell - 8 Thought he was fantastic in the first half, second half less noticable but still doing an effective job. Was getting beyond the strikers today, his passing was better than usual and the amount of tackles and interceptions he makes iss crucial. Also covers others so well, when a CB or NRC went forward he just drops into their position.

Carew - 9 - There was no way he was going to let a couple of old team mates stop him. He played a simple game, getting into good spots and just looking for simple flicks. Linked everything together and his best game for a long long time

Gabb7 - 8.5 - Really looking the part. Best thing today was his positioning, he just kept droping behind Carew in an off side position and just stepped back as Carew flicked it on. They linked up perfectly and then he brought others into the game. Took his chance calmly with his left foot.

MON - 8 Watching the vidoe of West Ham til the early hour payed off! Our pla today was so much more disciplined, our direct balls were aimed to suitable positions instead of just lumping it, we had a clear game plan and stuck to it. Subs were late but the players were enjoying themselves and their confidence was growing. Taking a couple of early to rest wouldn't have done them much good with an international break coming up.

Just hope to see the same line up in the next game!!

  9. Arsenal's security around the dug-out at the Emirates Stadium has been highlighted again after Tottenham staff reported the behaviour of a fan to stewards.

The Spurs bench were unhappy with the language used by a supporter during their 3-0 defeat to Arsene Wenger's men, while Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has previously criticised the design of the stadium for being too open.

Ferguson famously suggested "you need tin helmets" at Arsenal because there is not enough protection for visiting substitutes and staff.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: "He was swearing and there were little kids standing there. I don't understand why people do that. I just asked if he could behave himself and act like a proper human being."

    From F365

I just hope the satdium has a 10 metre exclusion zone around the managers bench to avoid poor Harry getting upset again. He really is the last hope for the morals of this country!

  10. I think MON would be nutty to go into this one with a 442.

I think we got away with it to an extent against Citeh as they were playing two slower players in the centre which played into our hands for most of the game, and also our 2 cbs were playing at their optimum level, which we probably can't expect every game.

I think if we go in 4-5-1 it suits our wingers and we can get at them, but it could be a bit backs to the wall, so we need NRC please. I predict a gritty 0-0 or 1-1.

However, 442 and I think it'll be game that we play into their hands and they'll stroll it 2-0 without getting into 2nd gear.

We got away with it against city, but i'm sure that they'd have won had ireland been playing from the start, and chelsea are better than city.

Ultimately our effort was 100% throughout. Chelsea were i'd say, working at about 50% and upped it to about 75% after our second. It shows that if you do have 11 men working for each other anything can happen in football, regardless of MON's lack of tactics. I think the failings if the 442 with petrov may again come back to haunt us if he sticks with it, but at the moment those two at the back have given us some leadership that perhaps we haven't had when this system has invariably failed over the last 6 months.

    .

Maybe you'd like to admit that MON got it right today and you called it wrong?

  11. Notice quite a few supporters giving reasons for or nearly apologising for not going. To me, its irrelevant. Geographical, financial, and logistical reasons for not going have no reflection on being a fan. Sit anywhere in Villa Park on match day and you'll meet some fans that couldn't name the players sat on the bench, who don't know the result of the last away game, who can walk out of an embarasing defeat with a big smile on their face.

All that matters is how much the club means to you. True fans would have felt sick/angry/depressed on Saturday and would have been buzzing last night. Some of us are negative and worry, some of us are defiant in our support for everything the club does, doesn't matter or effect how much of a fan you are.

Hopefully on this site we're all fans who bleed claret and blue and show it in many different ways, doesn't mean we'll agree on everything, doesn't mean we won't argue, but it does mean that when win it makes our whole life so much better.
