So was there a lock in last time? What should i expect to pay for a pint in pubs in dublin? I see Murrys have discounts all weekend, how much will it be in there? I see the comment about it being expensive for drink in dublin but you can easily pay 350 a pint in pubs in Hereford which equates to €4 - 450.
Do you think we'll be ok in villa shirts around dublin after the game. Would getting into clubs be a problem?
Hotel is pointless with flying at 7am.
I really did think pubs would be open later than 3am. Hopefully Murrys will be
It will probably be no more than €4 for a pint in Murrays. You'll be ok in Villa shirts in the city of course. Getting in to most clubs though would definitely be a problem though. I'm hoping for a lock in myself, I was legless by about midnight last time so cant remember if there was one!

think if it sells out early, Rovers can erect a temporary stand, they have done this for high-profile friendlies and games before

Yep pretty ridiculous prices Liverpool are charging but I'll be there!
Come on the Villa. Anfield is always a good trip and I'm hoping we've a decent crowd there

Jesus some people are very quick to come to conclusions!
Give the lad a chance!!
For anyone writing him off already I would point to a certain Mr.Juan Pablo Angel. Couldn't kick snow off a rope when we first signed him but turned out to be a bloody good centre forward

i actually would have given it to stan, and thats not anything to do with sentiment, but purely football.
i agree with what others have said about this being the worst villa team now for a long time, and i think we'd me much further in the sh*t if it wasnt for stan running his heart out in the early part of the season, where we picked up most of our points ( not that it was a massive tally). its been plainly obvious theres a gaping hole in our midfield without him.
so i think as a fan of a struggling team it was certainly heartening to see him give his all every single time he went on the pitch. if we'd eleven stans we'd have no trouble at all. also pitched in with 5 important goals

The other night summed up everything about his football knowledge.
Ireland gets injured in the warm up and so he starts with 5 defenders and a defensive cm.
We had players with a bit of craft such as Bannan and Carruthers sitting on the bench... pathetic!

That's the spirit, you big poo-poo-face.i know you are but what am i?

its 2011! The only people interested in any bigotry with regard Ireland/England are Scottish people! Celtic and Rangers fans!
Theres no animosity at all any more, Im looking forward to having a bit of banter with England fans in and around town and Im sure they'll be over to enjoy themselves as well.
-
hopefully the FAI will use their heads and give the English fa little or no tickets at all.
They should be given the same allocation as any other away fans.
I go to all the Ireland games and cant wait for this one.
99.99% of England fans are well behaved, and even in 1995 the trouble was started by Combat 18 members who had no interest in the match.
The English fans will be well accepted by the majority of the crowd as they should be and I reckon it'll be a great occasion with little or no trouble regardless of the score!
Ireland will win though :winkold:

im gonna give him my 100% backing and give him the chance he deserves.
at the end of the day, if he brings even some of the success he had at liverpool eg league cups, fa cup, uefa cup, second place finish etc to this club well then ill be one happy man.
gonna take a while to impose his ideas with the transfer window shut but for all the pessimists, give the man a bit of respect and a fair crack of the whip!!!

i personally think we're laughing with this deal, what a great bit of business!
as a big republic of ireland fan i was disappointed with his choice to quit playing for his country.
but as mentioned here by one or two, that is beside the point.
he is much more technically gifted than milner, and has never really shown bad attitude at his club, he's had dips in form like any normal professional!
if kevin macdonald gets the job, he worked with stephen ireland when he was republic of ireland assistant manager and so knows him well already and should have no problem working with him.

I said at the time (not on here evidently!) that either Dunney or Distin (who's been excellent for Everton) would do me.
Are you sure you're their type? :winkold:

funny how after one game people start voting for nrc, whereas before the season started petrov would have easily won this poll.
petrov for me definitely, he's our most consistent player and is a talker on the pitch.
-
never in a million years should he go, one game in!!
we had a bad day at the office but he is one of the best managers in the game and will get it right.
the impatience of some villa supporters is unbelievable!
-
petrov for me. mind you i wouldn't want to lose either as they have both been top class for us.
barry over a longer period, but i think stan has really found his feet now and could be a really major player for us over the next 4/5 seasons.

to the tune of agadoo:
ashley young young young,
on his webcam he's well hung,
ashley young young young,
shitted on the city scum,
on the left, on the right,
he makes defenders look shite,
ashley young young young,
he is **** dynamite
Brilliant! But i can't help but think that this will end up being another potentially great chant that will never get to the terraces. IMO this is one of the best and easiest chants to remember for young, who desperately needs a chant.
cheers mate glad you agree

in, out, in, out,
he'll kick it all about,
you do the reo-coker and you turn around,
and thats what its all about.
WHOOOAAAH NIGEL REO-COKER, WHOOOAH NIGEL REO-COKER!!
i could see that being belted out of the holte end!
Transfer Speculation (Summer 2013)

I'd like to see us go for Wilfired Bony personally. Has looked quality any time I've seen him.
Not surprised in the slightest at Benteke handing in the transfer request and I wouldn't say Lambert is either.
I'd still get rid of Bent as he hasn't the work ethic needed to suit our current approach whereby every man has to put a serious shift in.
Let's just hope Benteke is a serious flop at his next club, which could easily happen as one good season does not make a world class player.
