He plays for the best team in the world, who have the best striker in the world, you know the one who absolutely smashed all the PL records.

but whatever you can have your own opinion....... even if its wrong.😆

Ok, so ignoring the last line of your post. You are saying that, because he is part of the best squad in the world, and not playing because the best striker in the world plays ahead of him, that makes him a better striker than Watkins.

Surely you see that your argument is non-sensical?
I'm just trying to (desperately) understand why you would say that.

(Unless you can't admit that, for at least this season, Watkins has far outperformed, and is therefore a better striker than Alvarez. That could all change next season.)

It's okay to admit that you're wrong!

I'm really not trying to get into a "I'm smarter than you conflict," I'm genuinely interested why @paul514 would put Alvarez in the top ten strikers in the world and not Watkins who is measurably one of the best strikers in Europe this season, and, well, Alvarez isn't.

Simple if he was playing first team he would be banging them in. There is a reason he is valued so highly

So, it’s a hypothetical season of statistics that you’ve imagined?

I’m just amazed - we have a Villa striker who is putting up some of the best numbers in Europe, in the toughest league in Europe. As Villa fans, this is incredible. We haven’t had someone with this kind of productivity since Gary Shaw. It’s baffling that you rate a striker higher, who, by your own admission, doesn’t play that much.

My moral of the story would be don't seek advice because it'll more than likley be bollocks just crack on with the online application and the passport office will only be as good as the person they give your application to

A few years ago I renewed my UK passport from the US by mail and it was all fine. I remember reading then about applying for a passport for a child who was born outside of the UK - it seemed pretty straightforward. I will make sure I read the instructions really carefully though!

it was the reason I left England and went back to living in Germany

long story, i moved my wife and 2 kids to the UK November 2022, did a load of online research before i went, spoke to a couple of lawyers before I went, consensus was go to the uk, apply for a visa, pay a load of money, everything will be fine. Moved to the UK, you cant do the visa application from inside the UK you have to be outside and visa application took 6 months because of the Ukraine war and once you start the application you cant travel anywhere, so my wife and kids would have to go back to Germany for 6 months while I did the application, she wouldn't even be able to visit the uk in that time, and that application would cost circa £4500 and id have to make a contribution to the NHS of about £1500 a year and they could say no and anytime in the next 5 years they could revoke it...and because my wife didn't have a visa she legally wasn't allowed to live in the rented accommodation that I had, and you cant do a visa application without a fixed address...but the advice from the lawyer was get your kids passports because that will make my case stronger...

I phoned the passport office, requested a meeting and they said no they don't do that anymore, they said I had to post the kids German passports to them, i said no, partly because of the risk of posting them partly because of the risk of my kids actually leaving the country before the application was complete which is why i wanted the meeting, passport office advice was to photocopy each passport and get it signed by a lawyer and send it in with birth certificates, marriage certificate etc etc and then I had to include a letter stating that i wasn't living at the address that i should be in because my rented house had fallen through and that they needed to be sent somewhere else, the documents in each application were exactly the same. The weird thing with the UK passport office is then I had to send each application to a different office, my daughters passport was approved straight away, got it within 6 weeks i think, really smooth easy process, sent to my moms house where i was living, my son's passport was rejected, they don't accept photocopies they want original documents, several phone calls later they're not interested, refused to issue him a passport

my wife left, she'd had enough, went back to Germany, the amount of bad advice from official government offices and the pissing around with the passport meant she didnt want to do a visa application, she doesn't trust them and to be fair she's right

from germany they gave me a case officer at the passport office so i had several emails and phone calls with him, only after i could prove that i no longer lived in the UK would the passport office accept photocopies of my son's german passport and issue him with a UK passport....and despite the emails and phones calls regarding where to send it they of course sent it to the wrong address

i was there for 3 months and the whole thing was a shambles

What an absolute shit show. I'm so sorry about that!

    Top 7 is nailed on

    Haaland
    Mbappe
    Martinez
    Osimhen
    Kane
    Alvarez
    Openda

    Watkins

On what planet is Alvarez a better striker than Watkins? Ped doesn't even play him as a striker.

True but he's not trained today and if he's feeling pain where he had surgery that may mean it's not healed properly. I have a feeling we will get some bad news tomorrow.

This injury started last summer in the U21's. I wish International football was just scrapped. It's shyte. All it's done for AVFC over the last 15 years is get our best players poached.

It's boring to watch and with a goon like Southgate in charge it's infuriating to watch. My first world cup was Mexico '86 and it was awesome. But football has changed and FIFA is one of the most corrupt organizations on the planet. The FA are a joke.

Throw it all in the bin is my opinion.

Looks like my son’s British citizenship application just went through early this morning, so we’re very happy here. A giant debit on the credit card. 🇬🇧 Had to assemble dozens of documents, etc. I’m so happy for him — and relieved. I love America, but the violence and authoritarianism are worrying us. He’ll be another “dually” now, like me. He’s been to Birmingham, but not to Villa Park, so that will have to be his first stop as a Brit.

If you hold a British passport how involved was it? I was born in the UK and would like my boys to have British passports.

Depends which poll you look at, they are all over the place, the one published today so far has Biden ahead (Morning Consult) It also has by far the largest sample size of recent polling. Ipsos has Biden ahead, TIPP Insights has Biden ahead or evens. Others have Trump ahead.

Essentially the polling is all over the place, they haven’t really got a clue.

It will be close for sure. The Dems need to get the vote out with the same fervor they had last time.

I'm two episodes into The Brothers Sun, on Netflix. It's fantastic.

Action, plot, comedy, absurdity, soundtrack - it's got the lot.

On the heels of "Everything, Everywhere, All At Once", it's another absolute winner for Michelle Yeoh.

It's good and worth finishing but loses something and gets a bit silly as it goes along. Starts great and ends good if that makes sense. Netflix also announced yesterday that s2 had been cancelled.

He really pissed on your chips there Rob 🤣

I think I am pretty typical.

My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Some times he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy, the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical, summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds, pretty standard really. At the age of 12 I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum, it's breathtaking, I suggest you try it.
