Oh OK.
Anyway....heres an idea - why dont we get Lee Clarke in as coach as Esks understudy. Then, when nobodys looking, we can stick Mcleish in the broomcupboard and hope nobody notices. Then at the end of his contract we remove him from said broomcupboard and 'officially' hand over responsibility to Clarke.
Just a thought

OT but where has the Del Bosque thread gone? I posted in there and now its vanished....was it something i said??

The mans business sense is pretty shite for a billionaire.
Its not his money though, its his dads. He inherited it. Which is probably why he likes pissing it up the wall so much
-
I never loved Houllier. I really don't know where you get this from. As always, putting words into my mouth.
Thats a bit like when you say that the likes of me and CI love Mcleish, when you and i BOTH know that there cant be a single Villa fan on the planet that thinks anything other than hes a pretty shit manager.
Pot. Kettle. Black.

I goyta say i agree with everything Mazrim is saying. What manager in his right mind, who is chasing a potential top 4 finish, goes out and signs Marlon fookin Harewood?! Its just madness. MoN was clueless in the transfer market and the amount he wasted on useless players was just shocking.
I did particularly like this from Mazrims posts...
I've already wasted more time discussing Pubehead than he's worth -
Er no you said who would I want and i said Lambert. Asking me what i see in Mcleish is just stupid because i dont see anything particularly other than a pretty average manager. The only difference between me and you is that i can accept he will be given at least another season. Oh and i stand by what i said, Mcleish is better than Allardyce.
-
Mantis.... Why did you quote those 2 posts of mine but left this one out, which was on the same page:
If i had to pick a new manager it would be Lambert all day long. I wouldnt want any of these big name european coaches beacuse, quite frankly, theyre shite. They are only good at managing clubs with massive chequebooks, they wouldnt last 5 minutes here. Im talking the Ranieri's, Ancelottis, Benitez's of this world. I saw Rijkaards name mentioned the other day. Good grief do me a favour
does that not answer your questions?
-
Im sorry but Mcleish is a better manager than Allardyce, so no.
I bet West Ham finish above us next season ?
You're on

I thought the general opinion here of N'Zogbia is that hes shite?

^What he said^

Petrov as manager??

Why must we get rid of him? I agree that he shouldn't be our main starting midfielder but he can be more than useful as a backup or impact sub
Because hes way past it, is on 50 grand a week and is possibly the worst 'impact sub' imaginable. It would be stupid to keep him here on that basis. My opinion of course.
-
My word. So Ranieri is flavour of the week now?? Hes got sacked at every job hes been in. Id rather have Basil Fawlty managing us.
Oh and another thing...he aint 'free' as some have said, simply because if we wanted to hire him it would cost millions to compensate Mcleish.

He's getting so much grief now because of how he approaches the game and because of the results he's getting. Funny how he never really got any grief up until results and performance started to get dire. Your post doesn't really make any sense.
Sigh. Here goes:
1. How he approaches the game? I take it your going back to the 'negative' waffle?
2. The results hes getting? Even when we win he gets slated, so i dont know what youre talking about there.
3. Never got grief until results started to get dire?? What utter, utter bollocks. He was getting grief the minute he walked through the door.
Talk about my post not making sense? Unbelievable
-
I am telling you I don't care where he is from
I could tell you the same thing. Doesnt make it true though does it?
-
Enough of this "it's because of where he came from" rubbish.
Its not rubbish. Its the truth. And you know it
-
Such is the fickle nature of today's fan, a win at Arsenal and the Holte will be singing his name next home game
the holte end will NEVER sing his name
True. But herein lies the problem. We could play like Barcelona and he would still get grief. Which is why all this 'its not because hes ex bluenose' is a load of bollocks. The 'negative' football thing is just a convenient excuse to lay into him. We havent played good football for fookin donkeys years so i dont see why all of a sudden Eck gets grief. Actually...i do see why, like i said its cuz of the ex bluenose thing.
Probably best for all concerned if he does leave because a section of fans just cant get past his bluenose past. **** all to do with the apparent negative football we play
-
Hes had a single half decent season in his whole career. How old is he now??
-
He will never reach his 'peak' here. He doesnt care enough. I want somebody in who does.
-
All im trying to say is that for a player whos on a reported 80 grand a week id be expecting alot more. Look at Cabaye at Newcastle. Sigurdsson at Swansea. Lots of players who are on less money and are, quite frankly, better players
-
Think about how much we paid in terms of fee and how much wages hes on. To put it into perspective, Spurs picked up Van Der Vaart for the same sort of money. Now think about how those two perform on the pitch.
Nuff said.

every FA course I do advocates a similar set up for grass roots football. We hold Clairefontaine and La Masia up as shining lights but any club can do it (Wigan try, Swansea have) if they develop and stick to the plan.
Like Houllier tried to?
Fabian Delph
in Other Football
Posted
We have put Delph back a few years in the way we blooded him into the team. I mean that in the sense that we didnt do any blooding at all. He was left to rot on the bench for far too long. Other clubs would have been putting him straight in the team, especially after his showings in pre season when he first arrived. Hes got a bit more playing since Ged came here and then Mcleish but the damage had already been done a long time ago.
Its a long way back for Delph. I hope he can do it here but its looking unlikely now
