  1. Would they try and trade Carroll for Bent I wonder ?

I could see McLeish loving that move

Carroll will come in on loan for the remainder of the season as part of the deal. Also brace yourself for a double swoop for naismith and Davis from rangers. petrov may also be on his way out too

Naismith is out injured for the rest of the season

  2. Liverpool Football Club is very surprised and disappointed with the decision of the Football Association Commission to find Luis Suarez guilty of the charges against him.

We look forward to the publication of the Commission's Judgment. We will study the detailed reasons of the Commission once they become available, but reserve our right to appeal or take any other course of action we feel appropriate with regards to this situation.

We find it extraordinary that Luis can be found guilty on the word of Patrice Evra alone when no-one else on the field of play - including Evra's own Manchester United teammates and all the match officials - heard the alleged conversation between the two players in a crowded Kop goalmouth while a corner kick was about to be taken.

The Club takes extremely seriously the fight against all forms of discrimination and has a long and successful track record in work relating to anti-racist activity and social inclusion. We remain committed to this ideal and equality for all, irrespective of a person's background.

LFC considers racism in any form to be unacceptable - without compromise. It is our strong held belief, having gone over the facts of the case, that Luis Suarez did not commit any racist act. It is also our opinion that the accusation by this particular player was not credible - certainly no more credible than his prior unfounded accusations.

It is key to note that Patrice Evra himself in his written statement in this case said 'I don't think that Luis Suarez is racist'. The FA in their opening remarks accepted that Luis Suarez was not racist.

Luis himself is of a mixed race family background as his grandfather was black. He has been personally involved since the 2010 World Cup in a charitable project which uses sport to encourage solidarity amongst people of different backgrounds with the central theme that the colour of a person's skin does not matter; they can all play together as a team.

He has played with black players and mixed with their families whilst with the Uruguay national side and was Captain at Ajax Amsterdam of a team with a proud multi-cultural profile, many of whom became good friends.

It seems incredible to us that a player of mixed heritage should be accused and found guilty in the way he has based on the evidence presented. We do not recognise the way in which Luis Suarez has been characterised.

It appears to us that the FA were determined to bring charges against Luis Suarez, even before interviewing him at the beginning of November. Nothing we have heard in the course of the hearing has changed our view that Luis Suarez is innocent of the charges brought against him and we will provide Luis with whatever support he now needs to clear his name.

We would also like to know when the FA intend to charge Patrice Evra with making abusive remarks to an opponent after he admitted himself in his evidence to insulting Luis Suarez in Spanish in the most objectionable of terms. Luis, to his credit, actually told the FA he had not heard the insult.

    l Disgraceful statement by Liverpool

  3. lol you saw him once 2 years ago? How can you even comment on his progression if you haven't even witnessed it?

    Because he is either

    a) on the wind up with his constant ludicrous statements about players.

    B) suffering from mental issues and really believes what he says.

  4. Mikey Drennan is a very good player and very highly rated by the coaching staff. He was put straight into the reserves as a 16 yr old and scored on his debut against Blackpool last season.

His form dipped as the season went on (probably due to being homesick) and he decided to go back to Ireland. The club didn't want to release him and he has decided to give it another try.

We sometimes forget that these players are only young lads and are away from their family. Some lads can take it in their stride and other boys struggle when away from home.

Jack Grealish, Jordan Graham, Callum Robinson, DJ, Daniel Crowley, Gary Gardner etc are all terrific prospects and all of them might end up in our first team but the reality is that even Gary Gardner has only a 50/50 chance of being a Villa first team regular.

So well said! Once a player has become a member of the first team squad, fine, think anyone is entitled to their opinion.

However, when they are young kids chasing their dreams i think its quite crass to slag them off, and just as crass to claim they are the next Messi, David Beckham or Jermain Beckford. They're all following a dream and we'd all love to be in their position, but they are kids.

  5. imo he is dreadful, he should be at a lower league club

    Like Ethan Moore?

So unless a player has the potential to be a world star, Villa should just dump them?

Villa need a squad of youngsters in each age group to be able to compete in the various competitions. They can't all be amazing, but they all play an important role. They also develop at different rates, how many who saw Chris Herd play 3 or 4 seasons ago would have picked him out?

But hey, carry on making your judgments about small snapshots of players, its not like you're going to ruin your credibility.

  6. not made 1st team debut for cheltenham yet but is progressing well in youth and reserves

Really, you obviously know more than the Cheltenham fans who have yet to see him play at any level this season due to his 'personal issues'.

Or could you just be spouting unsubstantiated crap just to prove yet another ridiculous point?

  7. Three Cm, all comfortable on the ball, yet they seemed totally incapable of passing to each other. Every time they got the ball they ended up passing back to the defence or wasting it. Where was the possession, the movement. They never got in positions to receive the ball and conceded so much space.

    Dire/
