palace could lose all 3 of their frontline in the summer, will make me laugh a bit

They probably will but eze and olise are better than anything we have in our squad. Mateta had a few decent games but don’t think that much to him. Anybody in the transfer thread when the rumours about olise came out and said they wouldn’t take him need their heads looking at. Oil would get to 20 goals being fed by olise

Norwich had it in their own hands to avoid playing Leeds over 2 legs but decided they’d rather capitulate to the useless spunktrumpets down the road. Those tactics are not looking too clever now.

I agree completely. This is normal form for Wagner to toss off the last game of the season then fall apart in the play offs. As rubbish as I think Leeds are they are giving Norwich what they deserve after the SHA game

  3. Just looking at the new format am I right in thinking our first game in Europe won’t be until mid/end of September? If so that’s a much better situation than playing conference league games against hibs in July or maybe august. The players hopefully will play far less games and fingers crossed less injuries

You know Howe didn't win it either, right? It almost always just goes to the manager of the team who wins the league

I think Emery might be in with a shot assuming Man City win the title, if Arsenal do I reckon Arteta gets it

The thing with Howe and Newcastle is I think they were given a lot more respect than we have been given for what is two pretty similar journeys just a year apart. I remember there being loads more on sky about Newcastle fighting the top 4 teams and giving it a real go but with us it seems to have almost gone under the radar because it was so inevitable that these “amazing” Utd and spurs sides will catch us and we will have had a fantastic season coming 6th. Now we are in the top 4 it hardly seems to have been mentioned probably because of City but still it’s an incredible achievement since Emery came in more so in my view than Howe at Newcastle which was a big achievement in its own right but Emery has done all of this with a lot of the same players that had us 17th in October 2022

Spurs fans singing anti-Arsenal songs. Absolute muppets, should be ashamed of themselves

They really are pathetic these spurs fans tossing off the chance to play champions league football just to stop their local rivals from winning the league. For me Villa is the only thing that matters I couldn’t give a shit about other teams so no way would I be hoping for us to lose against anyone

  6. Just for perspective we were 17th place on 9 points when the fraud Steven gerrard was sacked and Emery joined us. Fast forward a year and a half we are on the verge of getting 4th. Incredible achievement

Someone will buy the debt for pennies in the pound, or potentially Everton could negotiate a pennies in the pound settlement to the administrators/liquidators (if they have the money to do so).

I would have thought administration is almost inevitable now and any of the good players (I can only thing of the young centre half) will be sold off as quick as possible to pay off at least some of this crazy debt they have racked up before someone can buy them on the cheap. Also begs the question if someone buys them out of administration they could end up with a bunch just as bad or maybe worse than this 777 shambles

Sooner than that hopefully.. October/ November was the original estimate whrh back to first team duty

Not being a medical man can you have different levels of ACL injury. Buendia and mings are missing the whole season as others have mentioned timber is missing the whole season so it feels unlikely he would be back by November if his injury is as bad as those others

  9. Massive miss yesterday. Lenglet was all over the place and playing him and Olsen in the same game is a massive no. Hopefully pau plays Sunday and Thursday because he was the calm head we needed at the back today

Baena, Nico Williams, Lenglet, Joao Felix, Ferran Torres, yes please.

This would compensate for Carlos and JJ leaving, and we’d look much stronger for it.

Not sure I like ferran Torres plus he would be in Barca crazy wages but joao Felix would be a 1000% no for me. Not improving us enough to mitigate that in my opinion he is to lightweight, has a  poor attitude and will be very expensive.

  11. I see Paul Parker thinks Man Utd should go all in to sign Watkins in the summer. Does he think this is a Dwight Yorke 1998 situation. They are not the draw they think they are at the moment despite being Man Utd. I see no way Watkins would want to go to that basket case shambles club.

Confirming safety with three games to spare is certainly an achievement considering they had a very poor start (4 points from their first 7 games) and then lost an extra eight shortly afterwards.

It is a good achievement but they are an incredibly bad team so I think as much as anything it shows how poor the bottom of the league has been this year

Just for reference from Deloitte if it's been a while since posted. Villa are just below the lowest on here. It is dramatic how matchday revenues offer so few opportunities to bring in new money. Commercial revs are obviously the pot of gold.

Interesting to see that Marseille and Frankfurt are both on this list. Neither clubs are ones that jump out at me as big revenue generators but clearly I’m wrong. Would be nice to know what drives that, I’m guessing European football

So I seem to have ended up with 2 tickets with restricted view and 2 tickets with “restricted legroom”.  How bad are these tickets in block B6 in Lower Trinity corner going to be?

I often end up with k1 upper holte restricted view and you can’t actually see the far corner flag area and a strip of the wing on the witton lane stand side

So similar to Lille, the Greek League has pushed back the end of their season by a week and so allowed Olympiacos a week between both legs with no game in between.

We beat Lille even with them getting a week off. Sometimes I’m not sure it’s as much of an advantage in reality as it looks on paper especially with the way we play

VP simply needs a travelator from the city centre

A tram extension would do. Having watched baseball in San Francisco and Chicago both places had metro stations outside the ground and had multiple trains lined up for the end of the game to get people back to the main city areas
