Suppose it wasnt an easy 30 minutes to play, Villa was put under great pressure and entire team just trying to hold on to the lead, teammates needs to figure out how to play him etc. Not sure why Tonev didnt give Nicklas a one on one infront of goal. A bit invisible today but perhaps understandable.

I view him as more of a goalscorer (was his most important role for us), he really has a shot that can compete. I'm not sure if you have a good freekick taker around the 18-yard box, his free kick shots arent bad by any means. I'm looking forward to seeing Nicklas in this new role, he does have good vision especially on the counter, so I hope he can make an instant impact. He might need time to gel in the role, but as I understand hes been looking alright in the teams friendlies

His best asset is still his shot, so if you have a creative midtfielder that could set him up just outside the box it would benefit his scoring chances.

I wouldnt use Nicklas on top in your 433 system in prem. league, Nicklas was most likely bought to make use of the space created by Benteke just around the penalty area. There he can use his best asset, his shot. He needs a partner at the top I think, if you sell Benteke. He is most used to playing in a 442 system. I dont know if Nicklas becomes an instant hit, but he is professional so give him some time and he will make it.

Nicklas have great feet and his shot is the best ive seen in the danish league for many years, just look at his goals. But he isnt strong in the air, which is also why I'd think he isnt a Benteke replacement. His counter attacking game is one of his strong sides too, he has got good vision. I'd like to see Benteke with Nicklas when he has adjusted to the english game. Nicklas wouldnt work well as a lone striker, you also wouldnt benefit from his creative game, when he has a bit of space to work on he is terrific, and Benteke can give him that room. If you are going to use him as Benteke that would be a really shame, with Lambert in charge I'm sure you have scouted Nicklas well and wont play him alone on top. We don't play with a lone striker. At least we didn't towards the end of the season, it was definitely a front three, proven by the volume of goals Gabby in particular scored. Do you think Helenius has the turn of pace to play as a wide striker? Ah, Villa wasnt shown that often here in Denmark in the latter stages of last season. With Okore and Helenius having joined you, we will get to see a lot more Villa games next season. He might, he is not slow by any means and he can create chances, but to be honest I wouldnt be able to give you a qualified answer. I've never seen anyone play him wide, not in the youth teams either. But what you want with Helenius is to line him up for his main asset, his shot.

Well, he has definitely been uncovered as a great talent for some time. I also think that Okore's speed and strength will give him an extra edge and make him more ready for English football. Nicklas needs to put on a bit more muscle.

Haha i'm sure there is a gulf in ability, I was singing the song we sing about Benteke. It just so happens Nicklas can fit into the same song Ah, makes sense . You should try the danish Helenius song, converted it would go something like "We love to fight, and do cocaine, and Nicklas Helenius!"

oooooh Nicklas Helenius! I think i prefer Ooooh Christian Benteke - pls stay. Needless to say, Nicklas will have to take a step or two up to be compared with where Benteke is now, having already made an impact in England. But you're practicly stealing him from us (AaB) at the price you're paying around 1.5 and 2 million pounds, or a bit more if all clauses are activated. He is worth more than that.

28 from Aalborg. I'm here mostly to follow Nicklas Helenius' career in Villa, I think you got him too cheap but thats how the market works. I'd like to chip in if there are some interesting discussions on this board. Thanks!
