  1. 32,381 ish...pretty poor especially based on that all ST holders attend" (NOW 33,633?)

As I understand it, it wouldn't change the attendance if every ST holder stayed in the pub - tickets sold are what's counted, not people through the turnstile.

  2. I saw Muse at the Foundry (RIP) near the Alex many moons ago. They were supporting a band called Cay in a free entry gig in the upstairs bar, while Pissing Razors played downstairs. we had to move Matt Bellamy's equipment off the chairs so we could sit down as he'd made a mess.

This doesn't help you at all, but it's a nice recollection. The Foundry was ace, and used to serve us when we were 15.

  3. Just been on the eticketing and worked out what tickets are remaining per block then worked backwards from the ground capacity.

    Remaining tickets:

    Holte – 4365

Trinity – 1677 (Excluding hospitality area)

    North – 1379

Doug – 1298 (Excluding away fans area)

    Total – 8719 Tickets remaining

    Total – 42,000

    Trinity hospitality – 3,000 approx

Doug away fans – 3,000 approx

    Total – 36,000

    Minus – 8719 tickets remaining

    Sold – 27,281

    Assume away fans bring 3,000 – 30,281

    Assume trinity hospitality 2,000 out of 3,000 – 32,281.

Attendance atm - 32,381 ish...pretty poor (especially based on that all ST holders attend)

Or more optimistically.... Swansea only have allocation of 2400, and capacity is 42,600, so only 8,700 seats plus (unknown) corporates from 40,200 left. Sell another 2,000 plus 1,000 walk ups, and only 5,000 short of a sellout. Still poor I know, but sounds a bit better than 31k! I reckon about 36.5k on Saturday.

  4. In that family situation, I'd like to think if I were the the grandparents, I'd let everyone bicker over what they are getting when I'm gone, and quietly write them all out of the will before I snuff it. Leave the house to people like ME who are being nice, and the rest of them get a ton of manure delivered to their drive paid for from the estate.

  5. No. I can be unhappy and have a hard time with depressions, even though I am lucky living in Norway and have wages that are 20 times the average wage in the world and probably 150 times the wages of the lowest paid people in the world.

I can be unhappy with my life, even though I am so lucky that I am in the bracket of 20% of the people that consumate 80% of the goods in the world.

You can also be unhappy, even though your life is a dream for a huge part of the people of the world.

It is just wrong to say that we in the western world can not have problems, even though our lifes are easy.

Just as wrong as it is to say that a footballer with millions in the bank and fans worshipping them can not be unhappy.

And the funny part is that it is a longer way from the poorest in the world to my and your life than it is from our life to the footballers life...

    Well said :!:

  6. No cake?!?!? You had me agreeing with everything until that. The only reason weddings are tolerable are for the possibility of an open bar and the cake. IF we ever have a wedding/expensive party Brumerican will ONLY care about the cake. Since we're already married his only request if we do have it was in fact cake.

Yeah, you might be right about the cake. There probably should be a cake. But sod paying £300 for a 'wedding' cake. I'm sur ethe rpices of things quadruple when you mention the 'W' word. Some Sara Lee gateaus will do :)

True, I would hate that too. But that's not really your day, that'd be a forced idea of a crap photographer. I shoot weddings and I'm not into that either. But I get emails every week from brides who went with friends or a cheap option trying to find a way to claw something back from their photography. You get what you pay for. 99% of the time a friend of the family just won't do it. And it's not fair to put pressure on them. It's a hardcore job if done properly.

Yeah I can appreciate that a good photographer is worth their weight in gold if they do the job properly, especially if it's a grand day with lots of dressing up and lovely moments. Our wedding is gonna be more of a pie, booze and pissed-up-dancing-to-reggae affair though, so probably could do without that many photos afterwards!

The samosas are a grand idea :D

Samosas are ALWAYS a good idea!

  7. I'm getting married in about 18 months, and it's looking like coming in at about £1,200.

Register office, couple of hours at the pub, pie for everyone, then booking a gig venue type place for £400 for the evening. Laptop full of music, a buffet (pizzas and Indian starters), and a couple of hundred quid on a dress for the missus. Sorted.

Hoping to clear a profit :)

Flowers die after a day. No point. @Photographers... well got a few mates with decent cameras. Don't really want to spend two hours having stupid pictures of various collections of people standing oddly against a backdrop of a bush. Cake - **** that - samosas!

  8. Well, I received my Riva 510 starter kit and a couple of e-liquids on Saturday while I was at the West Ham game. Charged and built it Sunday morning, and gave it a try. Haven't had a fag since. Wasn't actually intending to give up straight away, and have about 30 cigarettes sitting on my shelf, but I no longer particularly want them. Now on day two, no cravings, no moods, and happily vaping away on my new bit of kit. Ace.

  9. I thought he played well - my MOTM from Saturday. Maybe not for his ability on the ball, as he had a bit of an off day, but he was the only player showing for the ball and showing any sort of width. You can't expect a youngster who has just jumped two division to, in his first game, defend well as well as be the only wide attacking outlet. He was let down by the four central midfielders who all seemed to want to share the same square foot of pitch on Saturday.

  10. It is a huge worry. The clubs that go down this year could never be a proper Premiership club again. You can do alot with 300m. Invest your initial 300m for stay up again and then you'll be making hundreds of millions each year. For that sort of money there are plenty of Championship clubs who could put themselves right about us. For **** sake, Birmingham could come up and get 300m (or more!) straight away. It's a completely **** up situation that will see gigantic rewards for basically being in the right place at the right time. The team to come up this year will get hundreds of millions, the team that goes down will get almost nothing but a few parachute payments.

No one's getting £300m a year. The £4bn deal is over a number of years, so it'll equate to about an extra £20m per team per season in the Premier League I believe.

    And £300m x 20 would be £6bn anyway

  11. Heard this on a train on the way back from Forest and it made me chuckle:

Ten dalmatians walking down the street,

Ten dalmatians walking down the street,

And is Carson Yeung should accidentally eat,

There'll be nine dalmatians walking down the street.

Nine dalmatians walking down the street,

And if Carson Yeung should accidentally eat,

There'll be eight dalmatians walking down the street... etc.

Think I just liked the imagery of accidentally eating a dalmatian.
