Deserved that goal too!

I thought he played really well in the middle yesterday, better than I thought he would do especially considering the opposition

Not this season, they could finish 5th though
They have flashes of quality but are really inconsistent. One good thing for our game is they have to play Arsenal the Tuesday before!

Bournemouth will be missing Sinisterra and Tavarneir, possibly Semenyo (their best player IMO). Good time to play them.
Are they suspended?

It was also really telling how well our squad players performed today- like Zani and Rogers in particular. They played really well against a top side in a hostile environment. Very happy to see given our suspensions and injury issues at the end of the season.
It was also great to see Lenglet and Cash make the bench. Makes me think they will be available for the 1st11 on Thursday for some much needed rotation- let Cash play RB and Konsa back to CB, etc. Just an amazing win by Villa today! UTV
Very good day overall, as you say great to see some options bsck on the bench too! Rogers best game for us and he played a lot more minutes

Unbelievable player at the top of his game!

Our fans really sound like a bunch of losers on this thread. Should be talking about Spurs and us and how we get top 4. Instead we’re talking about who’s going to catch us.
Hopefully fan mentality can change one day.
It will change with sustained success in fairness, it's just been a long time. I'd be more confident if we can get a win against Bournemouth, just nervous as our form has dipped quite a bit recently.

We actually went above Spurs when it was 3-0, not 4-0, so we can afford to lose by one.
Oh small bonus

My worry is how poor our home form has become. 2023 Villa and we'd get 7 points from the next 3 home games and then have good chances against Palace and Brighton. Would be thinking 10 points
In fairness this is true, pre Xmas we'd be very confident of picking up 6+ points but unfortunately that's not how I feel right now.

If you tell me after the match tomorrow we would still be 4th, whatever the result I'd take it.
We went be though, if we lose we drop back below Spurs on GD

Missed the last few games actually, think he must be!

Is that at least 5th? If not then there’s a possibility we can finish 4th, which would lower the probability of us finishing 5th.
Ah that might be the case actually, that might have been the difference.

Just based on expected odds:
We have 39.8% chance of 4th.
We have 53.9% chance of 5th
Currently there is 84.4% chance Prem gets 5 CL spots
85.3% chance of Champions League.
Things look good
Now let's smash Lille to increase it more
Where did these percentages come from, they've dropped a lot in terms of 4th/5th? Appreciated we lost ground but only 54% for 5th?

You can win the first leg and still go out, no?
Yep but then no further chance to gain points. In theory you could go through and lose the next two legs and pick up no points!

Arsenal have been shocking. Really really bad. They're playing like we have a few times Vs low blocks.
They started well on fairness, the occasion is getting to them now. Need to calm down.

This has probably been discussed here already - apologies - but is it games won or two leg matches one that counts here? If arsenal win both legs is it two wins or just one?
For the coefficient you get points for a win and draw for each game then bonus points for progression.
Really poor from arsenal but they are more than capable of beating this Bayern team away from home.

People are remembering this is over two legs right?!
The bonus is Bayern look shite.

You have to give them some credit for somehow consistently defying all of the underlying metrics used to measure performance. I don't know how they do it apart from maybe the quality of a handful of players to produce the sublime. They definitely only play I'm small bursts though.

Much better than Moreno at the moment, right decision from Unai to swap then out.
