  1. If you read carefully what i wrote, 'he didn't settle', that translates into 'wanted to go back to Scotland', they remember him for the final yes, but he is no hero,

back in yer cage I was agreeing with you on that point
  2. Been watching Dortmund since i moved here in 87', i remember seeing Lambert play, he was ok, but didn't settle and was described as distant and moody by fellow players, mmm, that hasn't changed.

MOTM marking Zidane in the CL final. Had a good season but wanted to come back to Scotland, He's thought of highly there

  3. If it is simply because he doesn't want to answer questions then he is a coward. Never thought I'd say that about Scotland's last world class player. Hope it's something else

  4. **** it.

I thought we played some magnificent football today. Lambert got us set up absolutely spot on, we were quick out of the gates and we shell shocked West Brom into submission. Such was our dominance I was almost, almost, confident of victory.

We defended in numbers, looked organised and resolute and we attacked with a pace and guile I've not seen for a long time. Very enjoyable.

West Brom though, they're a good side. They picked themselves up at half time and the strike from Brunt allowed them to take a strangle hold of the game, always the way when you're the home side sniffing a come back. Especially when you're also clearly the better side on paper.

That said but for a couple of injuries that forced our hand I thought we held together well. Gutting of course, again. I'd love a bit of luck to bounce our way. But I can't find much fault with the performance.

I think our form is turning. Roll on Tuesday.

i agree, thought we played some tidy, even exciting stuff. Much better than at anfield, tide's turning I feel. Signings are still needed though
  5. Would love to see the player sign for us and with players coming to the end of their contracts at the end of the season and the increase in TV revenue hopefully Lerner can be persuaded?

It also might attract other players to the club?

    Show some more ambition Lerner.

One can hope my friend. . . one can hope
  6. Surely a balance is the best way to go.

We don't want a team full of young potential and we don't want a team full of 30 year olds on big money.

But a few lescott types, with a few westwood types and a couple of Bentekes would make me happy.

Exactly, blooding in the youngsters is great for experience and with a couple of older heads to guide them through it it only helps their experience. Nothing but unproven players is pretty much asking for trouble, that said with a bit of balance within the team I love what Lambert is going for. Not as short sighted as many managers at the minute so when English football implodes on itself (and it will) we will be one of the few teams who haven't spent ourselves into the ground with no youth to fall back on

  7. She's from Bothwell, so the Glasgae in her only comes out when she's in the mood. Plastic.

christ, nothing worse than a loud west coast accent. East coast represent!.....I'm that cool

  8. The missus is Scottish, I feel I've earned the right to have the odd jab. The best part about being with a bonnie wee lass is that when she's genuinely angry and she shouts, I have no **** idea what she's saying. So it's very hard to put my foot in it.

That's just how we talk. We're all boozed up or smacked out. Have you never seen trainspotting?

  9. Don't worry about it. Judging by your signature you're what, 28? I'm sure you've been out before on New Years Eve. It's just the same as any other.

Buy yourself something nice with the money you've saved. Like a Barry Bannan t-shirt or an Andy Murray beach towel....

aye, don't really bother about new year but never nice letting friends down. Think I'll pass though, seeing as that's a jab at me being scottish I'll play along and say I don't like to part with my money at all

  10. Are we the saddest men on earth? Talking about Barry Bannan at five to midnight on New Years Eve?

    Ah well.

I forgot there were no buses tonight so my plans all went south......so here I am depressing myself
