He’s decent going forward at times but his lack of defensive IQ makes him a liability. Not the first time he’s made that mistake with the line.
Not our biggest problem tonight but I’d be surprised if he plays more than a minor role next season if he’s still here. We have to improve and some players will be sacrificed for that.

I’ve defended Olsen recently against some honestly over the top, stupid “criticism” but the truth is our defence with him is a shambles. The confidence just goes away and you can feel it.
On top of that we weren’t helped by a completely out of form and worryingly poor Douglas Luiz performance. He was poor even before his suspension and it just continues.
Cash for all his effort is just a poor defender. Most of the time we get away with that by at least having the left back being decent but Digne was dreadful tonight. In fact our whole back six was out of sorts and that’s not just because of Olsen.
Still 90 minutes to play, hopefully with Emi in goal and we’ll book another flight to Greece this month.

To be fair it was amazing what Gerrard managed to do with that squad.

Whats impressed me most this season is that we’ve been able to go to the semi final of a European competition, with all the extra games that takes AND still been able to really compete in the the league. That’s not something to take lightly, many teams really falter in the league when back in Europe after a long time.
Bodes extremely well for next season.

He’s 20. Obviously not ready and he might never make it at this level but maybe a bit premature to write him completely off?
Not every 20 year old fits in straight away with one of the best teams in the country.

First season with the team, think he's been decent. Started well but faded.
He didn't really hit his stride with Leverkusen until his third season really. Next season is big for him.
No chance he's going in the summer IMO. Can't write him off, 100% confident Unai wont.

In our hands. Unai will complete this

Get in as they say

Groin injury. Probably out for the season sadly I’d think

Shocker of a second half but still a very important point. Madueke is a horrible little f*cker
An absolute word removed. Horrible little rat.

Got away with that.
That point will get us fourth.

Be delighted with a draw now. Worst half from us in a long long time.

Luiz shouldn’t have been out straight in again, been poor in the last few months.

Lovely to see the support for Olsen here in our chase for fourth…
Lets get behind him.

Funny game. Our midfield has been poor, been allowing Chelsea too much time on the ball.
That Tielemans injury really messed up our whole set up.
What a player we have in Rogers!

I echo the sentiment of everyone else here. But would also add that he is an absolute gentleman on the pitch.
A great character I agree, a big reason he his where he is.

He needed that goal, will do his confidence a world of good for the final run in.

Genuinely unbelievable season he’s having. Should be favourite for player of the year with the season he’s having. Just writing that sentence is insane.
-
If he was 27 he would have been an excellent signing. He’s 21 and playing his first (half) season the Premier League. He’s gonna be a monster in the next few seasons.

This is what it’s all about. Poor performance but who cares in the end? We’ll have many nights like this in coming years.
Emery is king in Europe, voodoo magician.
Martinez is a cheat code in pens.
I was screaming for him to take Cash off before he scored. Good penalty as well, sorry Cashy!

Up there with the worst reffed games I’ve ever seen

He’s the most baffling football player I’ve seen. He has really good technique but somehow he seems so clumsy and awkward at times. A really different output to have compared to Bailey and Diaby.
Brilliant today, great to have someone that can hold up the ball other than Watkins.

I don’t think Tim is anywhere near ready. He was really poor against City and even struggled last night when he came on.
Big future ahead of him, but right now he’s miles off it
Nah he’s not ready to be a starter I agree. Thought he was decent against a tough city midfiel though.

Our defensive play has been getting worse and worse. We seem to always have a mistake in us to give goals away. Not only in open play which is maybe more understandable given the loss of Kamara and us not really having a like for like substitute but also set pieces.
No Luiz, big step up for Tim who I think did well against City.
Don’t see us getting anything here as things stand.

I agree that he’s not good enough and you can see that the defence is shaky with him. Unai made his choice with him this season which was a mistake.
But pathetic seeing some of the abuse he gets here. Some real tough keyboard warriors on here
