  1. One of David Moyes, Mark Hughes or Stuart Pearce for me..

Why on earth would Hughes or Moyes leave their current jobs with Blackburn or Everton for the most dangerous job in football.

Moyes has spent years building a squad at Everton and has a job there for years to come while Hughes is destined for bigger things. Both men have way to much to lose to take a risk on Newcastle.

As for Pearce I can't see him leaving the saftey zone of the Under 21's and the FA, not after getting the boot from Man City.

  2. Hi General,

I appriciate that a lot of people have already posted on the subject of the Blackburn game and that you have responded but I have too say I'm still really annoyed at this decision.

While I understand the rational behind the decision I think the club have failed to consider the fans perspective on this and for once under the new regime's ownership we have been let down. I do not think that moving a fixture in this way so close to the game is acceptable even if there are some benefits to the club.

I wanted to ask seeing as this decision was made for footballing reasons does that mean it was made at the request of MON?

I feel really let down by this decision so close to a game and will now be unable to attend the match. I know I could sell my ticket through the seatexchange but frankily I'm not bothered about the money I'm bothered that I bought a season ticket so I could attend every match and now because of this decision I will not be able to do so.

In my opinion whatever the rational behind this decision its a really poor decision.

  3. Well Fat Sam is off into the sun after a glorious 24 game stint at every football fans second favourite team (according to everyone in the media) because he hasn't won the title for them yet.

Which leads to the question: Who is next in the hotest seat in the Premier League? Who will be the 8th boss in 11 years?

Oh you can just imagine it now, managers up and down the country will be rushing to rule themselves out of the job.

So who do you think will be next folks....

My money quite literally is on Martin Jol

  4. I voted for Barry. Even though I think Young gives us more than Barry I think Barry is more important. I think Barry is a bit of a symbol of the club and certainly the player most non Villa fans think off first with Villa because of England.

I think to lose Barry would be a huge huge blow to not only our team but our image and reputation as a progressive club. I also think a lot of the young English players look up to Barry as a bit of a role model and as evidence they can achieve their ambitions with the club of playing for their country.

Losing Barry I think would put into question the Villa Park futures of these players.

  5. Hi General,

Happy New Year. JG beat me too this but I also think this would be a great idea especially for a TV game but please no Sly Stallone scarf holding on the pitch like at Everton.

Also I'm always surprised we haven't made more of Prince William being a Villa fan surely him attending a TV match would be unbelievable publicity for the club.

    Just a thought.

  6. Terry,

I didn't see the program but I have read this thread with great interest and whatever your motives in initially coming on to the site I thank you for taking the time to answer so many questions and for tolerating some of the posts. I have a few questions I would like to ask but I'm unsure if your still posting/visiting the site.

One of my questions would be what is your view of Scientology?

  7. Also watched his interview on SSN ealrier and not a single word of bigging up blooz, all abut how good to be in the PL.

i actually noticed that too. maybe using them as a stepping stone?

This was very odd in the interview. He didnt say anything about Birmingham..only about himself and how he enjoyed being in the PL. It could´ve been any team for him so he clearly grabbed the first chance that came along. Strange one...

strange I agree with you !!!

4 times his scottish salary helped but I sense no desire to manage them like say MO and sounded strangely like DOL and we know what happened :P

I hope they get turned over in his first game on Saturday as I can see both Derby and Wigan picking up results this weekend. If that happens it could notch the pressure up at the Sty.

  8. Hi General,

First things first, thanks for your continued correspondance with us the fans and your patience which must be tested at times.

The team and MON have been brilliant in recent weeks and on Saturday they face a huge test so I think its time for us the fans to step up our efforts. I've noticed at recent games at VP although the atmosphere has been great people don't take their seats until quite late.

But when I think back to the Sheff Utd game at the end of last season because of the celebration there was an amazing atmosphere building way before the players came out.

I appricate you can't recreate that day every home match but I just thought the club may be able to do something to get the fans in their seats a little earlier. I love the thought of the ground full way before kick off so the visiting players can hear the crowd before they even leave the dressing room.

Villa Park is becoming a fortress again, the team have raised their game now its our turn.

  9. I really hope the takeover doesn't fail. Just think how much fun it has been so far and what a mess Yeung has made of it, just think what he could do in full control of the club. It would be comedy central.

As for McLeish. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you can't polish a turd. As for his track record, yes he did well with Rangers but so what? Yes I know we also have a manager who excelled in Scotland but he had also proved himself in the Premier League which is the big difference.

Look at people like Souness (various clubs) and Walter Smith who won trophies galour with Rangers and were failures in the Premier League. IMO success north of the board for managers just like players doesn't mean they will carry their record South with them.

Blues are in a mess from the top all the way down and just to survive this season is going to be a struggle.

  10. I suugest you all take a gander over on the keeprighton forum it is unbeliveable. There is a thread saying what a good job Ellis has done and could he be about to put some of his cash into the Blues as he is a closet bluenose.

You really couldnt make it up

Just been on - what a truelly terrible site
