I don't read because I once read a book that made me physically sick. Ever since then I havn't been able to read again. I find people who read are generally very aloof and most of them are probably upper-class or landed gentry. The only time you will catch me read nowadays is to read about something bad that has happened to someone who reads.

To emphasize my point: My mother sent gave me a book the christmas before last, a Ben Elton book. I didn't want to be rude and tell her - I dont read, what's the point in reading! So I waited until her birthday a few months later in march and I sent it back to her with an inscription: 'Sorry, I don't read, there's no point, but I know you do so hopefully you'll appreciate it, lots of love, xliosive x' She found it sweet and read it and enjoyed it. Each to their own I guess but I certainly don't have that gene, thank god.

NO THANKS! Books are for idiots. What's the point in reading Stephen King's IT if you can watch Stephen King's IT? Why read the Bible if we have 'The life of Brian' and/or 'The passion of the Christ'? What's the point in reading?

It's not a joke but an amusing comment I came across on a martial arts mesage board: "Nahhhh I may be physically strong, but I still have flaws when it comes to fighting. You'll feel my punches though. I had 5 fights last night, and one of them was with a small Japanese girl...and she's very fast, and she told me to use 10% of my power, but she walked right into one of my punches to her liver, and I felt so bad...there is only one girl that I can actually fight with 40% of my power, and she's about 5'10 165LB...very pretty too. They are just showing off their balancing talents I think. You know, sometimes you are at a party and someone suggests that all the old women at the party balance large wooden spoons on their noses. I love those sort of parties.
