That was as good a performance I’ve seen from a Villa team for a long time
With Jack back in the side we look a very good balanced team
All the players know their roles and work their socks off for the team
They must of taken a lot of belief from that game as they stood toe to toe with arguably the best footballing side in the championship and outplayed them.

A world class player that is, lets face it too good to be playing for us in the championship...that’s what he thinks anyway imo... he gives that impression

This was always going to be tough but even harder with 2 key players out.
Bruce went with the safe option to stop them playing and knick a point or even all 3 with a smash and grab
That went to pot when Elmo came off and Onomah came on. He really is s@@t and a waste of space imo. I don’t know what Bruce sees in him.
We need to be braver with Preston on Tuesday and keep to the system we have been playing in our winning run. We never really looked like scoring against Fulham
Play Lansbury and O’Hare or Green (if fit) in the positions that Jack and Albert play in. Preston are no mugs and will cause us a few problems if we let them
Come on Villa !

He really is turning into a special player for us. Such a talent and ran the show today.
Great performance all round by the team

Reading that brought a tear to my eye...
Proud to be British and a Villa fan

I agree with Heretic that the circular badge should come back. The badges since then...well sorry to say but they’re just bland and uninspiring imo

Is Jack Grealish turning into the player we all wished he would be?
Well on his last few peformances he certainly looks like he is trying to be...I see a bit of Brian Little in the boy...maybe just maybe...:-;

Another good result today
Was impressed with our shape and play, we are more positive
Not perfect but when we had the ball we looked more direct
Not sure what has changed exactly but we are playing more as a team
-
Thought we played alright first half with a really good goal but giving the ball away cheaply at times
Forest aren’t a bad side on the ball but haven’t really created anything.
You can see what Warburton was trying to do but managers are rarely given enough time these days.
Will be a good 3 points if we hold on

VillaJ100 I reckon your mate on the council is right
There is a lot of Chinese investment in the city at the moment and owning the biggest club in Birmingham will give you a lot of clout.
The redevelopment of the ground will include a complex similar to Wembley imo so people will be drawn into the area not just on match days...we’ll see!

We needed a strong character to come in and sort out and organise the team. He has brought some of this it has to be said, but his tactics and coaching are rubbish.
Just hope they don’t go short term and appoint Monk. Get Dean Smith and his coaching staff in and build for the future

All the club are focusing on is Premier League football. It’s a business and that’s where the money is
As far as they’re concerned we are in contention for promotion, be it via the playoffs. To them it makes no (business) sense to sack the manager
Unfortunately that is why we are stuck with Bruce...frustrating as most of us know this will end in tears!
-
It’s not gonna happen I know but I’d get Dean Smith in ASAP and he could build a team (yes a TEAM) for the future playing good football. He is Villa through and through and is a very good manager. Look what he has achieved at Brentford even though all his best players were poached.
PS. I am not a Bruce hater but he is not the way. If he did get us up (big if)
We’d be straight down again!

I can see him chipping in with a few goals if played as he has a decent shot on him

It's fair to say that the Villa Park dressing room resembles my garage at the moment. Lots of stuff taking up space that I bought and either never used or decided wasn't any good. Items that I have kept just on the off-chance they might come in handy one day and others...well just for sentimental reasons. Now I'm thinking of buying some more stuff that some may think is a waste of money before I've got rid of the items I don't really need anymore!
Life's a conundrum don't you think?

It would be a good signing as he has a lot of football experience that could help the squad. I'd get in Joe Hart & Whelan as well, again for their experience. Both could do a job for us next season as it's all about promotion, not how we play (unfortunately) but getting results and being consistent. The club really has to go up next season and their contribution could be key...probably won't happen though

You come across clearings in the woods like this all the time in life...would have been interesting if he beat them all up then sat down as if nothing had happened...how would people have felt about that considering they were in the guise of Villa fans?
They are just immature and don't think there are consequences for their actions (I blame the schools), still that will change soon if they don't when they get a good kicking....anyway time to get off my soap
box now as I need to find my toothbrush

We're not good enough or ready to go up yet imo. We'd only end up being the whipping boys for the media darlings. Much better to go up as a strong unit with lots of confidence. Hopefully this will happen next season

With the players and resources we've got it's got to be automatic promotion and no excuses next season

The club has been in disarray for far too long and what it needs at the moment is a steady hand(s) to stabilse and guide the club and football team through a very tricky and key time in the clubs history. As regards the football team I believe that Steve Bruce is that steady hand. He may not play the exciting and entertaining football we all want to see but he will build a team and an ethos of how if anything professional footballers should behave. Be it on the field or off it.
So unless we suddenly start to lose more or less every game whilst playing sh@t (sounds familiar), then I don't think he is going anywhere for the forseeable future.

We didn't have a proper midfield all season and now we've bought 2 of the best midfielders in the championship. He's not my favorite player but stick Jedinak in front of the back four when he's fit and let the other 2 play their game. That's what we bought them for. You'll see a different side then and many will wonder if the playoffs are still possible...they're not!
Bruce was never my first choice but it would be barmy to sack him now after he's just brought a load of players in. Build some momentum and stability for the rest of the season, have a proper pre-season then a big push for promotion next season

I reckon Bruce played him for his engine as he is one of our fittest players. Just told him to "get in there and put himself about a bit"

What has happened since the Wolves game? We looked the real deal that night! It’s as though they thought we’d won promotion after that victory
Since then, quite frankly they’ve bottled it imo. We’ve relied too much on flashes of brilliance from different players rather than playing as a team for most of this season
After this season, no matter what, the club should be planning a long term football strategy with Dean Smith as manager. Move quickly before the baggies snap him up
