Frustrating loss in the end. Played well for twenty second half minutes after an even first half but then shot ourselves in the foot several times. The Norwich penalty was very soft also.
Anyway... some positives: Wilson will have a good career as long as he fills out a bit. He has an instinct in and around the box that no one else does and he found space on a number of occasions. Kadan Young (Motm) has one main trick which is to go on the ouside with his pace but Norwich still couldn't stop him because of his acceleration and balance. It was a bit like Aaron Lennon when he was in his pomp.
Kadan is going to have to develop his game i think to stand a chance. As you say its one trick. Jimoh was poor tonight but he has everything in his locker. The 2 i rate the highest though are Rowe and Borland. Rowe has everything to be a fullback. Borland will only fail if he doesnt get any bigger. He is so so tidy with the ball . Makes it look easy but in reality its so hard to pick the right pass nearly every single time at 16 years old . He does. He is a tough cookie that i think would be doing even better if we had a big midfielder next to him. Alcock is technically good but playing 2 x 5'7 midfielders just isnt sustainable..

From Michael Beale on, how many managers have QPR appointed?
This is their 3rd permanent since Beale i think. Gerrards other mate , then the rocker and now this bloke. To be fair this one has managed to steady a quickly sinking ship. Their record at home for an age was indescribably siht.

They are spending around £10 mill on compensation for him. Emery was a bargain.

We looked like a real team a couple of months ago. But despite the core of the team remaining the same we seem to have regressed back to being somewhat disjointed all over and very porous at the back. The talent is there ,but its not gelling when they play together. Some terrible defending this evening and some wasteful play in attacking positions. Maybe we are missing OReilly and Kellyman as the conduit between midfield and attack
-
Him and Tyrone turned 31 last month. Digne and Moreno will turn 31 in the summer. I like Diego alot but we cannot afford literally and figuratively for players to regress all at once and lose a half yard of pace. If we could sell Diego and bring in someone like Ronnie Edwards from Peterboro who is already battlehardened from 150 appearances and still only 21 then that might be a way to go.
That said. Playing cb for us can be energy conserving . Maybe i will leave it up to Unai and keep my gob shut

One word of warning about Olise. My god he is technically gifted but i don't think he is the bravest..i remember him playing up against JJ and JJ absolutely dominating him. By the end of the game he didnt want to know and seemed to have gone into himself .

A.matchwinner as much as Ollie
Saves are the equivalent of shots on target BUT goals prevented is the equivalent of goals being scored.
Its the most relevant stat out there for me, and if you are backing it up with commanding your box and commanding the space behind your teams high line then surely it means you are the best at what you are asked to do. You then add in most time on the ball in the whole of the Prem which allows Villa to conserve energy . The greatest.

To swap attention to Nassef his wealth has gone up by 410 million dollars in the last 9 days ! Largely due to his Adidas shares going up strongly.

I think they could be on the pitch together and wreak havoc if I'm honest, they are slightly different.
I also think some people have forgotten how good JJ is at his best, due to his prolonged absence and lack of being able to get there this season.
Doesn't always have to be either/or.
Worst case, we have two very good players who are strong, quick and athletic.
You could at times play Morgan at 10 and then JJ / Buendia and Diaby/ Bailey either side of him with Ollie / Jhon up front.
Or in a 433 JJ left mid and Morgan left attack. That would be frightening to be fair as they could easily swap positions .

I never got the de zerbi hype. I don’t know what he’s done that potter didn’t before
Over Emerys tenure he has 30 points less than Villa. Block the central passing lanes and they are not effective. And he is one of those divs that do not bend from their philosophy whatever that is. Ask Emery what his philosophy is and i think it would be simple. To win no matter what.

Nice write up on him from sky
The signing of the January window? How Morgan Rogers hit the ground running at Aston Villa to propel their top-four push, with exclusive insight from Michael Appleton, the man who gave the 21-year-old attacking player his Football League debut…
Nice. I love the bit where Appleton says that he had a small side and didnt know how to mark the oppo effectively and Rogers said ' put me on the biggest player and i will do the job ' . He was 18 years old then. Bodes well . As he isnt just big. He is also strong for his size and knows how to use it.

He never uses the word deserve that so many coaches do these days. Not interested in xG. He knows that the team that wins deserves it. Its key for us for the no excuses culture. For other coaches like Poch it just gives an excuse to kick the can down the road. That ' things will get better' .

I hope we go at them hard like Everton did. Rattled them . Cannot let them play their footbball.

Palace 2-0 up. Could really do with them shaking off this little good spell before we have to play them.
They have murdered Newcastle. Played them off the park.

We have nothing to fear from Liverpool next season. The manager will be downgraded, Salah getting well past his best, and Emery will have another summer in the transfer market. Things are looking good for us!
Salah is 32 next month. Nunez not improving. Jota always injured. Diaz not as good as he was before the injury and Gakpo seems like their version of Nicholas Pepe. I hope the Saudi league pull their interest.

Klopp's biggest mistake was the timing of his departure announcement, they haven't looked the same since. Never understood why he made it when he did, and the team haven't been able to handle the pressure since. All on Klopp.
It was about to be leaked. He kept it quiet for a few months and then somehow got out . And yes, thats where the problem started. Alright when everything is going right. But when it doesnt it falls apart quickly. . Manure and Liverpool have managers that will be changing. Kiss of death for consistency.

He doesn't aim, he just tries to hit everything as hard as possible, even headers.
He is like a less composed version of Jhon Duran.actually scrap that. He is Duran when we bought him last year. Shoot on sight.

I will say, he will be a full England player , at some point.
As much as his play is really impressive its the attitude that gets me. When he scored he was signalling back to Bailey ro say great ball and then when he put Ollie in behind to cross for rhe second he was clapping Digne. Plus he touched the Villa crest when he walked in at half time. Love that. He never celebrated his goal much either. I think in his head 1 all is not good enough and not worth celebrating. THE right attitude not A right attitude on him.
