  1. You can't seem to understand that some managers are better than others. Why is this concept so alien to you?

Err yes i can. Houllier is clearly a better manager than Eck, but he only managed to get the same sort of performance from this squad - plus Ashley Young and Downing might i add - so does it really make a massive difference??

The squad is still shite no matter who is managing them.

Why is this concept so alien to you?

  2. I think his point was not that he shouldnt' bring anyone in, but that even if he didn't he'd get so much more out of our current squad than mcLeish is getting.

    Like Houllier did you mean?

Things dont happen overnight. Lambert would need time and money just like Ged did and just like Eck should.

Unless of course we want a different manager every season...

  3. would love lambert - he wouldnt need to buy anyone - maybe tinker in the transfer market

You having a laugh?? Our whole team needs an overhaul. I agree that the kids are coming along nicely but **** me, the rest of the squad is just poor. If Lambert comes here the first thing he should do is bring Pikington and Holt with him. Im sure both of those players would do great here under him

  4. I voted for Martinez for the poll in the summer and got hammered for it. If i remember correctly, Martinez had a grand total of 2 votes in that poll. Thats right... TWO!

So why is it all of a sudden the vast majority want him now? Whats changed your minds?

Is it because Ancelotti finally got himself a job and now you're back in the real world?

  5. If the rumours are true, if Houllier had stayed last summer we would currently have Yoann Cabaye and Demba Ba playing for us, with Collins, Dunne, Warnock, ansd Ireland playing elsewhere. Add to that the performances we got from Bannan, Albrighton, and Clarke under Houllier.

There is no doubt in my mind that we would have a much better team if Houllier was still here. Building ANYTHING takes time, but buliding a football team can take years.

We as fans needs to be a bit more patient. Any manager needs time to bring his own players in. It doesnt happen overnight

  6. Lerner is achieving a new level of shitness. Buys a club when they achieve their lowest points total in the prem. Spends hundreds of millions only to achieve a similar, if not worse points total, 6 years later.

That's mind blowing levels of shitness right there.

You cant blame Lerner for letting MoN piss his money up the wall. Lerner obviously thought he was doing the right thing, and so did most of the fans.

Hindsight is a wonderfull thing though...

You can, and should blame Lerner. Lots of people were questioning the wisdom of letting O'Neill run riot with the cheque book. an absolute shit signing like Harewood probably cost the club £10m in fee and wages. That should have been a warning sign.

Youre right, signing Harewood should have been a warning sign. But if anything, it just goes to show that Randy doesnt know a jot about football. He relies on other people to make the footballing decisionsa t this club. He trusted MoN to sign the correct players to get us to fourth place (my god how wrong was he there) and now hes relying on Faulkner to make important footballing decisions.

Hes basically put his trust (and his money) into the wrong people.

  8. So if we finish mid table next season after spending say 25 million and still playing negative boring football, this will be seen as a successful season by McLeish and Lerner.

Well yesterday according to you we have 50-60 million to spend in the summer??

  9. Everybody agrees that demonstrating during games is not good for players, so having thought about it, why dont fans protest during the half time interval?

Players are off the pitch and therefore know its not aimed at them, but believe me, you can hear the fans in the dressing room.

yeah because that would really give the players the kick up the arse they so desperately need.

    Not.

  10. We need a big name to control and motivate the players. Its obvious some players think they are bigger than Mcleish, same happened with Houllier. There would be no chance in the world McLeish could control a team like man City or Chelsea for example.

Rodgers or Lambert have quality and I may try but I doubt they could control the likes of Collins, Dunn, Nzog.

There should be no excuses. These players get paid big money and they owe it to the fans to perform. This half arsed attitude shown by some of the seniors is a big part of our problem. They need to be moved on before we can go forward, i dont care who the manager is they need to go

You also have to consider there are a lot of players that would still very much love to play for a team like Aston Villa. Just because McLeish may sign a player typical of him doesn't mean they will be worse. If they arrive and they play with passion and pride especially if they are now playing for a bigger club than they came from, we will be playing better football and winning more games as a result.

Player quality to me isn't set in stone just because they are deemed crap at one club does not mean they will be crap at ours, the same is very much true the other way round just because they are good doesn't mean they will be here.. The best we can hope for is whoever we bring in no matter who they are, is that they perform to their best while here. If they give that then they are already better players than 70% of the players we have.

This is something ive alluded to in the past. Our transfer policy is all wrong. Instead of signing up and coming players who are hungry for success and make a name for themselves we sign over the hill shyte who have no real interest in being here. Havent both Ireland and Warnock said they would rather not be here (or something similar)? Im sure the likes of Collins and maybe even Bent couldnt give a toss either way. This attitude then permeates through the squad and its just counter productive.

I think a big part of Swanseas and Norwichs' success is down to their players wanting it more. Who would have wanted us to sign nathan dyer at the start of the season? You would have been laughed off these message boards if you did, such is the small mindedness of some people. I rate Snodgrass at leeds, think he would be a great addition. But i got pelters on here when i suggested it. No doubt in my mind that he will play in he prem one day and be a good player
