Surely Ireland will get more game time as a result, win/win imo

Is it a case of a player not suited to the McLeish way or a player who has not performed no matter who the manager was/is?

I felt a bit sorry for him today, there were times when he found space and never got the the ball when he was clearly in threatening positions. You could sense his frustration. Ireland thrives when we get it down and pass it, that wasn't happening much today. I do hope he starts again, hopefully at wigan.

The fact that he was given a 5 yr contract AND knowing how prone he is to injury is the thing that rally surpised me, not really the age thing imo. It does speak volumes when other fans are congratulating us on a signing, makes a change I suppose (not that I care what they think anyway)

I hope and pray that this McLeish shit is just a media cover for who we really are looking for. If McLeish is appointed, I will get behind him; i feel he wont be given much of a chance and therefore it is more important to hire someone most supporters prefer. Don't get me wrong, it disgusts me to see McLeish being appointed, but I think we should get behind him if he is, but he MUST be given less time than anyone else due to his origins imo. Jan 2012 imo.
