  1. You do know what qualified means? Sorry, I'm not qualified to answer that.
  2. It can only get you so far but they cant be underestimated. Plenty of managers have taken over sides and with minimum turnover of players have caused a drastic positive or negative effect on the results, Just look at United and Palace for examples from this year. What else can this be contributed to if not the tactics and play-style the manager employs. The players have shown a few times that they are capable of playing good stuff, I think it needs to go down as Lambert's failing that he could not achieve any kind of consistency.
  3. We need to be qualified now to say whether tactics are good or bad? Surely its painfully obvious by our dire performances but what do I know he could be a tactical mastermind.
  4. How this man is still in a job is beyond me, complete apathy from the ground up.
  5. How has this clown still got a job, completely out of his depth, need to get rid now.
  6. No. In the words of Dr Spock: "Illogical Captain!" Yet this logic was the foundation of your point. Interesting.
  7. The notion that the criticisms of Lambert and/or his tactics is any less valid because those making them don't have coaching qualifications is completely ridiculous and I can't believe so many seemingly endorsed it. By that logic the opinions of film and food critics who have neither produced films or been a chef are irrelevant and unjustified too, yes?
  8. I agree the MON stuff is boring..but given the lack of poll I'm not sure how you can conclude "most" want him out. The polls on two other forums seem to strongly suggest it, so not too wild an assumption.
  9. Will always have a soft spot for O'neil tbh just for the 07/08 when I had a season ticket, it's the best football I've ever seen us play, the three game run where we scored 15 goals including beating Derby 6-0 and Blues 5-1 my personal highlight.
  10. I'd take that, as long as we didn't look to be in getting into serious trouble before then, would prefer a clean start with the new owners but he has bought well and agree it would be interesting to see who he could pick up with more funds, especially if it's true we were looking at at Holtby etc but couldn't afford. Although I can't see us anywhere near a europa league spot but here's hoping.
  11. Mantis did say it would be difficult not impossible tbf so of course there will be a few examples (Dortmund, Arsenal) but these seem to be the exception rather than the norm and require the right footballing philosophy, a talented manager and a great staff set-up imo.
  12. Yet were they 7 times better? Money isn't everything just look at how much QPR spent on fees and wages and they were shite.
  13. The only stupid argument here is arguing over who done a better job when McLeish took us down 7 places. Hardly that hard to see why there was discontent about the loaning out of bent seeing as he was our record signing and resulted in us having to spunk a substantial proportion of the summer budget on a back-up striker.
  14. At the end of the day Lambert has done nothing, for the most part, to suggest he's the man to take us forward; non-existent play-style, unless you count kick and hope, mind-boggling tactics or lack of and an extremely worrying lack of game awareness when things are screaming out for a change. Coupled with a complete lack of progression from last year, made even more disappointing due to our strong finish last season, even if this can be discounted due to the injuries, which it cannot be completely, the level of regression of our performances from the end of last season is unacceptable. As it goes he is a young manager so of course there is a chance he will improve but he appears way out of his depth and I don't see how even giving him more money is going to make up for his limited ability. All my opinion, of course.
  15. In your opinion. Surely it goes without saying that everything we post is our opinion, shall we all put disclaimers as our signature?
  16. Fair enough, you're right just did a bit of research and it does appear they aren't just going to let clubs brazenly circumvent the rules, although I'll hold off until the verdict is announced on the under investigation clubs, particularly City and PSG as you said, before putting too much faith in the strength of the authority.
  17. I didn't say that's all they have done, just making a point that there will always be ways around it.
  18. Or just sponsor a corner flag for £100 million a year, City have seemed to do alright.
  19. I don't really think that's a good comparison as strikers and managers are vastly different and even then Lambert performed very well with Norwich in the Premier League. Not really, imo of course, they both have a job to do that, when broken down to the simplest form, can be easily measured (league position, goals) and performance in one league doesn't necessarily mean they can perform as well in another, higher quality, league. I'm not trying to downplay his achievements at all and I agree with what your saying about how he did his first season in the prem, doubt many would dispute hence why he was a popular appointment at the time. Although its not unknown for a promoted side to have a first good season as they are an unknown quantity, I just disagree that his performance in lower leagues shows he can do better than he is now in the premier league.
  20. That's like saying a striker who's scored a lot of goals in league 1 and the championship (or any inferior league), then comes to the premiership and flops has shown he could do better. Maybe he found his level and he's just out of his depth now?
  21. I don't see how a new manager isn't going to be tactically inept (its an accusation levelled at Villa manager, Past present , and very possibly future) Preferably by hiring one who isn't.
  22. I don't see how giving him more money is going to make him any less tactically and strategically inept, but I would love to be proved wrong.
  23. Lerner hasn't made his job easy but the clueless performances and tactical displays are down to Lambert not him, throwing money at a manager doesn't turn a bad one into a good one, the money isn't the one setting the play-style and making the subs.
  24. Looks the end of Lerner, Lambert and hopefully the god awful football that's been a result.
