Does anyone think Rashford or Martial played better today than Davis yesterday? I think they were quite similar. They each had equally as many chances as Davis, yet Davis also had a better hold up game. He is quite good. Needs to sign a new deal soon before he breaks trough.

I am just happy he didn't let in a goal like de Gea today.

No he didn’t, he was flapping at it which caused the problem in the first place.
Davis backed into him regardless.

Nyland fumbled the catch. That was the problem. It should have been a simple clean catch. So many keepers and only Heaton I would trust, and he is injured.
He caught it and that's the end of the story. Davis would have backed into him anyway, because he didn't respect the situation. This stuff happens, we learn and move on
-
Harsh on Nyland. He had control, but Davis was baking towards goal when he should have been pushing forward and protecting Nyland, since Nyland was catching the ball.
-
He didn't drop it, he was pushed. People can't change facts even if Trump has made it standard.

If so I've missed that. Where did you read that?
I just remember something, but that might be only in the cups.

His absence might simply be Dean Smith excluding him because he’s not allowed any involvement in the Chelsea game, and so the manager went with players who can play a part in both the opening two fixtures? I’m just not sure we have the depth of squad required to send CMs away, an injury to any of Grealish, McGinn, or Luiz and we’re calling on Lansbury...........and that should worry all Villa fans. Injuries are going to happen.
Hasn't this rule changed?

I think El Ghazi is a lot better despite having the strength of a butterfly.
And he stings like a bee

Kept a clean sheet. When was the last time a Villa keeper did that? Good game, Nyland!

I wonder why we went for Wesley over Samatta in the summer? Twice the price and less goals in the same division.
It’ll be a “what could have been” if we’d had him from the Summer.
He looks sharper and far more clinical than Wesley.
You don't know the summer price for Samatta....

Villa should keep him. He is good enough to play.

When Villa stays up, Grealish will stay put.

Sending 1 of your only 2 senior centre backs on loan. The other centre back has practically had a year of his career ruined
That was criminal
Sure. But Smith kept on playing him, and there where incoming players that didn't materialize. And Elphick might have wanted to go. It's easy to criticize not knowing the full truth. It was a shit summer and I am sure everyone did their best.

We ended up recalling 2 players in january that he sent out on loan.
And? Smith brought in Drinkwater this January...Sometimes they get decisions right, sometimes they don't

You ignore how he left us.
Left us in a similar state to how he found us. Built nothing sustainable and failed to get us up. All while playing a brand of football that was unwatchable at times.
And you ignore the fact that the club was practically bankrupt until late in the transfer window when the new owners came in.

haha are you trying draw me in.
He didn't deserve some of the criticism he got, for sure.....but his last season was a bit meh.the one before with 24 wins was more than adequate.
I agree that Smith didn't have that much time to build a new team last summer, but Bruce practically just had days to get in players the summer before. So a lot of the criticism was and is stupid.
