I don`t dislike Heskey but as a sub he gives us nothing at all. He won`t change a game, he just won`t do it. We either need to start him or not use him. His main plus for England is his workrate and the fact he works the defenders over, he can`t do that if he`s a sub and therefore is no real use.

So he put Heskey on the left and who in the middle? I take it we were playing 4-4-2?

why he didnt just make a like for like swap i dont know, particularly considering we have 2 centre midfielders on the bench (i think)

So that means Ash went to the right? Why move 3 people about when you can change one player. If Carew didn`t play well today he needs to be benched again, he can`t turn up when he fancies it if we have designs for 4th place. We know we are strong with 4-5-1 so he either bucks up or he`s dropped. He`s a good impact sub like he was at Blues.

On a side note did anyone see the chavs outside try to start some trouble. Well at least untill the Cardif lads got a grip of them and they legged it. We warned them they weren`t the sort to wind up.

Played pretty well i agree that Ceullar was top at the back and Delph showed some lovely passes in the second half. He does like a tackle too, he will have to be careful with the diving in though.

Played well today, had a period when they had too much time on the ball in our half but we got it back in the end. A better side may have punished us for that though so we have to be careful.

Pretty pleased we looked solid and kept them to very few chances. We also won which is all that was needed really.

I actually put Young. I know he hasn`t been here long but i think he is marginally better. Thats probably a bit harsh on Delaney as i liked him a lot and he was consistant over a longer period of time. I haven`t seen anything from Young though to suggest he isn`t consistant.

I put James. Fiedel is the next best. Its close though as Friedel doesn`t make the big mistakes James does.

I suppose it's similar to asking who is better Ronaldo or Rooney.

Rooney works harder, but Ronaldo is obviously a lot better technically and is clearly the better player.

It is the same with Ash and Jimmy. Milner's work rate cannot be faulted, but Ash is more exciting to watch and makes things happen, so my vote goes to him for that reason and I imagine the majority will be the same.

Young is the best winger in the league on his day. And in the top 5 when he is having an average time of it.

I agree with this too. Young has more talent but JImmy uses his to the full nearly every game.

Maybe MON tells him to tuck in too as he likes to be compact? At least he`s got the pace to cover thats why Shorey can look so bad.

Rino, I've been diplomatic on here up til now about Beye because he's still new to Villa and he might still improve, but from what I've seen of him, and I've watched him closely, I honestly think we have on our hands possibly the worst rightback since I've supported the club.

Thats a bit strong mate. I haven`t watched his every move but from what i`ve seen so far hes pretty strong in the tackle and he shepards the ball out of play well. What is it that bothers you so much?

Just for the record, in my opinion Gardner is terrible at rb defensively.

I thought all three in the middle played well today, and sorry Bicks i have to disagree. I think NRC helped make the game look comfortable as we kept Fulham out of harms way. If he hadn`t played i think they would have had a bit more joy through the middle against us. It probably is true however that we need someone with a bit more quality to play in there and weigh in with goals especially if we play the better teams.
