  1. Gazton, may I ask what do you think GH should have done when his performances where downright awful? For the record, I don't agree with GH going to the press and slating him publicly, but surely he needed to be told to up his game!?

All SI really had to do after that was to begin performing in a proper manner, justifying the faith we've shown in him by signing him in the first place, not to mention making him among the top earners in the club, right? Did this ever happen?

I respect the fact that he was never GH choice to begin with but given what happened with Dunne, I'd like to think SI would've gotten his chance again as well, had he been willing to work harder. Obviously I'm not implying he's 'taken the mick out of us as a club' or anything like that, which I don't think he has. All I am saying is it doesn't seem like he wants or ever wanted to be here.

  2. I was hoping that they would keep him for the spring too, and give him some games but I really do hope that the loan helps him and he would be a great player for us next season.

Surely he is there for the rest of the season.

  3. Do a Milner with him - call the deal off and him back at 10.55 - we owe Newcastle that!!!

That would be awesome. Too bad we need to cut wages, if it where up to me I'd let Ireland rot in the reserves until someone would stomp up what we we 'paid' for him.

  4. Can't see him ever playing a game for us anymore tbh, not unless we get a new manager in the summer. And the more I think about it, don't think I ever want to see him in a villashirt, 'playing' the way he has.

  5. We can win this. We should win this. But we'll probably have to dig deep and play like we did last Saturday. I am dreaming of times when we killed of teams in the first half and it was just smooth sailing for the rest of the match. Prediction: Wigan - Villa 1-2. We take it in the ass in the first 10 minutes, after which we throw everything at them and at last we score an injury-time winner. Gabby & Bent will score.

  6. Makoun was finally prised from Lyon for a fee of £5million last week after a lengthy pursuit by Houllier.

And the 63-year-old has revealed that midfielder Makoun, 27, is desperate to make his mark on the Premier League.

He added: "Jean came here for that reason, he didn't come here for money. It's a dream move for him.

"He has all the attributes needed for this league. He plays with a smile on his face and is always happy - but he's also a moaning and whinging player!

"When he came back into the Lyon team they went on a run of 13 games without defeat so the manager was understandably reluctant to let him go.

"I had to travel to France and get things sorted but fortunately I've got a good relationship with the chairman.

He started with the question "if you were the manager of Lyon would you let him go?" I said no!

"But there was an agreement that they would let him go in January and they stayed true to their word. He will be a great player for us."

What the **** does that mean?

  7. I'd really hate to see DJ leave now that he's finally settled in and started to come good. Overall he's probably been our most consistent performer thus far this season. Having said that, if we are going to loose a winger, I'd rather it be DJ than Young or Albrighton. Although I fear Young may leave anyhow in the summer, regardless of our league position. So it would seem kinda strange to be selling DJ at this point.

  8. It's unthinkable we might get relegated with the squad we've got, a squad that finished 6th last season. Nevertheless, under this clown it's starting to feel very likely. I really don't like the idea of sacking a manager midway through the season and I generally believe managers in the Premier League get sacked far too easily. A manager should be given proper time to get their ideas across and make their mark but the results and performances under GH have been totally abysmal and there really isn't much to suggest they might change anytime soon. Thus I too feel he should be given the boot right now, when there is still time for a new manger to come in and assess the current squad and make the needed adjustments.

  9. WTF!? Has Houllier recently said he's gonna be rushing him back asap? He probably wishes Delph would get injured again and stay out for the remainder of the season, right? Unbelievable, people will just conjure up anything to slate the manager nowadays.

  10. Ireland was utterly useless, again. Was he hungover or what? Not once did I see him committed going for the ball, he just let the opposition take it, time and time again. I'd let him rot in the reserves until he changes his attitude. Even though the youngsters had a difficult day today, at least they are fighting and playing their guts out.

Some poor defending again at set pieces, but that's to be expected at the moment. Still we did plenty out there today, should have got a goal minimum for our efforts. A draw would not have been unfair either. We have severe problems against physical teams as it stands. Unbelievable as it sounds I think at the moment we have a better chance of winning against the likes of Arsenal, Manu, Chelsea, then against Blackburn, Bolton, Stoke, etc.
