He was so so so so so bad.
I appreciate the late season flourish of course, but, jesus, he was awful.

He's banned for first leg.

On a sort of related note Ollies pen was probably the best of the night. I know he slipped but dunno why he doesn't just take then for us.
Because he's generally but god **** awful at them. Today was a very welcome surprise.

Never in doubt.

The plan will be to conserve energy. Emery often does this. I would expect running and purpose to increase now as the game runs on.

2-2. Villa score first two. They put us through the ringer.
And on we march.

Completely different to last season. They have never been in the driving seat this season so there's nothing to bottle.
This season they've just lost it, assuming Man City don't slip from here.
This. Someone has to come 2nd. Doesn't mean they bottled it, just that came 2nd.

He’s the best we’ve had since Ron Saunders. Please God Barcelona don’t come calling.
He wouldn't leave if they did.

That's a really good point - Arsenal and Liverpool will now both know they can't afford to slip up against Spurs.
Just your average end of season nine pointer OBE!

And now, Arsenal ABSOLUTELY MUST beat Spurs.
What an unbelievable day.

I spent the morning rationalising to a friend how we should rotate the squad again as today was a free hit due to Spurs loss.
I know absolutely nothing about football. It's taken 40 years, but I'm now clear on that. I will never provide an opinion again. Its pointless, this team forever confounds me.

We already sold Villa Park to NSWE and made mockery of PSR, so perhaps is Chelsea that copy us?
You are making it sound like we are a victim here and Chelsea are the bad guys.
Nobody has moral high ground here.
Touche.

Chelsea passed PSR by selling a hotel owned by Todd Boehly's group for £75,000,000.
Who would by a football hotel for £75,000,000 I hear you ponder.
Well, I'll tell you.
Chelsea passed PSR by selling a hotel owned by Todd Boehly's group for £75,000,000 to a different group owned by Todd Boehly.
How do I make this Villa related?
What assets can we sell back to NSWE, or a subsidiary of NSWE to join in with the mockery making of PSR? North Stand car park for £74,999,999 perhaps? (We don't want to copy Chelsea too much).
FFP / PSR and absolute farce. Get in the **** bin.

An incredibly poor cameo last night. He was more hinderence than help.
(I was at the match, so the above may be hyperbolic, but that's how it seemed at the time).

Kind of sad really. Regardless of what was thought of his ability before, the injury clearly has ruined him.
Is he still playing off the Villa contract? Or have we released and someone else gave him a contract?

A few years ago we were watching the dregs of the Premier League, even the plug hole of The Championship, hoping other teams would do us a favour so we wouldn't be relegated.
We're now watching City v Real Madrid and Bayern v Arsenal hoping favours can be done so we can play those teams, with that anthem, next year.
Levels my friends, levels.
Its worth reminding ourselves of this every now and again, before the next pre / during / post game meltdown occurs.

Watching United fans squeal corruption brings a tear of joy to my eye.
I don't seem to remember them offering apologies for the blatant favouritism they experienced under Fergie.
Let them cry tears of corruption, whilst football passes them by for another year.

Has looked knackered the last few games so a break might help him and us. As long as we can keep it together without him
We've struggled, a little, to keep it together with him, so without him will be interesting, and difficult.

That main event was absolutely, utterly, entirely and wholly ridiculous.

Please feel free to explain why
Happy to.
They bought their ticket. They have invested money, time and energy in supporting the club.
I didn't go, but could have. Chose not to. What sort of supporter does that make me? I'm even worse than them in your eyes as I gave substantially less effort, invested no money in our club and spent my time doing other things.
The ticket was theirs. The seat was theirs. They can arrive, leave, sing, be silent whenever they want.
Explained.

Bloody hell mate.
Well at least we have a more than adequate replacement for the injured Ramsey currently in the team and on a cheap fee.
I'm not sure what you've taken offense with what I said?

I think the polar opposite. Start fast and blow them away just doesn't seem to be Emery's style in games where fatigue may be an issue.
Energy conservation, methodical build up and intelligent use of subs will be order of the day I feel.
