Maybe he’s not leaving and its all paper talk. Have there been any trusted links at all or just the usual twitter gossip?

This is the way forward with the youngsters who are not quiet there yet or possibly will never reach the level needed for us.
Win win for us.

I've a feeling we might see Dendonker play RB. He's played plenty of games in PL as part of a back 3 on the right. He didn't get games in preseason so we don't know where he might be used especially now Mings is injured
Dendoncker as right back would be a disaster. He takes about 6 hours to turn around on the pitch. It would be a human rights violation against him to put him one on one against Premier League wingers.

I hope you're not in charge of people's appraisals where you work! He's been just fine for us. Not the greatest player we've ever had, but by no means a bad player. Last season was a decent showing for us under Emery! A few important goals too. As to his wages, not that anyone here ACTUALLY knows what he earns, that's more the clubs fault than his for agreeing to them. If he ends up staying, he will be a solid part of the squad.
The loudest noises here and on the internet are often both arrogant and extreme. He was a Gerrard signing and therefore he’s horrible and fleeced us. When in fact he accepted a contract and has been decent. Yes he’s on way too high wages but he’s not the devil.
It’s hard to have a debate here when everything gets so polarised.

I think he’s gonna be an excellent signing. His age doesn’t bother me - we want success now, not just in 5 years time.

A loss would have been understandable and even nearly acceptable with a performance. Newcastle are excellent.
5-1 and what ever that was is not.
Cash as a right back is not good enough for where we want to be. Bailey as well. We’ve lost Buendia for the season and Mings probably as well. Tough to take and we need at least 2-3 more signings.

Ah to be a Villa fan. We’ve never been as optimistic and then we get this thrown in our faces. Humiliating.

Dreadful. We just don’t perform on opening day do we?

We’ve been poor but Diaby is some player!

One off Cash and Digne will see red.

That Mings injury has me deflated. Be happy with a better performance in the second half, delighted with a draw.

Our right side his terrible today, we need to change something there. Could begin with switching McGinn and Bailey. Don’t think this is a match for an unproven JPB. Possibly Tielemans on but then we’re really playing with four players that are central midfielders by trade.

Their goal was nowhere near offside lol
Never offside but there was a clear foul on Cash before the pass to Isak.

I think that must be up there for the worst half under Emery.
Absolutely. Don’t remember anything as bad under him. Surprised if there are no changes at HT given how proactive he is.

At least it’s still just one goal. Unai can still work his magic.
