We were brilliant today and the atmosphere was the best I’ve known down the Villa for years…absolutely buzzing!
There is something very special happening down at Villa Park at the moment and I’m very excited- 5

We’re last game on motd and apparently chelsea were poor….who did they play again?

I love Unai Emery

Don’t know why, but I fancy us…not totally convinced with Chelsea under Potter atm

We all know what a difficult job any manager was coming into
If anything, it is as much about mental strength and self belief as it is about coaching
There is no doubt we have got some talented players.
Emery is a manager who will bring that to the squad, but it’s going to take time…as I said it’s going to be difficult
In Emery we must trust

The Sand people are easily startled, but they'll soon be back, and in greater numbers.
Use the force

This is all part of the process…he wants to play out from the back…that’s why Pickford always gets the nod for England
No good in friendly games, you’ll only find out in competitive games whether players can play you want to or not
Some players can be coached, others can’t…we’ll see

Really encouraging that we appear to have quality people like Aaron working hard behind the spotlight in the club…solid foundation for the club…long may it continue

And his assistant manager has Villa in his name… just proves deep down he’s always loved the Villa.
Blimey that is spooky

Complete opposite reaction to Gerrard appointment…
Very excited and optimistic about Emery as Aston Villa manager
The Villa link is so ironic….SeVilla, Villarreal…it’s written in the stars

Great news. Just what club needed.
It lowers the argument (not that I agreed anyway) that Gerrard hasn’t got the dressing room.
Odd that they don’t say how long.
Very happy with this but think a certain young German lady may have been an influence….

Very happy with this
Don’t want to lose your better players and he is a very good player imoWould help if he was played in his preferred midfield position though…not a cdm

I know I wasn't overly enthusiastic at the time but I do wish we'd gone with Eddie Howe. He's got them playing what I wanna watch.
There's not that much difference in the quality of the squads either.
Future England manager…u heard it here first

What about Michael Beale…oh the irony

Again on Talksport they are saying Bruno Lage's sacking was a bit harsh as he didn't really have a recognised striker with Jiminez out, but says it happens unfortunately. I thought, what about our man Gerrard, 2 strikers and still can't score, surely that justifies the sack then, or not cause he's a media darling.
I've also realised with Gerrard obviously wanting the Liverpool job, which Purslow would know, he was obviously appointed to learn his trade with us, until he was good enough for the LIverpool job, which in reality is bonkers from Purslow.
His appointment never made any sense to me…?
Indeed, why would you appoint an unproven premier league manager who if he did turn out to be successful would; first chance he got, be off to Liverpool (with all his coaching staff)
How is that building a solid foundation for the future of Aston Villa football club?
Bizarre imo, especially considering how switched on Purslow appears to be
I can only imagine he was taken in by SG and believed he would come good…now his reputation is riding on this appointment big style.

If we beat Leicester and Rogers is consequently sacked, then we lose the next few games, there is no way I would want Gerrard replaced by Rogers.
That would be insane in my opinion.
Good chance it’ll happen then

Listen!….I’m not a Gerrard fan…but he’s our manager and while he is I’ll support him
To be fair to him, I’m impressed by the mentality of the Rangers players to achieve what they have done getting into the Champions League
That took some mental strength
Let’s hope that in part is down to the mentality he installed in the group
Clutching at straws maybe but I’m trying to be positive

Other than the Leeds and Southampton games, did not think our play was good last season either.
Agreed
That’s because Coutinho turned up in those games. If he doesn’t we generally have a stinker

Frustrated…
Bizarrely I thought we played some good football but with no cutting edge up front
We controlled the game possession wise but they pretty much put all their players behind the ball…even before we conceded
Quality has got to be there in the final third. It was lacking today due in no small part that they are fighting for their lives and their last ditch defending was effective unfortunately….
Europe hasn’t gone but feels like it is slipping away…feck!
