  1. Football phone ins in particular, radio WM. The thing that yanks my chain is some of the regular callers believe that they are some sort of minor celebrity. This includes some of our own fans too although the prime clearing in the woods is a bloke called Eddie who bangs on about us (like many of them do - obsession is an ugly trait) being a smaller club than his beloved ollbeeyun. I just can't take him seriously especially when he sounds like he's been permanently kicked in the groin.....and that's when I can understand him. Ay it ?

I've never got the dislike for the guy.  He speaks pretty honestly about us and is pretty accurate with his rumours, too.

As it was national, man ure loving radio I thought he could've done more to raise our profile or at least football in the Midlands.

God knows it needs it !

  3. I am already sick to death of the pogba w*nkfest but what I saw last night made me barf my dinner up.

Sky sports (yeah, l know !) went pitch side to Kammy who excitedly  confirmed that pogba and fellaini were "passing to each other in the warm up" proving their link up to be something to watch (or words to that effect ).

    Jesus H Christ......

  4. Stefan, I agree with you on this 100%. If I was the caller then I'd only get wound up if you HAD started quoting from a script, not fixing my self-created problem (he knows he had enough prompts to change the password for many days but didn't bother )......the classic quote would be "Is there anything else I can help you with ?" delivered in a smug style :D

The geezer didn't listen to you or thought that the rules he set up don't actually apply to him.

Worst thing about this, he's a bloody Service Delivery Manager.

They're the best ones. Them and the 3rd/4th level programmers and project managers who are educated out of their collective arses but have zero people skills.

The SDM tyes are the one who bloody brought in these types of procedures for you to follow in the first place !

    Words truly removed

IF he does join Rangers, there is absolutely no chance that his wages will be covered. At the very most, £15-20K could be paid but Villa would have to cover the rest, I am sure of that (of course this is solely based on the thought that Lescott is refusing to take a significant wage drop).

Fair point. I was really hinting at the general symbolism of wasted wages being properly used as opposed to knowing the financial specifics of any deal involving lescott and his next club :D

Over-sensitivity. Sexism is a real thing but when people feel the need to moan about every little thing, the message gets diluted.

I swear to God some folk wake up in the morning just waiting to be offended.

Perhaps Kenny is simply a very hungry bloke and that's all there is to it ?

  8. I wonder if this is the reason I don't go any more. I used to be wary of away fans being hostile but on more than one occasion I've left a home pub before kick off or had to bite my lip sitting in my seat in case I blurt out my frustration at a player's miscontrol or poor choice, only to have some hero square up to me as if I'd just called his missus a swamp moose.

A symptom of society today I guess but it's still stops me from going. I mean, we all get wrapped up in the emotions of a game and shout out various comments/insults...as long as it isn't racist/homophobic etc., I think it's just a quick release of annoyance.

I just don't want to looking over my shoulder for the incoming slap just because Westwood delivered another pee poor corner

With all due respect your absolutely kidding yourself if you believe he could have become a villa/ England hero- the guy without question in my opinion is one of the least talented footballers to pull on our great shirt.

one asset and that was an ability  to run in a straight line very fast- again in my humble opinion

Pretty much this, really. I've always thought of him as a sprinter who "plays" football. I don't accept this local lad/he scores against sha legendary status. Not for 60k a week.

It's all been said on this thread about him really. He won't be on the after dinner speakers' circuit and he won't be a TV pundit after he retires. Perhaps the money will run out and he'll regret being a lazy bastard; perhaps not.

    I just want him gone.

I guess I work in what you would call a call centre. But it's tech support for internal employees. We have crazy high rates of calls answered within 30 seconds (around 95% IIRC), people aren't waiting on hold and we fix over 60% things within 5 minutes.

It's a stereotype that they're awful. They're not all bad.

Me too and you're right. Without going into too much detail, a lot of our dedicated IT support staff were made redundant last year and their jobs took over by two big 3rd party suppliers. I, along with a few others, remained in situ but the 3rd parties simply see us as another account and have no or little appreciation of impact on our business if our systems crash.

It's all about money of course and the bloke I'm trying to explain for the fifth time about the urgency of a problem reported to them is probably 3 times as technically qualified as me but is on a quarter of my salary.

    Scary times indeed.

  11. With ref to possible man ure castoffs...not totally on topic but that particular subject p1sses me off when all the glory hunting brummie reds tell me in particularly patronising tone that they will graciously allow us to have their castoffs.......like they've ever even been to manchestuh.....or would even recognise paddy mcnair even if he punched them in the face.

    Anyway.......back on topic please ;)

  12. Indian call centres.

In my case it's BT. I have had a landline fault since 10th July. Openreach engineer came monday & fixed it for 10 mins now it's gone again. I switched to sky wef last Tue morning but of course, until the landline is repaired then I'm without broadband and the ability to make/receive calls.

My point is that the staff at these call centres don't think for themselves and stick to a script pretty much. Any question I raise that's even slightly off topic but still related to the original fault they just repeat themselves or say "hello"/"ok" or ask if there's anything else that they can help me with

As a result, my blood pressure is now through the roof. The angrier I was the more robotic he was and just didn't listen to my point.

I simply dread calling these call centres now. You just know it's gonna be hassle.
