  1. Haha it just gets better and better.

The Scottish FA have refused Alex McLeish permission to speak to a "Premier League club".

Wonder what club that is?

    Derby?

Will that be the end of it then? Can't see McLeish walking out on the national job without permission.

  2. Wouldnt it be brilliant if Carson Yeung came out on friday at the Blues deadline for the takeover and told the world he was a Villa fan having a bit of a laugh?

    Waahahahahahaha!!

    This thread is such comedy!

Id love for McClown to get the job at the sty, having already hate the carrot this would just be the most hated club than it already is now!!

...Lemme guess.. there going to make a statment saying they have approched Arsene Wenger next!!

Arsene already turned them down between Lippi and Sir Alex, although apparantly Pele is seriously considering an offer

  3. They want proof this Friday apparently.

I read that but I don't see it matters what they want. When they entered into due dilegance and sold the shares to Yeung that date of Dec 20th (as I understand it) was made so he hasn't got to provide them with anything this Friday.

  4. Wouldnt it be brilliant if Carson Yeung came out on friday at the Blues deadline for the takeover and told the world he was a Villa fan having a bit of a laugh?

It would be fantastic, the stuff of dreams.

Isn't the deadline the 20th December?

  5. Will McLeish be staying on as Scotland manager still ?

If not, I really can't understand his reasoning for this move.

Its down to him, he has a contract to continue depends if he wants to move. Must be tempting to take a job at a club with no history, not much in the way of a future, a relegation fight round the corner and no cash in bank to spend. Not to mention a dodgy takeover and fans so loyal that they can't fill there tiny ground when their illustrious neighbours come to town.

    How could he resist?

  6. This season - about 15 I say. But there's nothing to say he can't be a 20+ goal striker in a season or two.

Little bit more experience, little bit more composure, just make him that little bit more clinical and he can be prolific.

Confidence certainly isn't an issue at the moment, and he needs to keep that confidence high.

His first real big test will be when he slips out of form a bit, which is inevitable, happens with all strikers. If he can keep positive during dry spells and refind form again then he'll be all the wiser for it.

He has the physical attributes to be a striker of real class - but his mental attributes are yet to really be tested.

Not sure about this - he had a bit of a dodgy spell last season and came through it. Perhaps his mental attributes are such that he doesn't get bothered by things like missing chances the way other people do. Whenever Gabby misses a chance he has a look about him that just says "I'll get another one" as with Luke for example drops his head.

    Just a thought.

  7. For almost as long as I can remember the talk has been about Villa needing a 20 goal a season striker. Well seeing as these seem to be rarely than rocking horse shit we have kind of muddled through without one but now we may, just may have one in our midst. Step forward Gabby.

    Now here is my logic. Last season Gabby notched the following;

    League 37 games 9 goals

FA Cup 1 game 0 goals

League Cup 3 games 1 goal

    Yet this season Gabby has the following record;

    League 13 games 6 goals

League Cup 2 games 0 goals

So even if he maintains his current goals to games ratio that would put him at around 18 goals and thats without taking into account the increase in his ratio since moving upfront from playing out wide.

So what do you think, how many goals can Gabby hit this season and could he be our 20 goal man?

  8. What's going on with Bruce and Wigan anyway - any more news?

The conveyer belt of comedy just keeps cranking on at Sty Andrews. Fresh from the attempt to land Lippi (who I don't actually think speaks English) comes the news Blues and Bruce are locked in a battle over money.

And the source of the dispute? Image rights! Yes you read that correct image rights, yes Steve Bruce and image rights!

At first I assumed that Bruce perhaps paid Blues to not put his picture on stuff or even paid them to make him look less repulsive with the aid of photoshop and that he wanted a refund as he was leaving.

But stageringly they pay him image rights which begs the question what do they use his image for Beauty and the Beast Disney **** lunch boxes? The only other thing I could think of was perhaps Hallowen masks.

Either that or they have started selling dolls with his face on in Anne Summers - the mind boggles.....

Steve Bruce and image rights I never thought I'd hear anything as funny in my life

  9. Shearer

Would be very funny, he hates us, most of us Villa fans hate him.

    Perfect appointment.

BUT the thing is, it matters not a jot to me who is appointed as the players are simply not good enough.

Nonsense. Greece won Euro 2004 with an awful team, because they had a manager who got the best out of them, thats all we need.

Well that and all the teams with the good players and good managers to have an off day like they did in Euro 2004.

  10. would be fitting to have mcclown at the circus down at the sty...

    I can see it happening....

Theres a circus in the town in the town

Steve McLaren is a clown is a clown

Karen Brady is (well we all know what she is)

and the Blues are going down

has a nice ring too it

  11. And in today's Mirror, keeping with the tradition of seeking out the best managers in the world, Werewolf is reported to want to buy-out Egg-Foo Yeung and install that renowned international tactical genius ERIC BLACK as manager.

My sides have split, and my cock's fallen off with laughing soo much !!!

You might want to see a doctor about that.

As for Eric Black - he will be off to Wigan soon

  12. Even if McClown hasn't got the honour to walk it seems inevitable with an FA board meeting this morning that he will soon leave his post. So who is next?

None of us want to see MON go (well some might actually) but try and forget Villa for a moment and answer this one. Who do you think is the right man for the job?

    Jose has my vote.
