Brum Carson's a loan ranger
CARSON YEUNG will BORROW the £57million he needs to seal his takeover of Birmingham.
The Hong Kong businessman is set to fund the buy-out through a bridging loan.
And once the deal is complete, Yeung will raise equity through a share issue at parent company Grandtop International.
The news will come as a blow to fans, who are expecting a huge injection of cash into the Premier League club.
If Yeung is planning a major investment, it looks as if it will be on the same basis as the deficit spending at Manchester United and Liverpool.
The Chinese millionaire has put down a £3m deposit and yesterday made an offer of £1 a share to co-owners David Sullivan and David and Ralph Gold, which has been accepted.
Yeung now has three weeks to buy the rest of the club from the other, smaller shareholders.
so if they go down next season the guy is basically screwed if he is finacing it by a loan
Usually I'd be totally against people buying football clubs through bridging loans and without the funds to develop them, but I might just forgive this one.

People talk about the 3 year rotation with managers, that mostly came because the fans lost their patience and Doug was always ready to press the button when there was hostility, anything to move the negatvitiy away from him. Improvement is never a straight line graph, there will be dips along the way, just like Moyes and Fergusson as people have already said. The squad is worrying, we have been poor in the transfer market and the players haven't clicked yet on the pitch. However, we're two games in, I'd rather the manager who has brought exciting players, memorable games and lots of improvement be given the chance to recover from a small set back and soar again.

Seen it suggested on 3 different sites now that pompey could be facing administration if their deal falls through, which is looking likely. 10 points deducted could finish them.

The wigan fans seem to be very concerned with their defence. Bramble has had a poor preseason and Boyce next to him isn't a formidable pair. They're still adjucting to a total change in style and if they tru to attack I think it will be ours for the taking.
-
To be fair to Gabby, his main attribute is his pace, and any time he knocked the ball past a defender they chopped him down or held him, just like ALbrighton as well. Their defending was so synical because they knew the ref was not going to do anything. In a premiership game their would have been endless bookings.

Don't think now is the time to worry about set pieces. Training at the moment is surely about fitness, the tactical stuff will come later. Also, the whole team defends set pieces, and the team was packed with kids.

why no sick pay?
you're in hospital - therefore sick-pay surely?
just tell work there's an issue with your kidneys. job done.
Know of someone donating to a family soon, been told by his work that he won't be getting a penny because it is voluntary and there is nothing actually wrong with him.

Not sure if I posted this in another thread: but nearly every human has an above average number legs...
What does that even mean?
Are there a bunch of tri-legged people running around I haven't noticed or something?
No it means that because not everyone has twolegs the average (mean) is less than two as all the amputees lower the mean, not significantly but they lower it. So nearly all human beings aren't amputees, so anyone with two legs (ie most of us) has an abopve average (mean) number of legs
Now the above also works for the median (as that would be 1 leg) but if we used the mode, the mode would be 2 and then nearly everybody would have the average number of legs
The median would be 2 as well, the mean is the only average that will not be 2.

Yeah, I'm lost by that one too...
Most people have 2 obviously, but some unfortunates have 1 or none. Therefore the mean average for the entire human race is less than two, probably 1.999........, therefore most people have more than the average!

If Torres and Gerrard play the majority of the games left they have a small chance. If Gerard misses more than a couple of games, no chance. Think its United's theis year.

I'm a teacher and i will gladly send any future offspring to state school.
If I could afford private school, the likelihood is that I could also afford a house within the catchment area of a good state school.
My experience with the private sector is limited, but I did spend a shared residential trip with my school and a private school and found the attitude of the staff and the children of the private school shocking. Our kids were from a challenging area but I wouldn't have swapped them for anything.

Got to agree with Outbyeaster, I go to the occassionally reserve game at bescott and about 50% at Villa Park. At these games you get a lot of young families and real hardcore and knowledgable fans of all ages. To move games to such an inconvienient venue shows a lot of disrespect to thses fans.

Curtis Davies was only on loan last year and player 12 games, can you really class him as the defence of 2007/2008. Knight played 27 so surely he should be classed as the main player.

General,
The artist Stephen Flemming currenlty has a painting of Villa Part in the Summer Exhibition, in the Royal academ of Arts, London.
After researching the artist I know that he has painted a mural at the Brown's stadium, and that Randy has his "Hands of Fate" painting displayed in a restaurant in the stadium as well.
Has Randy comissioned the piece, seen it or even heard about it?
By the way, it is very impressive!
